If it's not Park they don't care.

Even Park and Neighborhood gameplay is remarkably unchanged after years and years.

Still left righting like crazy.

Harsh reality. I actually wouldn’t be surprised if they started REMOVING the classic teams that we have now

They've already removed the CP3 Hornets, 1972 Lakers, 1985 76ers, and 1971 Hawks. They technically also removed the 90 bulls, 90 pistons, 95 bulls, 97 bulls, and 97 jazz from 2k11, but they aren't needed as much since they have very similar teams that are still in.

Needless to say, as someone who hates myteam & Park with a passion, I'd really love some more classic teams.

Problem is 2K won’t release the assets they have in myTEAM offline to the rosters. So as you stated, zero lack of effort from 2K’s part. It is maddening because you would think adding missing players and coaches is nothing complicated.

Lamar Odom is in the game but only on the Clippers all time roster. He should be on the Lakers All time Roster but he's not. Stuff like that is frustrating.

I care about historic players and teams because when I create my builds for MyCareer I try to copy all the signature moves, weight, height, wingspan 100% accurately to some classic players and having some of them missing makes it a bit harder.

Lamar Odom isn't even one the top 20 Lakers of all-time.

Yeah , when you look at that all-time Lakers roster, it’s easy to see why Odom isn’t included. That team is STACKED historically.

i agree and disagree with what you said

we do need some few more classic team.

and YES you are right! gameplay for the Classic teams is broken and the reason is specially tendencies,
but also playbooks and option in the coach menu that we can't reach to them (which is really pis**** me off).
I've edited few classic teams (and created my self) tendencies and for some teams i get great results gameplay wise and some are just i don't get it.
example: I created the 2012-13 Nets, i have Brook Lopez on 99 post up, and no matter what he just won't post up and he gets the ball only around the 3-point line, the other like J.Johnson, D-will and G.Wallace play really like them self though

What tendencies did you change exactly? I find odd things like Jason Kidd driving relentlessly to the rim, guarded by everyone, trying to bully his way in and shooting dumb layups like 30 times a game. Think I figured out what to change to stop that.

What’s annoying is classic players are a huge selling point for the game and a big focus. But it’s for stupid MyTeam. Look at their ads, always heavy with myteam classic players.

Hopefully NBA teams expand their rosters in the next CBA. If they allow for 20 players under contract including minor-leaguers, that would be an avenue for 2K to add more rather than have to pick and choose between who they cut.

You gotta wonder how much longer until full rosters from every season in the 2000s will be implemented. I mean, it would kind of take away from how they sell the game each year. But moving towards this in some way may be possible. Thoughts?

I would think that Next Gen consoles can handle them with the extra memory required. The problem would be getting the rights to all those guys alot of those guys need money.

Classic teams are gimped , I mean you can't even put them in a playoff mode so all your hard work for nothing as you have to use 2K default roster but if you wanna bring your classic roster into a season you then have the task of having to create everything over like courts logos ect just way to much work but maybe I'll try it one day as I found a excellent 1987 roster . What a great base of classic teams that are basically only setup to be enjoyed in play now mode only with incredible pre screen options that should be in all modes like jerseys ,gear ect.

It's why I'll just stick playing 21 for years to come .

i am sorry, but roster data memory size should be really neglectible. the Player rights will be more of a Problem here.

2K has been here throughout the 2000s though. I remember I started with 2K6 when NBA Live started going downhill. So why would player rights be a problem? Those guys have already been in these games before.

Money.

Essentially it comes down to elite sports personalities or formers players who are mostly millionaires anyway, or far wealthier than an average person, wanting MORE money for being in a video game.
