Maybe Kobe leaves LA during those rough early 00s years. Maybe the CP3-to-Lakers trade goes through. Maybe Lebron stays in Cleveland and finally gets some help. Maybe he never leaves the Heat. Maybe Kawhi stays in Toronto, or even in San Antonio. Maybe KD never joins the Warriors (lol nah that bus rider was always gonna hitch a ride). The list goes on and on, and that's ignoring the 80s and 90s eras completely.

Then they added the new Rivalry system, so any rivalry in any era actually feels and plays like a true rivalry (or so they say). That's massive! Could they add a few more contract features like sign & trades or buyouts? Sure. But what they've given us with MyNBA Eras fundamentally changes the entire offline experience.
I don't think anyone is saying it is not groundbreaking or great feature, just not something some people are interested in playing. It is too time consuming for me and I have never cared for what if scenarios since they are not real and just in the game. I would probably keep T-Mac and Vince together but I am more more interested in building up some bad tanking team that is currently happening.

Also the scenarios are not going to be year to year and it would take some one with a ton of time to have saves each year trying to match rosters from the actual seasons to have saved for people to play.

The Kobe Era starts in 2002 so the CP3, Lebron, Kawhi are likely to not happen unless the game rigs Cavs to get the #1 pick because any team can tank. CP3 is 2005 so he could get injured or end up somewhere else. The mode is a large fantasy draft mode, neat but just not for everyone.

Eras is a nice gimmick to get people interested in the mode. It is not the mode though. If all of the bugs of 2k22 are still in MyNBA then Eras will fall apart very quickly.

I am assuming they cleaned up MyNBA but just don't find it marketable enough to talk about. The list posted above was most of the issues.

The generated draft classes were broken in 2k22. Names weren't allocated properly. People named Dan Smith from Serbia and black players named Niko Dabanovic from the U.S. were regularly generated.

There were a lot of freezes that occurred and general clean up that needed to happen in the mode that I'm sure they did, but if they didn't eras will need patches to be playable.

2k has never cleaned up the mode. There's bugs from 4 years ago. Draft classes been sh*t for 5 years. They said before they fix some stuff but when you play its the same bugs. When they say they fixed bugs they never tell you what bugs. They definitely don't fix the ones we complain about. Can't wait to play with my number 1 overall draft pick from Australia who's Chinese with blond hair named Frank Jackson.

I wouldn't have that much of a problem with generated draft classes if they let you create like 30 of them yourself. They never explained why they took away storage space

It's only groundbreaking for people that want it. People who are not interested wanted some updates to the original MyNba. When they came out with The City it was very creative but I didn't care lol. Since buying a series x I'm still gonna be playing the exact same mode for 2 years straight. Combining MyGm did nothing for me. Never liked it. They can at least update the sh*tty draft classes

            Re: 2K23 MyNBA

I am more interested in the modern NBA than the eras. But I will have fun with it. The eras seem like a 2K wishlist thing and it allows them to utilize the assets they made for the Jordan Challenges. A big hook for me as a franchise gamer is the fact that the draft classes and (licensed) players will look great AND have commentary associated with them. Playing with and against real players add so much to the experience. I'm big on immersion and I saw just how cool it was last year when I added guys like Baron Davis and Shawn Marion to draft classes. It adds a new vibe.

On to the modern game I have feeling 2K added a few bells and whistles. I just hope they fixed the mode crashing bugs like Gleague players and players on overseas contracts in free agency. I have noticed in all the footage that the halftime show is cut outside of stats. I know last year they added trade talk to the MyNBA halftime show. Players still do become coaches in MyNBA. It's in 2K22. I'm good with the eras this year though with the Jordan Challenges but I just want the same effort put into making our modern and future seasons as immersive and exciting. I have been banging a few years now for 2K handmade draft classes that have real looking players with voices and backstories. It would add so much to future years.

I'm not interested in modern NBA whatsoever so eras is the best new feature for me. Playing through all NBA Seasons from 1983 until today is a dream coming true and I'm so curious how accurate all these rosters are

We dont think we have any control over it. CP3 became a guard guru or shot coach or something a few years after he retired and I hired him on my Hawks staff. I doubt its random who becomes a coach but I have no idea how 2K determines it.

It most commonly seems to be players who make the HoF. I can't remember ever seeing a role player come back as a coach. It's always Paul, LeBron, Carmelo, Dwight, Steph. Lillard. Guys like that. It would be cool if they would add a badge to players that would make them become coaches, so you could get some more variety.

One thing that's a gem about MY ERAS is you don't have to worry about waiting for roster updates
Only for draft classes and missing players

2K really put in some work with these Eras. I played a game in the Kobe era and the commentary spoke about 9/11 the year before and how the sports world is returning. And they have a LOT of real players from the era.

This is what I'm excited about. I know the Jordan stuff is great but I grew up in the Kobe era. 99-2014 were the years I really loved basketball. I don't even really watch the current product.

Can. Someone who has the game update us on sim stats? Are all the best players still putting up near triple doubles on 50/40/90?

A good chunk of people are from these older eras and are overjoyed about MyNBA because there are roster creators for retro gaming and all. Its damn near a dream for some, but understandable not for you.

Since that isnt for you though... What changes would you like to see in the Mode actually if NBA Eras isnt fitting for you?
I'm over 40 so I definitely fit into the "older era" time period, but it still doesn't really interest me. It should be an added bonus to some real changes, and not the main attraction to MyNBA....

one thing I would LOVE in MyNBA would be the ability to take on your team from previous years into the next 2K...start your 2K23 season, where you left off in your 2K22 season, instead of starting fresh all over again.

2k doesn't touch sim stats. You can get them pretty good by doing alot of editing and taking away badges. I do it every year. Doncic the worst lol. I get him in the range of 27 8 8. Just alot of editing for the whole league. If your on series x I can upload my roster when I'm done.
