I’m personally in the process of putting all these classic teams and players in modern nba rosters so I can use them in modern MyNBA mode. Reason being I like the presentation much more with the halftime show, more stats and advanced overlays etc. Best of both worlds. Also you get the Bulls 90’s warmups jerseys in modern mode when you select the 90’s jerseys to use!

My ideal scenario is them giving us a true sandbox MyNBA mode where we can select any era teams to put together in any era, and select any era courts.

Also I do wish we could use era rosters along with modern rosters, for easy player swapping.
    so

So you can’t control all teams in my era? That’s quite a disappointment

Can't wait to play with my number 1 overall draft pick from Australia who's Chinese with blond hair named Frank Jackson.

I wouldn't have that much of a problem with generated draft classes if they let you create like 30 of them yourself. They never explained why they took away storage space
Agree. I used to love the 2K franchise mode, but it has become so bloated with features that the result is a half-baked mode overall. It requires tweaking and adjustments for there to not be issues with progression and wonky draft classes with unusual tendencies/signatures.

After a few years in a league, it ends up stacked with all these players with A+ 3 pt shooting or inside scoring.

I don't know how people don't notice it, other than they probably barely get deep into the mode.

All the focus on these new flashy features, while the foundation gets ignored.

However seeing how it seemingly has locked every team behind an era, and you can't put teams in diffrent eras... it's really killed a lot of my initial hype. If you're able to do it with classic teams, why are all these other teams and coaches locked behind an era? Each eras roster you have to customize independently.
There HAS to be a patch to fix this.
I still can't get over how coaches don't appear later in the simulation of the Magic/Bird era, it is just tough to overlook...the fact that guys like Phil, Pop, etc will never exist even if you sim all the way thru the 90s is crazy.

Lets get a constructive bugs thread going. Its the best we can do. Hopefully the MyNBA devs still pop in here

We can also try submitting tickets to 2k support according to Czar

Im with you. The mode with measurably more enjoyable if the exisitng features got the polish they need to be bug free

One of the things I was looking forward to was having the 2000's sonics team/branding in the modern day. One of the annoying things about the 96' sonics classic team, is if you change the arena branding or jerseys, the announcers stop referring to them by "Seattle supersonics" and instead refer to them with all the created team generics.
I noticed this same issue when I used MJ in the Magic/Bird era. After a couple years I noticed he still had hair, I wanted to make him bald so I changed his player DNA using the 1991 Jordan and now the announcers don't know who he is anymore. So your only option is to keep the MJ that has hair for his entire career or else he's basically a created player that the announcers never acknowledge.

I know I keep repeating it but how haven't they touched generated draft classes? How lol. They have been sooooooo bad for years. Ratings, tendencies, appearances, sigs. Yall not tired of that same 7'3 monster center with huge potential that can do everything or that 6'6 Penny Hardaway point guard or that 6'8 beast shooting guard. Lol it's been exactly the same for years. You have to at least update draft classes every year. Why does auto generate classes exist if their so bad. You gotta edit but we are tired of editing.

Then you take away storage space to create alot of classes with no explanation why. Even Madden updates their generated classes. It's baffling. Draft classes keep it fresh. They always complement their mode but won't fix the mode. Just cause it's deep 2k don't mean it can't become stale. Gotta pay attention to the little things

Btw my favorite MYNBA Bug is back for 4-peat

Copying DNA players tendencies for your Draft classes but when you draft that rookie it says the years played from the copied player

For example:. I copy Kobe DNA Tendancies from the 2001 Lakers and when I drafted my rookie it says 8 years played instead of zero.

2k this is classic old bug at least be upfront and say you haven't figured it out yet
The silents only proofs you don't care 🤷

Surely in years to come they will be able to give us more freedom, but it must be a helluva technical hurdle right now.

How do we think they can improve generated draft classes?

I think they can take a page out of madden’s book and make prototype prospects based on historical players (and now with them doing so much leg work to flesh out rosters in MyNBA eras it should be easier to make the wide range of prospects from superstars to role players to bench warmers)

Take the player ratings, tendencies and badges as is and then randomize the signatures or keep them as is as well. Height and weight can be randomized as well within a range. So you can get a 6’6 steph curry type PG or a 6’8 shaq type center for variety sake

You take all of that and store it in a prospect bank. You then lable the prospect prototypes with whatever impact you expect them to have in the league (superstar, star, role player, bench warmer). Then you can randomize the number of each role per class.

Basing all future prospects off current and past player skeletons will at least go a long way to making the players be somewhat realistic.

                        CONS:

Will things get predictable the longer you sim out? Sure. But i think at least you can get a good 10-15 years of generated draft classes with this type of system.

Another con is i have no idea on how to improve player appearances and have them match with names and things of that nature. Maybe someone can chime in with some suggestion.

Almost gave up on this series with the jump to next gen because the offline modes felt neglected but it goes without saying that an undertaking as massive as mynba eras showcases that the love for offline franchise players is still alive and well at 2k studios. Is the mode perfect? Of course not. Are there still plenty of bugs that one would think would be addressed after 3-4+ years? Of course. I just find it easier and more enjoyable to have a solution based thinking mindset when evaluating the game. No im not a game developer but it sometimes it helps to
Have a different perspective from outside eyes.

They can do anything to improve these sh*tty draft classes. I foolishly thought upgrading to series x I would leave behind these awful classes. I was not surprised when I seen they just ported them over from last gen. They have been EXACTLY the same. No improvements for years. They could at least update appearances

That’s odd. Because when you copy player dna onto another player in normal modes, they still refer to the copied player? So Maybe it’s an era issue where any dna change isn’t recognized?

Maybe I am different, but I am enjoying this mode fully.

There are DEFINITELY things they need to fix but I CHOOSE to have a good time. Just like life you have a choice of happiness and frustration.. this game is keeping me happy as hell.

Thanks 2K, we need those updates but I really appreciate the work that was done. Hoping for more changes this cycle but cant stress enough how grateful I am.
