Exactly! If you look at the little details of the pc mod player models vs 2k models, you can see why the mods just look better over all. The more accurate hair and beard styles, the depth in the eyes and faces overall vs 2k’s robotic look, the length of the shorts on the mods, the design of the arms and legs (the lankier look and more rounded fuller shoulders). 2k needs to take a lesson from these models. There’s no reason their art department can’t do this too. I mean it’s past time for 2k to improve visuals and bring them to a point where they blow us away. I think taking a year off to make the game look truly next gen would be amazing. However, most in the community would riot, lol. But seriously, imagine if unreal engine 5, was in play here… what if 2k basketball and its player renders, courts, presentation, etc… had the look of say Callisto Protocol combined with the amazing animations already in game every year? It would be epic in EVERY sense of the word.

CP3 is too ripped for my liking. They need to make him chubby. And can they please bring back the undershirts? I’m talking about the ones that Kyrie and various others wearComment

Re: NBA 2K23 Art Feedback Thread
Piggybacking on the general problem with majority of the player models, body scans need a massive update. Majority of the new face scans are impressive and I believe will improve once the developers focus primarily on next gen, but as we stand now I don’t think there’s a massive difference between current gen and next gen player models other than the details next gen offers. Found this modder on IG and it blows me away the difference his player models look compared to 2ks. If this isn’t a clear wake up call to 2k developers I don’t know what will. My dream would be that 2k would actually skip a release year and focus whole heartedly on a next get 2k. Granted they won’t do this for money reasons lol but graphics wise it doesn’t feel “next gen” and once PC transitions to next gen it’ll be embarrassing (kinda already is) what they’ll be able to do compared to actual developers. It’s evident it’s possible to achieve under the current software but I mean even implementing the Unreal engine would take this game and franchise to the next level. It just feels like 2k has had the same look for years now and hasn’t looked even as good as 2k14 with that Lebron trailer. Just wish the developers had the same level of passion as these modders or at least team up with them because the current models do not look like NBA athletes

Re: NBA 2K23 Art Feedback Thread
Here’s one more issue that tells me the art department needs to step up with presentation.
Alli Laforce… great addition to the broadcast team. But on camera, her entire necklace is OVER her suit jacket.. not her shirt, her JACKET. ??? I know it’s a small thing, but it kills the immersion of the pregame bc it sticks out like a sore thumb bc it just looks dumb. Why has nobody at 2k caught this? This is on Ps5 “next gen” too. Can’t have eye sores like this. Fix it 2k.Last edited by TheDon7727; 03-12-2023, 03:05 PM.Comment

Re: NBA 2K23 Art Feedback Thread
I've been saying this for years! I've even been penalized on this forum for saying these things!
The artistic comparison of 2K23 next gen with old gen 2K14 is bizarre. Art team should be very embarrassed to see this.
2K ART TEAM STINKS! It's been awful for years. The uniforms in 2K23 are shameful, worthy of NBA 2K6 on Playstation 2. It has no physics. Check out the comparison with 2K14!
Well, I really stopped playing 2K23, that was the last one I bought and I must not have played 20hrs of it. It's the first time this has happened to me in 25 years. NBA 2K is definitely dead for me...Comment

And I agree that they need to somehow make headbands (with the NBA logo & Nike swoosh for modern players) an option for all players. Sucks that we go seasons and seasons dealing with this small, but noticeable, detail missing.

That's Blake Wesley on the Spurs, not David, homie.

Re: NBA 2K23 Art Feedback Thread
2K is a great basketball game overall. They do fantastic work. Visually, it’s time for an upgrade imo. I think 2K just needs to give the community the ability to edit all the players the way PC modders do it. It’s 2023 and we’re about to be dropped 2K24 and we have a next generation of consoles that are bad a** in terms of what they are capable of graphically. There is no reason that 2K basketball needs to look like something from 2017 or 18. I mean look at WWE 2k23. It looks pretty dang good in terms of the player models and the detail. How come 2K can’t incorporate that kind of detail into its NBA series? The game could look dope on PS5 and Xbox just like it does on PC. 2K just needs to give the community all the access to all the edits possible just like the modders have. They won’t do this, of course, because it would put their whole art department out of a job and they would lose a lot of control over the look of their game. But seriously, go on YouTube and search the user K4RL. Look at his videos of the PC version of the game. That’s last GEN and tell me that it does not look better than the PS five version next GEN 2K23. His videos of the game visually, they’re just beautiful to watch. I mean think about it, can you imagine the ATD roster with all the edits to gear, plays, etc looking like that on console? I know I wouldn’t play anything else for a long time bc the gameplay in 2k is already fantastic.
2K, if you’re reading this, please update 2K24 graphically to match the PC version of the game when it’s modded. It’s past time to do this. If it’s too much work for your team, bc we know only so much can be done in a year, just open up the game completely to the console community, so the family can make the visual updates ourselves. For the cost of the game now, we deserve a truly “next-gen experience” in every area.Last edited by TheDon7727; 03-21-2023, 07:18 PM.Comment

Re: NBA 2K23 Art Feedback Thread
Guys, I think they are updating art files into already started MyNBA saves...'
I say this because when the game first launched, if you started in the Kobe Era and wanted to control the Bobcats, you got the old Hornets uniforms.
I been playing since 1983 and when I received the Bobcats in the 2004 year, their uniforms was already updated right towards the expansion draft... still need some more art updates though but good work 2K..please keep these updates comingComment

Re: NBA 2K23 Art Feedback Thread
I really don't like when i make a dunk like this because Mike made this dunk in game in 1986 or 1984 or during a slam dunk contest, but not in 1996.

Can we please add headbands on players that wear them. Every player should have that option. Thank you.Comment

Re: NBA 2K23 Art Feedback Thread
2K needs to find a way to replicate this type of lighting that reflects off of arms, shoulders, faces, etc. It would really make the game look better overall. Players don't have to be drenched in sweat, they just need to not look so ashy & bone dry

Re: NBA 2K23 Art Feedback Thread
Ashy is one of the best ways to describe this game.
Jerseys are super stiff and look very bad especially when playing in older eras. KB81, The 2K14 video you shown really opened my eyes to how bland this game looks.
There needs to be alot of graphical improvements for '24.
