One thing with 2K you can be assured about, is once they fk something up, when they “fix it by reverting it” another 5 things get fk’d up. That’s why it’s so bad when they screw something up. Cause it opens up a whole tornado of issues when they try to fix it again.

Re: Why the 'Interior Defense' nerf is unrealistic
Fg% in 1998 was 45%. It was 46% in 2022.This game isn't any fun to play anymore.
It used to be my go-to sports title by a wide margin, now I'm on the brink of deleting it all together.
I'm not interested in shooting 40% from the floor, and having the CPU shoot 35%. This isn't 1998. Fix whatever you changed NOW.
Don't even dare try and make a shot inside the paint now unless it's wide open with no one within 5 feet of your player.
I'm the Orlando Magic, Luka should absolutely COOKING my point guard Markelle Fultz. Instead, he scores 14 points in 11 minute quarters while I control Wendell Carter the entire game (or his substitute)
Also, the CPU had FOUR back court violations in one game. They literally did a 10 foot step back to where they took a step past the half court line. Great job, developers.
If the game played like 1998 you can rest assured Shaq would have 3 guys on him when caught in a mismatch with Allen Iverson in the paint.Comment

Still get a lot of rim outs.
84 driving dunk with bronze Posterizer. Had 3 2 handed flub dunks in one game.
I can understand getting blocked. But AoE defense is so dumb in a "sim" franchise.
99 block doesn't SCARE people into missing dunks, 2k. If Miles Turner never got dunked on in the past 10 years maybe I'd understand. But half the fun of going against a great shot blocker is punishing him when he jumps too early or too late.
They shouldn't be rewarded for bad defense.Comment

I don't play online at all. Based on what you're saying I assume you do. So I ask you as someone who knows nothing more than the odd bit of forum stuff I read here - have the game play changes made to balance online play been effective and/or received positively?Comment

Re: Why the 'Interior Defense' nerf is unrealistic
I don't see any reversion. Played the first conference finals game in our online league yesterday and we were getting the same strange inside contest animations like before. My opponents Anthony Davis was not able to finish over Desmond Bane or Reggie Jackson after pushing them under the rim. It was playing like ****...Comment

I’m back to posters and casual standing layups converting on my HOF anchor…go figure

Re: Why the 'Interior Defense' nerf is unrealistic
Being able to basically force a poster dunk is a diff problem entirely, imo. That's a game flaw. I got some research vs Superstar. Def not getting as many blocks from behind, but high block gets even more (imo) blocks than they used to.

You can hit some wild stuff now if you release right.

Always been one of my least favorite things. It just won't happen with a big guy from behind. He'll push the other dude back. BACK AND IN EFFECT.

and that's green and open, too. So I mean, it seems like the contest radius got smaller, the effect of a contest is the same or stronger, tho, and yeah the posters, that's w/e.
not happy with it, but it has some interesting possibilities. It's more skill based, but still not realistic like it was at first where it was super hard to get at the ball from behind, etc.
