Another thing I have been begging 2K for is continuing MyNBA franchise year after year. Imagine if you can take your MyNBA franchise from 2K23 into 2K24 and so one, instead of starting fresh every year!
Once again? MyERA mode last year was one of the most daunting and impressive franchise modes ever put into a sports game lol. I can't take posts like this seriously

You know some aren't into Eras. I only play Modern and there's been zero upgrades for 4 years. Switching from Xbox one to series was the same experience. They just combined Mygm and myleague. Don't play Mygm. They literally have the same awful generated draft classes since last gen. I mean they can at least update that. They haven't fixed any bugs for years. They literally don't touch modern at all. Some small updates and bug fixes would be great

Glad they continued to refine the eras experience and added the LeBron era.

This did not provide me, as a MyNBA only player, any reason to go from 23 to 24. I hope that one of the devs does a proper interview that goes into the details of what legacy issues are fixed/upgraded soon. I have noticed that every version of 2k that has scant details on the MyLeague/MyNBA/Association mode during the hype cycle has a disappointing bug filled offering of the mode. Hope that's not what this year's version is...

Yea I waiting to preorder until I heard more about my nba, this did not inspire a ton of confidence.

I’m still enjoying mynba in 23, so maybe I’ll just stick with that till the regular season starts. The eras are a great addition but I like digging into the minutiae and team building with current teams and players, was hoping they fixed and expanded on the chit chat and interactions.

Wait until they release info on the Mamba Moments. That's suppose to come sometime this week too.

It feels like next year could be the year we see bigger improvements to the overall MyNBA mode. Last year focused on Eras. This year seems to focus on accessibility and some quality of life improvements (hopefully there are smaller fixes and refinements that weren't mentioned here). It almost feels like this is a transition year.

Next year HAS to be the year they finally bring the "next-gen" version to PC and hopefully that brings a meaningful upgrade to the game as well.

As a draft class creator. All I ask for is for us to get the classes we did last year and move them to this year. It's takes so much effort to do this work

I don't care about MyERA. I am talking about the modern era. Nothing new for maybe 5 years now.

That aside, I really do appreciate the automatic updating of appearance for players. Something I was hoping for last year even though it could be done manually. I also really do like them bringing back the newspaper articles and NBA.com stuff as it's been sorely missed in the mode for years.
Now, all that said, I'm EXTREMELY disappointed we got absolutely nothing on the aesthetic front besides the player appearance thing.

For me, the bigger issue was the lack of any proper attention to detail. Last year felt barebones and it was frustrating knowing those things were in game and only needed to be brought over from the Jordan Challenge.

Things like the Boston Garden in the 80s having accurate tables and signage but being a generic stadium in Eras. Them having a football stadium model that they used for the college and USA game but not using it for the Alamodome or Silverdome in Eras. The NBA Finals logo for tables, courts, and broadcast opening but absolutely nothing except for the current year's Finals lettering popping up on the stanchion and the ad table. Certain teams unis and courts not updating properly even though it said it did. What happened to the hats and tees players wore when celebrating the title in the Modern Era?

I appreciate the mode, but without those things it feels barren, lesser. Seeing these details appear in another mode only exacerbates the issue. And unlike players, we can't manually add these details using the creation suite because it is limited. Then there's no current gen PC version either where all this could be fixed.
I couldn't have said it better myself. Amazing mode, welcomed additions with the NBA.com, auto-age for some players, and 2011 Era, but I held out at least a little hope that some of the aesthetics could have been straightened out—fixing some of the inaccurate year-to-year transitions, maybe adding a few more courts, carrying over some Jordan Challenge details, etc.

Perhaps there's still a chance there'll be some under-the-hood surprises on that front, but I'm not holding my breath.

Or at least we'll have attributes that are close to the real thing, and we'll just have to change their names...
Gaming companies are not allowed to add shadow players like they used to back in the day. The ol' routine where EA used to add SG #99 for the Chicago Bulls who happened to share all the same attributes as Michael Jordan can now leave them subject to lawsuit, particularly since the Ed O'Bannon case. That's why all end-of-bench guys have to be as generic and bland as possible these days.

On the other hand, whatever users make on their own is on them, and folks have made some amazing Reggie Milers out there.

Re: NBA 2K24 Introduces New Updates to MyNBA

A little underwhelming news drop, but my biggest hope was partially addressed (the news section) and not a type of thing that I would expect to get front page promotion (presentation items like awkward silences at tipoff for older eras and referring to prime DPOY Dwight Howard as if he is a 37 year old vet).

The aging player models is a nice addition that was heavily requested. Glad some people got the LeBron era even though I'm strictly a Kobe era player, and the changing news tab over the years is great. The MyNBA lite isn't for me, but I'll never object to trying to get more people into franchise mode.

I'm hoping thats not the extent of improvements and we got some legacy bugs fixed like not being able to give rookie extensions.

Hope they fix the Cap, where is becomes impossible to even have a salary cap, when players are asking for 60 million a year, 10-15 years into your save.

Dude. We got the biggest leap in offline franchise gameplay in any sports game, maybe ever, a year ago.

                            Like, chill.

Not too surprised it's a smaller step taken this year considering the undertaking through last years cycle but hopefully as a set of immersive features, they have the impact they should.

I'll probably end up waiting until sales but I'm still invested in my current save (2003 to 2016 so far) so see no reason to make the jump. Save transfers would be a dream, likewise with draft classes etc. I'd love to see what the community could do without the consistent replication of the foundations.

I do think the lite-mode is a positive though. The majority on these forums are likely to be the minority, those who micromanage more and wouldn't use the stripped-back version. In comparison I know some of my friends would love that, being able to dive in without so many options in the set-up. Alongside 2k, I've always played a lot of football manager which is essentially a spreadsheet simulator but 12-year old me jumped into their classic mode for a first save which was stripped back and was a bit of a stepping stone. So even though I wouldn't go anywhere near Eras-Lite, I'm sure it will increase engagement and retention within the wider fan base.

When I do buy the game though, I'm getting Nick Collison a chip.

Every person’s “era” starting with a year they won a championship and then Lebron’s starting with a year he lost in the finals, is kinda funny.

An interesting path in the LeBron era would be to fulfill his attempt at recruiting Steve Nash, lol.

Imo it should be the “LeBron and Steph” era. Steph has just as many rings, all of them (in the decade) against LeBron, and did it on one dynasty he helmed which ruled the 2010’s. Not to mention Steph completely changed how the game is played during that era. So you can have a truly educational era progression where as Steph rises you also see the game change from slow and more physical to fast, three point spacing fests. But I guess “will LeBron switch teams 3 times or finish the decade on the Heat?!” requires less coding.
