Would like two late fixes in create a player. Add more names in the scroll for player names. All nba players ever? Maybe names included in next couple years mock draft classes.
Second. Add a brush cut (old players). And a cap with a really long face.

Would really like to see a revamped team creation / rebrand option.

Was a revolutionary feature when they introduced it. But I want to say that was 2K16, and two console generations ago. And it really shows now.

If I’m playing with a created or rebranded team, I should not be able to discern a difference in fidelity or image quality or stadium rendering vs a stock team.

With EA leaning into team builder in their titles this year, my fingers are crossed

I'm very bearish on MyNBA updates this year. If they really worked on it like they need to for it to be great they would have a proper dev diary. From the media release schedule it appears like it'll be a single blog post next Monday.


Definitely open to being wrong, but judging by the past 8 years of 2k it's unlikely...

A huge thing I want is all teams to not be locked behind eras, for a truly customizable league.

For example if I want 10 teams from the 2011 era, 10 from the modern era and 10 from the Jordan era, I should be able to do that. Right now we only can add the "historic" teams but not all the other teams that got added to the other eras.

Also will make it easier when I want to add Seattle into the league, because I can just use their already existing presentation/records from the Kobe era.

Also for immersion purposes, it'd be great if you could designate your star players as duo, or a big 3, and then they get referenced as such in the actual games.

sad that MyNBA has felt the same for the last few years. Minor improvements don't do it, and the whole ERA thing is lame.

they need to do a test of making mycarrerpark/my team its own game and the eras mode its own game this way its not 200 gb to keep on your system my team on mobile is around 7 gb for ex

Agreed, wish it would be like COD, divided per modes so you can manage as you see fit, iex: I do not use the My Team mode, so I can not download that part and save me some space. Also wish they divide the saving slots so MyPlayers are 10 slots and MyNBA are 10 separately slots.

I just wish roster slots were increased, and there was a setting that would lock the roster progression with reality.

Like we could watch the seasons progress and the drafts go exactly as they did, players retire when they retire, real trades happen. I wouldn’t even mind if my created player gets cut, booted, traded, etc. that would actually be kind of fun, to hit a date and randomly find I’ve been included in a package with some picks.

Why would KD leave for Golden State after that?

I’ve been playing NFL and NBA 2k since the originals dropped when I was in 8th grade. I’m just whimsically mentioning something I’ve always wished to see done differently, same as everybody else in this thread. Same as spending two decades dominating franchise and career modes as a star, before growing older and finally just enjoying being role player sometimes.

Oh OK. I thought maybe if there were some precedent for such a feature then maybe there's an audience for it that I'm ignorant to, but to me it seems like something there wouldn't be much demand for.

If you're talking about an automated historical reenactment right down to the injuries and game outcomes then I just don't think there are very many people who would be interested in experiencing MyNBA that way. After all, at that point you may as well turn 2K off and just watch the real-life games themselves. When it comes to graphics, animations, commentary, presentation, etc., you can't beat reality, lol.

It's not a historical trade if a made-up player is in it.

My more general point though is that the more you inject spontaneity and your own agency into a franchise-mode league, the less it can reasonably stick to the historical script. You'd essentially have to just not actually play in order for it to work (for instance, Player Locking to the 15th man on the roster so you're only in occasionally for garbage time). Even just taking free control of a guy who is never more than a 7th man on a good team is enough to disrupt NBA history significantly.

Warriors lost Game 7 in 2016 by 4 points. Mo Speights missed a 2-point shot and a 3-pointer. If you were simply playing out the Mo Speights Player Lock experience and hit those two shots, that throws a gigantic wrench into the whole historical reenactment.
