Graphics look underwhelming. Not as bad as 2K24 but not as good to me as 2K23. At absolute best it’s in line with 23. I see zero graphical improvements from 2-3 years ago.

The wood almost looks matte. They added back a little gloss. Still not as dynamic looking or rich as 2K23 and prior.

I guess I don’t have as detailed an eye as some as to gauging how smooth proplay looks. I see it looking smooth but you see some animation hitches, as it’s always been. I’d have to feel it to really know. Although I use mostly legends anyway who don’t have proplay.

As weird as it may sound to others, I'm with you. While gameplay takes a front seat, I won't buy 2K25 if the courts and players look like plastic and rubber. I might preorder the game then wait to see what others have to say about its look before picking it up. The one video from the first post isn't going to sway me one way or another yet.

I might preorder the game then wait to see what others have to say about its look before picking it up. The one video from the first post isn't going to sway me one way or another yet.

Yeah it’s just too hard for me to downgrade graphically. That’s why I went back to 23 immediately and didn’t play 24. 25 looking worse than 23 would be another dealbreaker for me. It’s just ridiculous at that point. The courts in 25 don’t look confidence inspiring.

Proplay would be of higher priority for me if I only used newer players. But if I use primarily legends then it’s of less value.

Which makes me wonder, has 2K updated and refined its MoCap smoothness and quality or are they so immersed in proplay is mocap basically gonna stay where it was in 23 which was the last year they exclusively used it?

I actually noticed the lighting on the players too, but didn’t want to say anything until I saw a HQ video. Looks like they’re trying something different.

I feel bad for Uncle Demi- This was obviously supposed to be post embargo content.

Re: player lighting, are you referring to closeups? In normal gameplay I’m struggling to see player lighting differences. In fact it seems to have that chalky look of 2K24 but I’ll await seeing it up close to really know I guess.

But I paid attention to the after basket cuts and I can maybe see what you guys are referring to there. It almost looks like they just got the sweat and gloss factor right in those shots?

The rim and net physics look soooooooo much better look at that Jamal Murry jumpshot that rattled in the rim.

Dribbling and shooting system is giving that NBA Live vibe which isn't bad definitely gotta see hands on.

Floor spacing and player ratio looks to be finally fixed we gotta see some broadcast cam footage to confirm that tho.

Overall I'm liking what I'm seeing so far from the footage hopefully the arena sounds are much better than last year I'm happy we finally have arena specific lighting.

Those signature go to shots are so cold man…

Not sure what they did, but the animation quality overall took a noticeable leap.

I saw the video and didn't notice an updated face render. Where in the video is his face visible cause all I see is the back of his head?

And 2K/Ronnie are still trying to get Edwards in for a scan (*******es should've offered him the cover to entice to get scanned for 2K25), but like Westbrook - and a few others - he's just either too busy or refuses.

I see his render looks miles better than last year, but an actual face scan would be even better. I hope they did some polishing up of Westbrook's render too.
