I wanted to play this morning but the download didn't finish. Gotta play later when I get home from work but I was able to watch shady Mike's stream.

He played HOF and what surprised me was that the CPU didn't seem to be automatic at the 3. Game looked fair to me but that was only one game.

Other surprise was the inclusion of DLSS and Ray tracing. I'm impress that 2k gave PC some love. I look forward on playing later.

I thought Ray tracing was only included in the City mode.

I’m in the honeymoon phase but I can definitively say that this is the most impressed I’ve been with a 2K game on Day 1 since well before the 2020s. This game is special right out of the box. With mods it will be god-tier.

On my first few games I always create teams with all the marquee players and run a few games. 2K25 just has so much more attention to detail and so many new animations and signature movements, the recent advancements in AI are really starting to pay off in sports video games which seem miles ahead of other games lately and this is no exception.

And yeah with DLSS and Ray Tracing it’s the best 2K has ever looked by leaps and bounds. Going out through the tunnel into the Staples Center in mycareer for the first game was damn near jaw-dropping if you’re coming from ‘22-24.

It feels next gen in the best way. Really excited to keep playing tomorrow.

Re: NBA 2K25 PC/Steam Early Tip-Off starts NOW

I've played one game. It feels great, and even challenged me on Pro. I usually play 2K on Allstar and struggle to defend the CPU most of the time. This felt smooth and largely responsive.

I played 2K24 on my PS5 last year but on PC this takes another leap forward. Its fantastic having all scenes running at a super high frame rate and not cut scenes dropping to 30 like on console. Ray tracing and DLSS is a very nice suprise. I have a 4070ti & 5800X3D running primarily at 1440p. The game maxed out with DLAA looks beautiful. There seems to be some mild stutter when bringing the ball up the court in broadcast view. I hope that gets patched out, or is just a quirk in my system.

The one knock is that it absolutely blasts your CPU. Mine is cooled by a 280mm radiator and it was hitting 90 degrees centrigrade during gameplay. That's way too high and much, much higher than in other games. Cyberpunk wiht path tracing sits at 65-75 degrees for me. 90 is nuts. I'd expect temps like that during shader preload and stress tests, not gameplay. I may look into an FPS cap to chill it out a bit.

I made the jump to PC this year simply because I want to experience the mods. The shaders were loading when I had to leave out for work. I'm looking forward to checking it out at lunch.

Every time I choose the HDR option in video, my 2k crashes.

This runs terribly on the ROG Ally. Which is pretty weird considering there is a Steam Deck option in settings and really the Ally is just a significantly more powerful system than the Steam Deck.

Lowest settings and 720p and it stutters everywhere in game.
Really? I'm on the Ally X and had great FPS this morning before work, but I have only played freestyle/scrimmage so far.

I created a thread for handheld pc settings here if that is helpful to you.

I got to give a hats off to 2k for giving this game DLSS, Ray Tracing and HDR options. Pretty good come back for the PC version.

Man I'm going to need to balance this with Space Marine 2 when it releases tomorrow.

Looking for opinions here because I know no one really knows the answer yet. Just looking for advice as to the timing of possible mods. Should I buy the game on PS5 now and wait for mods and a price drop before getting the PC version?
