Could someone who uses the defensive settings (individual player settings, coach settings) show a video or post a link to one?

Would be great to see, how the cpu ai and own cpu teammates play, when the settings are set appropriately.

I was so disappointed with the offline play the last versions. CPU wasn't playing smart on offense and defense at all. I bought probably every game in the last 20 years. Swore that i won't buy this one. But if a change of settings can make the cpu to play more realistic i may change my mind.

I’m old school. I grew up on games where you had no sliders, I just feel like it’s kinda cheating.

I was the same as you, until I got exasperated and tweaked a few sliders then found I had a really enjoyable game experience.

My view is that if I have the CPU setting equal to or higher than the USER setting, then it's not cheating because I have no advantage over them.

Just my view of course, you do you, but I found it impossible to keep the CPU (or me) on realistic shooting % on Superstar or HOF without sliders.

I'm not seeing the defensive settings work at all when you switch sides to change the AI's defensive settings. Is anyone having success with this at all?

It works for me. When you go in and switch sides you definitely can see changes work.

I usually turn up the help defense slider and change the stay attached

Have you tried pick-and-roll coverage? The AI goes under way too often IMO

They will go over if you set it to go over. My main issue with the pick and roll defense, is the hedge man. They are constantly out of position. Plus the Hard hedge is soft. The bigs don’t come all the way up, to prevent the player from turning the corner

Every time I set them to go over, they still go under the majority of the time.

Switch off ball is the same. Lots of issues with this game

Hedge man defense needs so much improvement. Need to be able to set different levels of depth on your drop coverage. Need actual hard hedge option.

Hopefully going forward we can get more strategy and adjustment based stuff added to the game. Been a while since we’ve seen a big jump there

I’ve been playing around with some of the premade player defensive coaching adjustments as well with great success. Boxes and elbows, force the jumper, force drive, make him work, and give it up, all seem to work well.
