Totally agree. I was missing middies and layups with him too. I might have given up on him too soon, but he was new when I bought him and I knew he'd drop in price. So he would have to really wow me for me to keep him. I expected his passing to feel better somehow, but it really didn't feel any different than most other bigs.

Re: Badging Thread
Here is one of my fav wing player in the game. Had him for 2 months now and 2K has secretly updated his tendencies from the time I had him. Now he litterally dunks over anyone, alot quicker and his shot release, got so much easier.
Player: Diamond Rewards Grant Hill
Comes With:
Personality:
- Championship DNA
- Floor General
Normal:
- Posterizer(HOF)
- Acrobat
- Relentless Finisher
- Ankle Breaker
- Break Starter
- Dimer
Badges to Add:
1. Defensive Stopper
2. Corner Specialist
3. Mid Range Deadeye
4. One Man Fast Break
5. Difficult Shots
6. Catch & Shoot
or
6. P&R Maestro
I chose Catch & Shoot over P&R as I don't use Hill as my primary ballhandler, and would run down and space the floor spot up hit that corner 3, otherwise, P&R Maestro would be a very good choice for Grant, especially if you have a Ball Control shoe on him. Will blow by anyone with his Speed and control!Comment

Which is a totally logical, but I'm looking at my Grant Hill's stats, and in 10.2MPG, he only pulls 1.7RPG for me. So, in a game, he's only going to get a chance to use that badge, realistically speaking, 2 times, max.
I agree with your rationale for choosing Catch & Shoot over P&R Maestro if you have to choose between the two, but I think both will be used more times than OMFB.
I only added Defensive Stopper to mine. Looking at things anew, I think I would go off your list, only I would do P&R Maestro and Catch & Shoot and omit OMFB...I think.
Historically, Hill has been valuable to me as a backup PG...basically to provide a 3rd PG option without having to carry a 3rd PG in my lineup. And with the need to defend Magics and Giannises at PG (and being too lazy to muck with def matchups).
While the need for larger PG's is still there, with Diamond Penny added to the mix of big PG's, I don't see Magic as much and without his OP post-up threat, being 2 or 3 deep in terms of big PG's is not as big of a deal, it seems.
Still, Hill is a valuable secondary playmaker, especially if you have a PG for whom you want to call plays for, and which involve off-ball action for that PG. So I think P&R Maestro can be used, by most, at least a handful of times per game.
Have you played with Hill with Ball Control shoes? Do you notice a concrete positive effect on his dribble moves? My impression is that, no matter what you do to his Ball Control, he still doesn't have very fast/crisp animations for changing directions, so he's never going to be ideal as ballhandler in P&R, so despite all I've said, it's not necessarily a bad idea to sacrifice P&R Maestro for something else.Comment

Re: Badging Thread
I think this is generally known, but there is one card, so far, that presents zero dilemmas in badging. Because he comes with 29 badges and, as an Amethyst, has slots for 6 more badges...but the game only has 34 regular badges, total.
So he can have every single regular badge in the game, with one slot to spare.
Amethyst All-Around Larry Bird
Comes With: Virtually everything
Empty Slots: 6
Badges to Add
I use a spreadsheet to try to list out all possibilities, with most cards. And I typically get stuck with analysis paralysis and leave the last 1-3 slots open. Which is dumb. No such problem with Bird. With Bird, I just needed a spreadsheet to figure out which 5 of the 34 badges in the game he actually lacks. These are...
1. Posterizer
2. Lob City Finisher
3. Rim Protector
4. Putback King
5. Ankle Breaker
This Bird is a pretty expensive card. I bought him only because I saw what I thought was a pretty decent deal on him and I figured I could re-sell later for profit. I still might resell him later, but in the meantime, I think I have to upgrade all his Bronze/Silver badges and add the above badges.
The badging is just. too. much. Not just the ability to carry every single regular badge in the game, but also because he's one of the guys with Floor General and Defensive Anchor...and also has Championship DNA, Clutch Performer, Hardened, and Spark Plug.
I think, literally, his only shortcoming in badging is not having Microwave.Comment

Re: Badging Thread
I have 4 open slots now. I was kinda leaning Corner/Acrobat/Posterizer/Putback King or instead of Putback King go Defensive Stopper. I usually kick out off a rebound but even if I went back up he's got a 97 standing layup plus he'd have Posterizer/Acrobat/Relentless. I noticed you didn't list any defensive badges is Defensive Stopper not that useful on a PF?Comment

Re: Badging Thread
Thanks for the reply good list. I so far put Rim Protector and Brick Wall as he's got popper and roller felt it was a no brainer.

I'm not big on Putback King when slots are precious. You have to look at how often someone gets an offensive rebound and then compare that to how many times they will, for example, set a screen. Or receive a pass on a fade. Or receive a pass while standing in the corner, open.
You can't go wrong with Defensive Stopper on anyone, even a center (because of nerfing the shooting badges of Stretch 5's).
And then Corner/Acrobat/Posterizer make perfect sense.
I would play with him for a while. Get a sense of how you play in the post with him, and how you shoot with him. See whether shooting or post badges are more compelling.Comment

McGinnis only had a 37 block though so does Rim Protector actually help?

Re: Badging Thread
That's a good list. Almost identical to the one I made up. I also thought that Post-Spin Tech was worth considering, as is Dreamlike. But, upon reflection, I think the only one on your list that I might not go with is One Man Fast Break.

Re: Badging Thread
I've got 4 open slots left for Diamond Dwight Howard, should I just go the last four? Does anybody know if Difficult Shots triggers on layups to the basket? He pretty much has everything else that could pertain to him.
Difficult shots
Break starter
Dimer
Pick dodger
Pick pocketComment

Difficult shots
Break starter
Dimer
Pick dodger
Pick pocket
I was comparing him to some of the other elite big men and my suggestions are:
category a: relentless finisher, tireless scorer, pick pocket, pick dodger
category b: acrobat, break starter, dimerComment

Re: Badging Thread
I went with Acrobat/Relentless/Break Starter/Pick Pocket/Dimer for the kick outs of an offensive rebound. He has one spot left so either Pick Dodger or Diff Shots still undecidedComment

Re: Badging Thread
So with the recent changes to rewards cards, I'm thinking about badging out a David Thompson I got in MTO. What are your thoughts?
Comes With
Tireless Scorer - Amethyst
Corner Specialist
Difficult Shots
Mid-Range Deadeye
Acrobat
Posterizer
Considering Adding
Catch and Shoot
Pick Dodger
Defensive Stopper
Charge Card
Pick and Roll Maestro
Relentless Finisher
Dimer
Tear Dropper
One Man Fast Break
Rim Protector (85 block rating)
Deep Range Deadeye
I think Catch and Shoot, Defensive Stopper, and Relentless Finisher are must adds. After that, I'm less sure. Any thoughts?Comment
