Re: SimWorld Presents: The NBA2K17 Fictional Draft Class Thread (for Xbox One)
EVERY PIECE of released info is linked in the draft class Central google doc. There may be a story but nothing that we posted. Don't think we're gonna advertise post collegiate career info either... we'll let those storylines float to ur NBA2k imaginations and dynasties as we don't want to give spoilers on people being injured or what have you.
The explanation will simply stay pinned to the collegiate side of things with the general caveat that Sapp posted about added injuries and "suspensions" to add levels of sim and variables to ur MyLeagues.

Re: SimWorld Presents: The NBA2K17 Fictional Draft Class Thread (for Xbox One)
Do any of you use the player training to improve attributes? I've tried a few different times with different players and in the offseason when I look at player progression I never notice an improvement. If anything it seems like it halts improvement to a players other attributes. Anyone else had better luck and maybe I'm just doing something wrong? ( sorry I realize this is unrelated to the thread lol)Comment

Had this same question. Haven't decided whether to use it or not as of yet. It isn't mentioned in the doc I don't believe.Comment

Re: SimWorld Presents: The NBA2K17 Fictional Draft Class Thread (for Xbox One)
In our sets if you raise a player from a 77 to a 82 3pt that's a whole new player. Having that happen across the league without anybody let's say getting injured from rigorous training would create an imbalance .
That's just my take on why I want it lowered in the Fictional set. Yellz may chime in on why the NBA is the same

Re: SimWorld Presents: The NBA2K17 Fictional Draft Class Thread (for Xbox One)
I'm curious in the training sliders too. For your sims when creating everything did you leave all the training stuff untouched?
On another note I have a Nets MyLeague going and I grabbed Pettersen in the first round. Guys been solid so far. I played the first summer league game and dropped 19 pts, 14 rebs, 3 assists matched up against Darrel Arthur (no clue why he's in summer league but that's a game issue not SW lol), including a game sealing bucket with 10 seconds left to put us up 4. Not sure if he would put those numbers up when I sit rather than play, but will find out tonight!

We have our training in our MyLeague sliders very low. Training "should" improve some attributes but not by much.

Reasons are the same. I'd also add that our thought process is that in the real world, just because a owner or coach, player or staff member wants to train in a particular area, that goes t necessarily mean he'll get better at it. Having that progression rely more on randomness of the engine is just another way we can remove human exploit variables for a true SimWorld Experience. From a "I'd rather have control" aspect; if we really wanted someone to progress or be better at something than he currently is... we can always edit

I just realized we're talking about slightly different things. I believe you guys are talking about the in season training effects slider in the league settings, right?
I was thinking of the sliders in player training where you can shift their area of focus by percentages (so like change 3pt concentrations from 4% to 6% and lower mid range). I've just been leaving them alone and I assume you guys do the same since I didn't see it in the google doc.
Side note, I re-did my DC1 draft last night and took Okafemi (the Nigerian PF) as my late first rounder, which is a reach, but I'm playing it off as a storyline that he was Turay's teammate and that got him discovered, but like you mention in the scouting report he's got a ways to go so is a definite project. Hoping he can turn into an Ibaka type of guy but that's probably a bit ambitious.

Pretty sure most of his awareness / main defensive attributes are in the lower tier of our scales. I think he like a 68 ovr. If he has a 78 potential and reaches it he would still have ALOT of attribute distribution to get him to a CAPABLE defender. Let alone a top notch guy.
Sometimes guys just are who they are ya know. I remember hearing my man Tim Thomas say "I've made Millions playing ball my way."
