Re: Will we still have to press start to load the menu?
Or, if you prefer to use logic, why put in more work to add something to the game in the first place that slows down the player and load times, but offers no positives in return.
Where did you get the idea that games begin with this annoyance and it takes work for the programmers to "remove" it, as if they didn't put it there in the first place?Comment

Re: Will we still have to press start to load the menu?
Correct. There are two options. A menu that loads on its own, and a menu that requires your intervention to load. It's not life or death, and the fate of the world doesn't rest on which option you choose, but nonetheless, one option is clearly superior to the other. End of debate. Some people care about the details, others don't.Comment

Re: Will we still have to press start to load the menu?
As for the "attract mode" BS, that doesn't make any sense. In an arcade, they need to actually draw people in to spend money on the game. In the home setting, 100% of people who put the game in already intend to play it. It's not possible to convince them further.Comment

Re: Will we still have to press start to load the menu?
I just saw this for the first time and it might be the best thread I have ever read in my life.
@ complaining about having to press "start" and doing it very seriously.
@ people coming in to defend having to press "start."
Classic.Comment

Re: Will we still have to press start to load the menu?
Haha, it is funny. But the OP makes a good point. Sure it's trivial, but I hate having to press Ok to get everything started. It makes no logical sense to have it the way 2k7 was. If you must have a Start button, atleast load everything prior so you can press start and get going. I honestly don't see how you can argue against the OP, except to say there are better ways to spend the programmers' time (which I am glad they have done. I'm so excited for 10/2 because I have held off from watching videos or trying the demo! Can't wait for the real thing!)Comment

Re: Will we still have to press start to load the menu?
Take Two hasn't turned a profit in years. When they inevitibly go bankrupt, I will buy 2k sports out and insert auto-load menus into all of their games. On a related note, I'll introduce instant replays that you can instantly exit without having to stare at a logo like a jackass, so that you don't have to turn off replays altogether. 2k has no respect for your time. They want you to spend it staring at start screens and logos. They think it will subconciously build your brand loyalty if they can force you to stare at their logo.Comment

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

And having to press start is a HUGE problem. The half second it takes for me to read it and then react to the press start screen, another .2 seconds to actually press the start button, equals .7 seconds of my life wasted man WASTED!!
I hope Lebronze does buy take two after the disastrous GTAIV comes out to horrible sales figures.(estimated 8 million first week, have link to prove)."I'm addicted to Video Games, and i chase it with a little OS." -Winston ChurchillComment
