It might help if you said what graphics card you have, and it better be a good one with a slow processor like that.

Also, I'll be playing on a 46" LCD 1080P Sony TV.
Without choppyness you're gonna need the best 8800 or 9800 (or whatever the best ati card is, im not sure) at least 2 gigs of ram and probably at least an e6600 cpu.

Re: System Requirements for NBA 2k9 PC is confirmed...

for people to guage a mid range machine against, my specs:

              AMD 64 3700
              2GB RAM
              7800GTX (256Mb)

Everything on High, with 4xAA - runs smooth no worries. If i go Ultra High on Players (the only option with Ultra) then the game chops up.

I dont think it takes much of a machine to hit High on this (and it still looks good), its the crossover to Ultra High that requires a top end machine.

Can this PC spec run NBA 2k9 in ultra high settings?

Hi guys.I am planning to build a new gaming rig.I just want to ask if I can run the game in ultra high settings with the following specs?

                AMD Athlon64 x2 6000+ Socket AM2
                2GB PC6400 DDR2 800
                GeForce9600GT 512MB DDR3 256bit
                Windows XP SP2
                Resolution is 1280 x 800

I posted this concern because Im a lil bit worried of some complains about the game having problems with amd processors. and i really want to play the game (in maxed settings) smoothly, otherwise, please suggest what parts should I change?. Please enlighten me!

                Thank you guys..

Assuming this will be plenty? What about the Quad core processor? Good choice/bad choice? I want to make sure I'll be able to play at ultra detail with no real skipping/stuttering.

WTF, what you have there is well beyond sufficient. That should definitely be able to play the game on the highest settings without any itches.

Thanks Moses... is there really any benefit to quad core over dual core? Will I notice a difference playing the game? In everyday activity on the PC?
