    Re: NBA 2k10 Wishlist

I read there was a system in NBA Live (no, obviously not a Live troll).. in which there is a system called "Synergy" where players have tendencies... like Bargnani would sit at the 3pt line 75% of the time rather than on the block all the time like currently in 2K9 just because he's a center/PF. The point is, I'd love for my shooting big man to stay at the 3pt line to start off the set rather than have to call a pick and pop and get him there. I hope all of you agree.

Another thing I wish, certain jumpshot animations leave you locked in for too long. Sometimes the ball bounces long off a miss and the shooter could have a great chance to rebound it, but he's still following through holding his hands in the air.

I just hope they let you break out of those animations quicker.

And I REALLY hope they fix fastbreaks. I had Chris Paul get stopped on a face break once cuz Carlos effin' Boozer ran in front of me. And to top it off, I kept going and he drew the charge. I was so pissed I tore my hair out.

      And I had a fade.

Fatigue to play a bigger part in offense, I don't want to see Kobe or Lebron windmilling in the paint when They are dead tired, I want jumpers to come up short, less effectiveness on defense..etc.

          • Replay camera. It would be nice if the camera didn't always follow the ball. If we could get more wide range shots that would be great.
          • Also more video time on the replays. Half the time the pass that sets up a dunk and the celebration afterward are cut off. It would be nice to see the whole play! Especially on the PC.

NBA 2K8 definitely had some nicer replay angles in this regard. I like that they will do the end-of-quarter highlights, but I prefer the 2K8 Gametrack (well, you could select blocks and steals, not just baskets), and 2K8 definitely had some better angles that set up the whole play.

For the Top 3 Plays especially, they should show off the whole play because half the time, I can't even tell what was happening. I just see a zoomed-in shot of a lay-up while the play was probably good because of its set-up.

              Make PC controls like 360/PS3

              Have online play for PC.

Copy or improve on Live 09's playcall system.

When a player fouls out, I would like the ability to actually choose who gets to sub in for them right away. The way it is currently, the CPU does it automatically, and for us to fix it to our liking, we have to call another timeout.

                  Re: NBA 2k10 Wishlist

                  - IF a player gets fouled hard, it should effect their performance at the freethrow line (or make free throws harder for the user)

                  - Not a necessity, but would be cool if they could add a feature where if you press a certain button and your opponent is on a fast break, it will cause a flagarant foul (you risk having your player ejected, but if he's on fire, why not take the risk and send a message? possibly change the momentum of the game if your player is not ejected and you're losing).

                  - more point guard control, guards like Tony Parker and CP3 can't feel completely useless offensively. Cuts/plays should play a more important role in controling an offense or the game tempo with your point guard. I never feel like my point guard's assists have any meaning or actually helped create a basket because I'm either going to give it to a wing player to score, shoot or try to initiate contact with my PG, or give it to my big man to score or kick it around

                  - Point guards can't be largely ineffective driving inside, any legit 7 footer in the game presents a problem. When challenged by a 7 footer, point guards with 99 layup ratings like Parker brick easy layups or simply get blocked by a mere 7 footer. This has to change. You rarely feel PGs impact going inside, I felt this was much richer in 2k8.

                  - More franchise control, let the player experience GM duties such as concession/ticket prices/marketing in order to increase fan base. If I take on a season with let's say Minnesota or Memphis, there is no way my seats should be sold out. By winning games, and marketing my team properly, I will put fans in the seats; which allows me to attract/lure big time free agents with big money and help my team win more games.

Don't know about you guys but I really want a superstar mode of some sort.
You should be able to make a rookie, get drafted by a franchise, and go from there.
Ive been wishing for that for years.

Coaching roles (different from coaching profiles)

How deep does a particular coach go into their bench? Does this coach play rookies? Do they panic when their team is in trouble and call a timeout?

Playing through an injury should affect the correct attributes
Risk for playing through an injury and not getting an MRI (for instance, if u should have the option to get an MRI to see if a bruise is really a broken bone. If u choose to play on the "bruise" and injure yourself more severely, there should be greater consequences). When an injury first occurs, u should have the option to sit the player for the rest of the game, or let him shoot his freethrows (in that situation), thus opening the option of him returning to the game. Whether u choose to play him is up to u, but playing him could make things much worse.

There are two tiers of attributes:

Skill Attributes (Shooting, Rebounding, Awareness, Defense, Passing, etc)

Physical Attributes (Dunks, Speed, Strength, Quickness, Vertical, Durability, Stamina, etc)

                        Only skill attributes should increase.

Depending on the player's position, certain attributes should get a bigger boost than the others (PGs increase passing, SG shooting, PF rebounding, etc)

A 99 potential should only be reserved for rookies (high potential rookies). So a player like Derek Rose may see his OVR rating increase by 5 his soph season, and maybe by 3 his 3rd season, by 1-2, 4th, up until he reaches age 30.

A lower potential player with a potential rating of 80, would see his OVR increase by maybe 2, with the progression getting lower each following year.

Once a player reaches 30, his potential should be 50, and thus starts the decline (physical attributes). Skills don't have to necessarily decrease, but lacking the physical attributes will make him worse anyway, so it balances out.

I haven't figured out player decline, so if anyone has suggestions, let me know.

                        Player retirement

There should be an addendum to the player values, such as his career satisfaction. SOme want to have a strong legacy statistically, others want rings, and some will play until they can't anymore.
I really hope my injury idea made it into the game. I suggested it way back in March. They're actually doing something similar to this in Madden this year. Also, some of the other things I HOPE is in the game are

Revamped Alley Oops - Not all oops are dunks, and also, I want some oops off the backboard, as well as oops to trailing players.

More realistic replays - 2K9 took a step in the right direction, but it still doesn't resemble a real NBA broadcast. The replays happen at the most random moments.

                        Player progression
                        - My idea was probably a little off base, but maybe the physical attributes should get a smaller boost than skill attributes. I do like my "player potential" suggestion. Once you pass age 30, your potential should be around 50. And since now ratings go from 25-99, anything below a 50 potential should show decline in ratings. A 50 potential should be that player's peak. However, if a player was 22 with a potential rating of 80, he may reach his peak sooner than someone who had a 99 potential from the outset.

                          Few ideas i'll quickly mention:

                          Summer League/ D-League:

Instead of having the pre-season where you use your regular roster. Insert the summer league and allow users the ability to test rookies and potential off-season signings before the season begins. If some of the free agents play well there value may rise and more teams will gain interest and price will rise.

With the D-League maybe allow user to control one D-League team and have the option to play their games.

                          Draft Day:

Show some of the top picks recieving their caps. Small interviews. Just to create a better atmosphere besides the pick your player then skip skip skip...

                          Dinner, session over.

In franchise mode in Madden 10 they have "EA Sports The Extra Point" and it is pretty nice. If NBA 2k10's Association mode had a feature or weekly or monthly show where it'd show highlights, live and current scores currently around the league (while you're in your game), Weekly game recaps, division standings, and up-coming games it would be an amazing add for Association mode.
