Agreed. I would really like if they added these and a whole lot more. The '93 Suns do not look right without these sun blasts.

I think the ability to contsruct and distribute Classic Rosters through the addition of 2KShare has given retro jerseys a much more practical use. Instead of selecting retro jerseys because we're feeling like it's about time for a turn-back-the-clock night, they're now needed for the sake of historical accuracy. The addition of more retros, alongside short length options, compression shorts (and the ability to wear compression shorts under short shorts shown below), goggles and any other historic details would be a welcomed addition in 2K10.

      Superstar mode...

Both Live and 2k is being quiet on this. Makes me wonder if it'll be another disappointing year for Basketball games.

Since the game is coming to the wii, i beg you for support of the classic controller and i also beg for graphics at least in the level of nba 2k7 for the xbox. Don't be cheap and simply port the ps2 version of the game to the wii , it would piss me off. If you're gonna do something (in the case, releasing the game to the wii), do it right.

Make it happen 2k, make it happen.

You don't know what you are talking about. Sim an association and I bet that every player in the top 12 for every team roster plays in 82 games. It is broken. Again you missed my point.

                Players finishing
                - With the shot stick, you can choose what hand they finish with. I don't want the CPU forcing me to finish with a certain hand, most NBA players can finish with either. You may just need to practice more. If anything they should give a seperate rating to each hand. e.g. Left hand finish 75, right hand finish 80, but you still have to choose which to use in each situation.
Have you played this game? The direction you use the shot stick doesn't control what hand you finish with. It controls how you will finish. I wish the shot stick controlled what hand a player finished with but it has never done that.
                Inbounding
                - This is a great idea in theory. But hard to implement without hampering the game. But one possible way would be (in singles play) Keep the SF in full court, as this is the most logical choice (C PF need to get back, SG may have to help on traps) but in the half court, don't send anyone to inbound, let the user select and go to the ball. In Team Up, very similar.
I am talking about inbound plays at the end of games. I should select who inbounds the ball. That is the fundemental element of basketball coaching in the NBA.

                  Re: NBA 2k10 Wishlist

Though I haven't read the thread what I find absolutely mind-boggling is that there have been 10 games so far and 2K sports has yet to put in a (user controlled) "hand-in-the-face" defensive maneuver. It's so ****ing simple, but it has yet to dawn on any one of them to incorporate it into the game. It's the lack of this that makes 3pt shooting so ridiculously effective.

*Tap Y (Triangle) to put your hand up and contest a shot without jumping. Tap it a second time or hold Y to jump and contest

It's so simple that the oversight actually pisses me off. I've mentioned it every year in suggestion threads and it goes unnoticed. It would take all of 20 minutes to code. Hell it's so simple it could be put in via game patch. Why an NBA game has been out for 10 years without this is beyond me.

-If a player makes an and 1 in a pressure situation (late 4th qtr, OT, playoffs) I want to see him get more intense.

-If a guy hits a game winner i want to hear the crowd sigh or somthing (if its away) if its home lets hear the crowd go absolutely nuts.

-Make the draft somthing to actually get siked about, the draft is sooo damn boring.

As far as I've seen this is the case. They could add more or 'special' excitement animations, but they do use what they have.

Edit draft picks. It's a bit time consuming, but when you know that there's actually talent in the draft it does get a bit more exciting. Though I wish they'd add a blind edit mode I tend to quickly forget guy's names so if I wanted to actually legitimately scout I could.

                        Re: NBA 2k10 Wishlist

I posted this in the 2KSports forums also, bc I feel like here and there are the main places to have our voices heard....

I've owned every single 2K, from 2K-2K2 on Dreamcast, and the rest on a MS system, and never have I been literally as ****ed off by a 2K game as I am with 2K9. I mean, I love this game, it looks beautiful on my 1080P set thru HDMI, and even with my gripes I will NOT ever jump ship for an inferior NBA Live... but PLEASE address these things and it will reach its potential:

                        1. GET RID OF CANNED ANIMATIONS THAT TAKE CONTROL FROM US that lead to either turnovers, fouls, or scores. Some of you say canned animations are necessary, and they are. But the two-player canned animations that make my defender just open the lane to a driving player, that make me jump out of position on that STUPID hesitation move, layup contest animations that make me foul or contest weakly.... GET RID OF EVERYTHING. I know Kobe and Lebron get to the lane in real life, but against good defensive teams they have to WORK for it. So make the Kobe/Lebron user WORK at least to get in the lane. Likewise, make the defender have to work to stay in front of them. But GET RID of the animations that give them the lane automatically.

                        2. This is something that I can honestly say it's the one thing that would actually make me skip 2K and get Live... THE BALL-YOU-MAN principle. I've played organized ball from rec league, to high school and D2 college, and it's the FIRST THING we ever learned in practice. When a defender's man is more than 1 pass away, he is in HELP SIDE. if the ball is on the left wing and his man is in the right corner, he should have a FOOT IN THE PAINT. Seems like something that is simple enough and would solve so many other complaints. But in 2K9, I drive with Wade and beat my man, and the defender in the corner guarding Chalmers stays glued to him. As someone who plays and watches the NBA religiously, this is one of the most glaring issues.

                        3. The paint has to be a tougher place. I see many of you asking for realistic physics, which is good for deflections, steals, etc... but I think even with the ease of scoring in the post, this can be remedied by simply making the paint a tougher place to navigate and get a shot up. In 2K9, players can pretty much catch a pass en route to the rim and waltz through pretty untouched for a layup. This is an area where you guys can go ahead and add tons of animations, even canned ones, just animations that represent that the paint in the NBA is a rough place. Make it so players trying to catch passes on backdoor cuts get bumped and lose it, players running through screens get constantly bumped and checked, and basically just have constant contact. Even away from the ball, too. Any of you watching the playoffs this year can reference how Kobe and Carmelo were basically wrestling down low, with Carmelo usually pushing Kobe out. Make post players have to fight for every inch, not just go stand under the rim untouched and catch passes all day for layups. I think the problem this year is that anyone can get great position without a fight, and finish with little to no contact animations. lol everyone's complaining about too many animations, but the lane needs tons more. Just watch ANY NBA game and watch how it is in the lane, people are fighting for position, and non-slashers/finishers RARELY just catch backdoor passes and finish over big men in traffic without tons of bumps/collisions... JUST MAKE THE PAINT ROUGH LIKE IRL

                        4. Watch an NBA game of Kobe, especially in the Finals(I DVR'ed most games), he catches it, faces up Pietrus, jab steps, pumpfakes, then just pops the J. It's quick, Pietrus can't really react because Kobe's shot is quick, but also because he had to respect Kobe's jab. In 2K this scenario is impossible because a) 90% of Players in 2K9 spend WAY too much time gathering and elevating, allowing the defender to recover. EVERYONE's shot for the most part needs to be SPED UP significantly, to give us that feeling of stopping n popping that the NBA is all about. Also, LET US POP UP for the J out the jab step move seamlessly so that it is useful, because as it is by the time you finish the jab animation, elevate and shoot, the defender regains the ground on you. Then there are players like Billups who is so damn deadly in the league for this very reason, that he just pops out of nowhere, in the halfcourt set, or even on fastbreak situations... I have hope for this to be fixed if for no other reason than Kobe being the cover boy this year, and midrange is his specialty.

Sorry for the long post, but I feel like there's a serious problem on both forums of definitely not enough posts dedicated to GAMEPLAY, and to me accurate gameplay trumps all. I don't care about towel boys, crowd animations, draft classes, association, none of that unless this thing plays like the real thing. Then, and ONLY then, will those things start to matter to me....

I wonder if Seattle and their Supersonics name are still open at all for NBA affiliation. That is, under any circumstances, would the Sonics jerseys and logo and/or court be available to use in Create-a-Team mode? The NHL 2K franchise made use of a number of their former teams' logos (the Nordiques, Rockies, and Seals among them) but I am unsure whether each of those clubs were still associated with their current iterations (Nordiques = Avalanche?). A handful of true classic logos were unlockable and useable for the Create-a-Team mode (and with fully customizable jerseys!). Not all logos were present (I think the city of Hartford may own the Whalers' rights and usage) but it was still a nice touch.

I'm not sure if I've seen this already in this thread, but I'd love it if the body types in CAP were consistent with the rookie generated ones.

In CAP, skinny is average, normal is thick, and huge is just...a bit too much. On the other hand the generated rookies have reasonable body types.

Copy, Live09's playcalling system by removing all of the playcalling art that comes on the screen and replace it with a flashing icon underneath the players.

I think having play art coming up on the screen has run it's course, and it doesn't belong anymore.

Atleast have an option to turn it off.

Playcalling in general needs to be simplified if possible.
