    Re: ASSOCIATION PROGRESS

I'm seriously contemplating whether I should move Kidd now. I'm only 2-0 to open the season but have tough games coming up against Cleveland and then against San Antonio the next night.

I just looked at Kidd's salary and there's no way I'm giving him a new deal at his age but at the sametime I don't want to just let him walk for nothing. If I put Kidd on the trading block, does that affect his morale and if so, is that something that'll get worse as the season progresses?

      Re: ASSOCIATION PROGRESS

I started another association and simulated to the point i'm at on my first one I am the Spurs my record is at 8-10. I am in the third year and have a decent group of guys I allow the assistants to handle my trades and signings still. I lost Ginobili and Oberto to the Kings I guess the assistants didn't wanna re-sign them but I got Sefalosha from the bulls I got James Jones from miami for Bobby Simmons and I also picked up Brendan Haywood and Leon Powe. My starting lineup is 1.Tony Parker who has decided to become a free agent this year his final year. 2.Thabo Sefalosha who is a lot better than I thought he would be. 3.James Jones a good shooter for when they double Duncan. 4.Tim Duncan no explanation needed he's still one of the best. 5.Kurt Thomas who has been a good rebounder and decent scorer for me.

        Re: ASSOCIATION PROGRESS

I am almost to the Playoffs and with Tony Parker testing the free agency this offseason I will likely try to bring in a good free agent there are a number of them available for me to get. To name a few I can get Amare, Dirk, Chandler, O'neal, Bosh, Lebron, of the few I named which would you guys go after first?

A thread back you said you're getting Kidd a ring, and two games in you want to trade him...Why not let him walk? I don't see whats wrong w/ that. Besides he probably won't even want nearly as much as he is getting now. The player tendencies are tuned this yr so that some guys will sign for less if they feel they have a chance for a championship w/ that team.

He isn't going to find a better situation either. He's a perfect fit on Dallas w/ the way that team is formed, and the short window they have to finally bring home a title.

Keep him...see what he wants in the offseason, and if you can't live w/ that salary then move on and draft your PG of the future.

Dang...what pick were you? That starting 5 is terrible, but I bet they present a fun challenge of trying to win w/ them.

              Re: ASSOCIATION PROGRESS

Played two games in my 76ers association last night. They were December 12th and 13th games @ CLE and vs WAS respectively.

The 1st of the two, the gm in CLE was Elton Brand's 1st gm back since being out w/ bone spurs for 4-6 weeks.

I had got out to an early in the 1st qtr and finished that qtr up by 5. Cleveland proceeds to outscore me by 10 in the 2nd qtr (28-18), to take a lead by 5 at the half, 54-49.

The 2nd half I got blown out. Cleveland scored 77 2nd half points destroying me 131-98. It was a horrible 3rd qtr...Iggy couldn't hit the broad side of a barn, everyone was turning the ball over, and Wally & Lebron caught fire from beyond the arc. They went up by 25 at the end of the 3rd, and that was it...simulated to the end on that one.

Not the way I wanted to welcome Elton Brand back, but that would change at home vs Washington.

In the home gm versus the Wiz I got out to a big lead early, being up by 18 at one point. The Wizards never lead in this gm. Arenas was really off in the 1st qtr, and no one else was doing much either. Plus my D was stifiling them...I created 7 1st qtr turnovers which helped me get out to that big lead.

I swear...Thaddeus Young is a diamond in the rough. Almost every gm I play he ends up being my leading scorer. I can knock down jumpers w/ him w/ outstanding consistency, he gets to the line, he can slash, and his stroke from the 3 pt line is outstanding.

In the Wizards gm mentioned above he scored 31 going 3-5 from 3pt, 4-5 from FT, and 12-18 from the field. He only had 1 board, 3 assists, and a steal but his scoring ability is just amazing....and he's only 20. I'm going to have an awesome time w/ him for yrs to come.

To finish I beat Washington 117-110. They cut it close late in the 4th after I had taken out Iggy, Brand, Sammy, and Thaddeus and brought in Royal Ivey, Willie Green, and others to mop up the win.

So w/ a loss @ Cleveland and win at hm vs WAS my record is once again at .500 standing at 12-12. I expect to win my next 3 games (Mil @ hm, away Was, Indy @ hm). Hopefully winning those 3 in a row will push me past NY and NJ who are hovering around at .500 too, and put me clear in 2nd place in the Atlantic.

After those 3 gms my Sixers go on a tough 6 gm road trip playing in order:

              Boston
              Denver
              Utah
              LAC
              Dallas
              San Antonio

If I can split that road trip I'll be happy, and if I only drop 1 or 2 games I'll be really REALLY happy!

I had a top 3 pick the first round, so I always pick my favorite player Ray Allen, Ray never makes it out the first round so I always grab him. In addition I dont draft any player ranked above 90. In addition I like the challenge of building a team the way an expansion team probably would. Like you said I like the challenge. I intentionally stay under the cap so I have the flexibilty to make moves. I also drafted about 4 players with expiring contracts, etc.

what i started doing to avoid this was start devoloping players when i first boot up the game and system. after that all was good. hope it helps!

Ouch...that is a tough roady coming up. I better get MY sixer team right before I hit that stretch!

I agree with you on Thad (minus the 3 point shot)...i don't think I have hit one with him YET. He does have a perfect stroke to shoot with tho. I am money from the line with him.

What Thad is to you, Lou Williams has been for me. I was playing OKC last night, but did not get to finish due to a game freezing 'jump ball' glitch. I was down by 13 in the 4th at the time...so i guess i can consider this a lucky pass. But up until the freeze, Lou Williams was leading the way once again. Andre Miller, suprisingy, was playing very well also. It was nice to see him contribute....I guess he was getting worried about losing his starting spot to Lou . But other than that, I had no offense. All my starters fatigued very quickly this game, I am guessing due to us being on the road at Indiana the previous night. Man, Durant is almost unstoppable in this game. I will have a second chance against him, but he was just tearing it up before the freeze.

Oh, and Daly is really starting to annoy me with how fast he gets tired. He needs to get his a$$ in shape if he wants to continue to play for us because Speights is waiting to take his spot!

You're not hitting 3's w/ Thad??? Man...he's knocking'em down for me. I can count on him to hit more often that Lou. I've started to get Rush going too...He's an asset once you've got his jumper down.

Yea...Dalembert and Ratliff...Both get tired too fast and then stay tired too long.

In the gm I won last night vs WAS I had a nice lead w/ about 3 minutes left, and called a TO to take out Dalembert, Iggy, and Williams. I wanted to put Ratliff in @ C and the guys fatigue was still at two bars. I was like how could this be??? He had played about 5 minutes in the middle of the 3rd which gave him about 13 minutes total since he gave about 6 or so in the 2nd. Here it is the 4th qtr w/ 3 minutes left, probably 3-4 timeouts had been called since Ratliff was taken out late in the 3rd, and w/ 3 minutes left he has 2 bars of fatigue???

I ended up putting Speights in @ C, Leaving Evans @ PF, brought in Rush @ SF, Green @ SG, and Ivey @ PG. I had a 12 pt lead, and won by 7 so they got the job done on mop up duty.

I actually can't wait till Dalembert is in the final yr of his contract in my association because I will be trading him immediately. He is my least favorite player to play w/ on the team. My plan is to draft the best C available in the upcoming draft, and groom that player to be my starter when I trade away Dalembert. I'm looking for a lot more size at C too...

I started a Bobcats thread in the dynasty section so hopefully everyone will have a chance to follow. I am going to play a game everyday that the Bobcats play.

I can shoot jumpers with him fine....he is money with his mid range game. But 3's is another story. I don't even get any bars lit up in my "range meter" when I am pass the 3 point line with him. I really need to go out and find me a 3pt shooter. I am thinking I am going to do the unthinkable and make a trade for J.J. Reddick.

LOL, me and you think alike in regards to Daly. Yeah, Theo gets tired fast too and what pisses me off is that they are both already complaining about playing time. I am really hoping Speights develops kind of fast so I can get him in the starting lineup. Daly does absolutely nothing for me but take up space in the middle.

JJ Reddick...Hmmm...Too undersized for me. Maybe give Rush a little more time. I've been getting a lot from him, and I'm even pondering offering him an extension if he wants want during the yr, or maybe resigning him in the offseason if his demands are reasonable.

Its taking all of my discipline to not want to move Dalembert right now. I want to play w/ this sixers team as is to at least the deadline (if I do decide to move Miller). I can't stand Dalembert's contract, and I look forward to moving him in the last yr of it.

I hope to contend for a championship for the entire 5 yrs I have Brand, Williams, and Igoudala under contract. As much as I DO love Thaddeus Young...I would definitely entertain a deal sending him and Dalembert and whatever else would be required to bring in someone like Dwayne Wade or for that matter a Superstar SG/Center on a struggling team.

My future plan is to draft the best SG or C available, develop him as much as I can his rookie yr or before he's 22 (whichever comes first), and hopefully have him ready to be the starter in 2010-11 so I can bring in Wade, Arenas, or a superstar SG or C on a struggling team (depending on what position I draft).

I'm not going to lie. A shooter like JJ intrigues me. Yes he is probably Craig Hodges without MJ, but I think I can run some plays for him. He will be a defensive liability, but I am comfortable enough with the defensive players that would be around him enough to maybe be able to hide him on D. But, this is all just talk for now....not going to pursue this trade possibility just yet.

I will say that Rush did get some time in my last 2 games (after pretty much ignoring him in my first 7...and he did contribute with a couple of 3's. Maybe I should start including him more in the offense? We'll see. I've just never been too much of a Kareem Rush fan.

Love your plan on going after wade. I was planning to go hard after a superstar after year 1 as well. I will have to look at their contracts, but I was thinking of bringing T-Mac to Philly! We'll see.

I never really looked at Daly's contract. Is it that bad? I will have to take a look at it tonite. I am so conflicted with Andre Miller its not even funny. I think I will end up dealing him sooner than later...especially with my slow start (2-7)
