I never really looked at Daly's contract. Is it that bad? I will have to take a look at it tonite. I am so conflicted with Andre Miller its not even funny. I think I will end up dealing him sooner than later...especially with my slow start (2-7)
My plan isn't just limited to Wade...He is who I'm really interested in, but if Miami is doing good by 2010-11 in my assoc. I'm not going to mess w/ what they've got going. I'll mainly be looking to land the superstar on a struggling team who may or may not be in the final yr of their contract.

Vince Carter could fall into that boat too, although he would be a little older than I'd like by then (33), Carmelo comes to mind too if Denver is horrible, Dirk could be a possibility if Dallas isn't doing anything, Yao Ming if Houston is sucking....

Dalembert's contract is horrible, especially when you consider that hes the 3rd highest paid player on the team only making $64k less this yr than Igoudala.

Chris Kaman of LAC is an even better sized C, and does everything Sammy can do at only $9.5mil this yr which is almost $2mil less than Dalembert. Plus he's a yr younger.

Billy King signed Willie Green, Kyle Korver, and Sammy D to horrible contracts...BUT...he did draft Louis Williams AND Thad Young.

I can't wait till 2010-11 in my association. If I haven't won a title by then the team I'll put together then, moving Dalembert and Young, will be the team to do it. It will almost be like the Celtics adding KG to solidfy them as the favorite in the East. Thats what this move will do for me....

I decided to trade Kurt Thomas for Roy Hibbert since Kurt was in his final year and Darren Williams was not happy in Utah so I did the unthinkable and traded Tony Parker for him who was gonna be a free agent anyway my team exploded when I picked up Williams everybodys numbers have gone up already.

I had Robert Swift on the trading block since I figure I don't need him with my other big men playing so well, and the Celtics offered me Perkins and Glen Davis for him. I took it and now my inside game will be a lot better with Perkins starting instead of Petro.

        PG - Westbrook
        SG - Durant
        SF - Green
        PF - Wilcox
        C - Perkins
        NHL: Ottawa Senators
        NBA: Oklahoma City Thunder
        NFL: New Orleans Saints
        MLB: New York Yankees
CFL: BC Lions - I want my Rough Riders back!

The player tendencies are tuned this yr so that some guys will sign for less if they feel they have a chance for a championship w/ that team.

He isn't going to find a better situation either. He's a perfect fit on Dallas w/ the way that team is formed, and the short window they have to finally bring home a title.

Keep him...see what he wants in the offseason, and if you can't live w/ that salary then move on and draft your PG of the future.
A little bit of overreaction on my part. Don't know why I'm doing that, especially after 3 games lol. I guess that's what happens when your backups are contributing more than you are lol.

            Re: ASSOCIATION PROGRESS

So yea...suffered my first loss of the season @ home against the Cavs. We got off to a good start in the 1st, with Kidd having his way with Mo Williams as he scored the first 8 points for us and led us to an early 22-20 lead. But after that, the James Gang decided take over for now. Big Z was dominating Diop and Dampier on the rebounding end, while Delonte West and Wally Szczerbiak were quietly lighting me up from the outside. Started to make a run at the end of the 3rd quarter as Jason Terry hit a 3 at the buzzer and that would be the first of 3 straight he would hit and I got as close as 2. But that was not enough as Prince James took over and led his team to victory 93-87.

            EDIT: Forgot to add stats

                Re: ASSOCIATION PROGRESS

I finally started an association using the OS Outsider roster. Three games in so far and the games were outstanding. No trades or anything, but I may look to deal Blake for a pick or something.

Game 1 – Lost 104 – 111 at the Lakers. Got down early but a huge 3rd quarter from B. Roy got me back into the game. I was up 8 with 6 minutes to play when Kobe decided to absolutely take over. I kept him in check for most of the game, but the last 6 minutes was a whole different story.

                B. Roy – 32 Pts – 4 Reb – 4 Asst (13-24 FG)
                G. Oden – 14 Pts – 11 Reb
                L. Aldridge – 14 Pts – 10 Reb
                R. Fernandez – 12 Pts

                K. Bryant – 36 Pts – 6 Reb – 5 Asst (1326 FG)
                A. Bynum – 23 Pts – 18 Reb (career high)
                D. Fisher – 20 Pts – 4 Asst (5-21 FG – 7-10 FT)

Game 2 – Won 137 – 135 3OT vs Spurs – An instant classic. In regulation, this was a game of runs; with each team holding a double digit lead at some point. With .02 left in regulation, B. Roy missed a game winner and we headed to overtime. Both teams traded buckets in OT. With OT winding down, M. Webster hit a deep 3 at the buzzer to send the game into 2OT. At the end of the second OT, I was up by 3 (after a R. Fernandez jumper) when M. Ginobili hit a clutch running 3 to send the game to a third OT. Both teams continued to trade buckets until, with the score tied at 135, B. Roy missed a game winner with .03 left. G. Oden grabbed the rebound and is immediately fouled. The big guy goes to the line and calmly hits both FT to put us up by 2. Ginobili, who was unstoppable, hits a DEEP 3 after the buzzer had sounded – NO GOOD! Hopefully that was some home cookin' with the game clock.

                B. Roy – 36 Pts – 4 Reb – 8 Asst (14-27 FG)
                M. Webster – 24 Pts – 6 Reb (3-6 3PT)
                G. Oden – 18 Pts – 12 Reb
                J. Bayless – 4 Pts – 8 Asst.

                M. Ginobili – 46 Pts – 7 Reb (14-28 FG – 6-11 3PT)
                T. Duncan – 23 pts – 14 Reb

Game 3 – Lost 124 – 134 at Suns – An absolute shootout. The Suns put up 51 points in the first quarter and I had to run and gun just to catch up. I don’t recall the exact totals, but the Suns were near 50% from the arc. The pace for the Suns wasn’t that quick, but they just never missed. It's not listed with the stats, but I shut down Amare, but paid the price. He scored 3 pts but had 9 assist. Most of those were kick outs to either a wide-open Bell or Nash.

                G. Oden – 31 Pts – 7 Reb – 4 ***
                B. Roy – 25 Pts – 6 Asst
                R. Fernandez – 18 Pts
                J. Bayless – 13 Pts – 5 Reb – 8 Asst

                R. Bell – 40 Pts (15-23 FG – 8-11 3PT)
                S. Nash – 40 Pts – 20 Asst (9-15 3PT)
                L. Barbosa – 30 Pts – 5 Reb – 6 Asst
                S. Oneal – 8 Pts – 15 Reb

After three great games to start the season, some early season trends are starting to develop. J. Bayless has outplayed both S. Rodriguez and S. Blake despite getting fewer minutes. And while Rudy has put up decent numbers, he is shooting a very low percentage. I am finding that my best lineup to close out games is sliding Roy to the point and putting Rudy in the SG spot. Although that may have been because Blake had been so horrible.

Thanks guys for indulging me with my long post.

My record is now 20-9 on the season. I haven't made any trades yet, but Damon Stoudamire, who I had signed a few games in, is asking for a trade so I'll do the best I can with that.

Only trade I've seen in my association was when the Lakers sent Derek Fisher to the Hawks for Zaza Pachulia.

But then again, I'm only 5 games into my association.

I love this game but you really have to watch just how much you rip off the cpu. Just out of curiosity i did some trades with the heat and my team after a few weeks is:

                      C: Bogut
                      PF: Bease
                      SF: G Wallace
                      SG: JRich
                      PG: Wade
                      6th man: Yi

Anybody using the Mavs? I like how this year it allows you to resign your position and pick from every team instead of just the worst teams like last year.

Awesome thread. New to these forums (have lurked), but not to NBA2k9. Love this game.

I usually start an association with a rebuilding team, but it was too hard not to start one with my boys. (Boston Celtics)

First game: Boston vs. Cleveland: I shot well, but I couldn't stop Cleveland for my life. Five Cavs players scored in double digits, led by LeBron who put up 30. Pavlovic added 20 off the bench. KG led Boston with 31, but I simply could not play defense. Cleveland won 124-108.

I took a minute off the quarter time after this game also.

Second game: Boston vs. Chicago: This was a great game. Tied 52-52 at the half, I took an 80-74 lead after 3. Chicago tied it up on a late run, but trailed 100-97 with 4.3 seconds left. The inbounds went to Derrick Rose, who rushed down the court, and pulled up from 30 feet away: swish! Overtime. Chicago led 114-112, I hit KG in the low post with 3 seconds left, turn around jumper.... no good! Bulls win 114-112.

Third game: Boston down one, 5 seconds left in overtime. The inbounds goes to Ray Allen. Allen fakes, drives to the hole, jump steps and fades away, for the win! ... no good. Pacers prevail 114-113.

Despite an 0-3 start, I had lost back to back OT games by a combined 3 points, so I wasnt too worried.

Game four: Who knew my losing streak would be snapped in a blowout win over the Rockets? Held Yao to 16 and 9, Artest scored only 15. Only 7 Rockets scored. KG put up 30 and 14 for Boston. Gabe Pruitt helped with 12 points and 6 boards off the bench. 10 for Tony Allen, 8 for Leon Powe, 7 for JR Giddens. Boston wins 107-90.

Game five: The Thunder are terrible. I led by 22 at the half, but struggled in the second, resulting in a 106-93 Boston victory. 11 Boston players scored (Sorry, JR). Powe scored 17, Pruitt and O'Bryant combined for 21. House and Tony Allen combined for 17. Bill Walker pitched in with 5! Paul Pierce led the way with 19, just 8 points for KG. The starters played saw very limited action.

Game six: Boston erases a 2 point deficit in the 4th en route to a 101-94 win over Milwaukee. 24 and 13 for KG. Paul Pierce was big down the stretch, he scored 20. This was a weird game. Boston led 33-17 after the 1st, but trailed 69-67 after three.

Currently 3-3, entering a stretch wih 5 games in 7 days, starting against the Pistons.
