    Re: ASSOCIATION PROGRESS

    Cleveland Cavaliers Association

    Simmed 08-09 season:
Cavs go 15-14, are the #6 seed in the playoffs
Cavs lose to the #3 Raptors in the first round (2-1)
Utah Jazz win the NBA Championship
Carlos Loozer is the MVP (Ok this is ridiculous...f'n dookie)
Jerry Sloan hangs it up and rides into the sunset
Mike Dunleavy, George Karl, and Rick Adelman retire

    MVP - Dwight Howard, ORL
    ROY - Derrick Rose, CHI
6th Man - Lamar Odom, LAL
Defensive POY - Dwight Howard, ORL

LeBron James - All-NBA First Team
    30.2 PPG, 7.8 RPG, 6.1 APG, 50.4% FG, 34.3% 3PT, 66.2 FT%

    Off-season stuff

C Zydrunas Ilgauskas accepts his player option for $11.54M
C Anderson Varejao declines his player option for $6.21M

SG Wally Szczerbiak is not re-signed
PF Ben Wallace decided to test free agency (???)
C Lorenzen Wright is not re-signed
C Anderson Varejao decided to test free agency

PF Ben Wallace signed to a 1-year deal

Cleveland drafts C Ian North (73) with the 19th pick in the 1st round and SF Gregg Robins (66) with the 19th pick in the 2nd round

    09-10 Lineup
    PG - Maurice Williams (83)
    SG - Delonte West (81)
    SF - LeBron James (99)
    PF - Ben Wallace (75)
    C - Zydrunas Ilgauskas (82)

    Bench
    PG - Daniel Gibson (76)
    SG - Sasha Pavlovic (74)
    SG - Terrence Kinsey (74)
    SF - Gregg Robins (66)
    PF - J.J. Hickson (72)
    PF - Darnell Jackson (70)
    PF - Jawad Williams (69)
    C - Ian North (73)

    Thoughts...
The team didn't get any better but I had no flexibility to make the team better. Mo Williams and LBJ are two great building pieces and after this year I'm looking to free up some major cap space so I can attack the FA market. LBJ has a player option he may or may not accept so barring what he does we'll see what happens. Ian North and J.J. Hickson look like they could be solid big men in the future for me. Gibson looks to be a great bench guy for the long haul.

I'm gonna sim the 09-10 season as well so I can do some more work to make the team better. I took a step backwards and there's no way the Cavs win the title this season.

      No bench what-so-ever....

As long as LBJ is healthy you should be good, but there is nothing to speak of on that bench...n-o-t-h-i-n-g...nothing.

        6th Man - Baron Davis, LAC (???)
Defensive POY - Dwight Howard, ORL

LeBron James - All-NBA First Team - All-Defensive First Team

*What a great season and a nice improvement over last year*

        Off-season stuff

Cleveland Fires Head Coach Mike Brown!!!
        - The team needs a new direction and they are going to bring in a proven veteran head coach.

Cleveland Hires Larry Brown as their new Head Coach
        *3 year deal @ $3.80M
        - He's won over 1,000 games in the NBA and is a great teacher. He is already in the Hall of Fame and gets to take the reigns over the best player in the league.

Cleveland accepts the option on SF Gregg Robins for $486K

        SF LeBron James is re-signed!!!
        5 years + 1 year player option and a no-trade clause
$16.15M 1st year then 10% back. Gave him the max contract.

PF Antonio McDyess is signed to a 1-year deal @ $2.40M
C/PF Rasheed Wallace is signed to a 1-year deal @$4.75M

*I missed out on C/PF LaMarcus Aldridge to the Kings. I gave him the max contract offer but he opted for Sacramento. Total BS!

Cleveland drafts SG Joey Hill (71) with the 20th pick in the 1st round

10-11 Lineup (age - ovr - # of years left on contract)

        PF - Antonio McDyess (36 - 75 - 1)
        C - Rasheed Wallace (36 - 79 - 1)

        Bench

        PF - Darnell Jackson (24 - 70 - 1)
        PF - Jawad Williams (28 - 69 - 1)
        C - Ian North (21 - 76 - 1)

        Thoughts...
Honestly I really like this team. If I had signed Aldridge in free agency I would be the clear favorite but I had to settle for a couple veterans. Wallace and McDyess are still solid players but they aren't game changers. 2nd year center Ian North looks like he is going to blossom into a great player and J.J. Hickson is pegged as the power forward of this franchise. Both are pretty athletic big men who can play D and score.

Rookie Joey Hill doesn't look too bad. He can shoot a little and should be fine coming off the bench. I have a solid 9-man rotation set up and I'm ready to get things started, finally!

What do you guys think of the moves and the current roster?

I'm liking those moves. Rasheed and McDyess are both good pick ups, you don't really need their scoring but their toughness downlow will allow Lebron to play D by the three point line a lot and get some easy fast breaks. Your bench is getting better, but it isn't quite there yet. Give it another year or two and you should be winning championships left and right.

I'm assuming you meant that Boozer got the Finals MVP? Two years in a row? Does that mean he left the Jazz and went to Portland?

Aldridge would've made me a contender. LeBron is SO good that he might be able to take me there on his ability alone. Defensively I really like my squad.

Yea Boozer usually opts out after the first year and Portland is a team with PLENTY of cap space after year 1. He won it with Utah and then jumped ship to Portland where he won yet another Finals MVP. I hate dook...and that made me sick!

Yea, if you had signed Lamarcus, you would've been a contender, for sure. Like you said, Lebron should be able to take you there himself but it's always nice to have a second superstar.

I dislike Boozer for the way he acts in real life, but in the game, he's a beast. He's been great for my Jazz association and is in the top three of the MVP race.

I finally beat the Rockets! Man, that's so nice to finally get a win against those guys. They killed me in the first two meetings of the season but I finally got the best of them. I jumped out to an early ten point lead and never let go of the lead, although they did make a couple pushes that scared me. AK-47 and Boozer each had 20 points, Brewer had 18 and CJ Miles came off the bench to get me 16 points. I held Yao to 8 points and he sat a lot of the game. T-Mac wasn't involved at all and only scored 13. I'm still scared to face them in the playoffs but having a win against them is nice.

That win gives me my sixth in a row to boost my record with the Jazz to 41-20, half a game behind the Rockets in the west and six games above the Nuggets, who I play next.

That's what I am talking about. It's a game and it feels just as if you are on the court. There is deep enough competition to where you feel satisfaction from a win. I am the Nuggets and I feel that way about the............Lakers

Oh yeah, it's actually nice to see a Jazz fan that is from Utah. Most of the people I meet from Utah don't even like the Jazz. I'm like, "Do you really have a choice? Y'all don't have one pro team(I think) so it's either college or the Jazz".

Lost my 4th game in a row .. to the Pacers. It was a tightly close contested game and we were tied at 96 with 12 secs to go.

I went for the "bullish backcourt" play to give the Jet an open free throw line jumper since he went hot in the 4th and kept me in the game with his shooting.

And well, it totally worked out. Open jumper, a nice lil leaner and it went in with 4 secs to go.

Pacers inbounded to Granger. I bit on his fake with Bass (Dirk had already fouled out) and he simply put the three into the basket with 0.5 secs left.

35 points for damn Danny Granger. I couldnt believe it. Im 6-7 or 6-8 now. Damn.

Won my first game with the Cavs 93-90 on the road against the talented Lakers.

LBJ had 27 pts, 12 boards, 6 assists, and 2 steals. Boobie Gibson hit 5/6 from deep and had 18 off the bench and Sheed had 16 and 6.

Kobe was awful, shooting 4-14 and Mike James decided to try and take over by shooter 10+ 3's.

Bynum and Gasol were good down low and they had several second chance buckets.

It was a very fun game but I need to lower the CPU 3pt tendency from 50 to around 30. Next game is against the Nuggets.

Rookie Joey Hill sprained his ankle so he's out 2-4 weeks. Kobe hacked the **** out of him on a lay up attempt!
