    Re: ASSOCIATION PROGRESS

I love reading about your guys' Associations. It's also very helpful for us as far as making improvements to the mode.

General issues aside (We know what needs doing here), how do you feel about the new things that were added into Association in 2K9? This would include the likes of NBA.com, Player Ambitions, etc. What do you like? What don't you like?

If anyone has time to comment on specific existing features, I would appreciate the feedback.

I love it all. All of the stuff on NBA.com is very helpful. The only thing I could complain about is that the interface is still somewhat confusing.

        Re: ASSOCIATION PROGRESS

        Awesome thread.

I played my first season with the actual Mavs roster. got bumped by the Spurs in the 1st round (Dirk went 7/26 in game 6) and decided to really shake things up.

Howard and a 1st rounder for Gerald Wallace and Adam Morrison
        Stackhouse for Nocioni
Morrison on traded for Kyle Korver.

Unfortunately Bass and Green did not want to sign with me, which hurt my team and my feelings. I signed Damn Stoudamire, LaFrentz, Malik Rose and Adrian Griffing to fill out my roster

Starting the 2nd year, at 7-4.

        Kidd (9ppg, 6rpg, 11apg, 32%FG), Barea (7ppg,5apg)
        Wallace (16ppg, 5rpg, 2.5spg, 1bpg), Jason Terry (22ppg off the bench)
        Nocioni (17ppg, 5 rpg, 46%3FG), Korver (8ppg)
        Nowitzki (25ppg, 10rpg) Singleton (2ppg, 5rpg)
        Diop (1ppg, 4rpg), Dampier (1ppg, 3rpg)

This team in real life would be a contender. Im offering Diop and Dampier on the trading block because they are giving me nothing. When im playing teams without post scoring, I go with no center and play Nowitzki/Nocioni/Wallace/terry/Kidd. Thats my best lineup

I notice progressive fatigue is having a real impact. At the start of the year I was putting 110ppg, now after some back to backs and having lots of old players that has come back to 95ppg

season 6 with the Atlanta Hawks. 29 game season, fantasy draft.
I have yet to have a winning season.
this past off season I was about 15 million under the cap and could not land a franchise player.
Only key signings was back up pg-Hart and SG/SF Peterson.

I just traded my starting pg Ronnie Price and next years first round pick for Marbury. I got offered a trade Ariza for Peterson, and I accepted the trade.

          my current line up

          pg- Stephon Marbury
          sg- Richard jefferson
          sf- Kyle Korve
          pf- Tom Duncan
          c- Marcus Camby

          bench-
Ariza, Hart, Hibbert, Wilcox, Knox (a #1 pick this past off season), Goodman( a #4 pick 2 seasons ago), another center and rookie pg who are bench warmers.

Hot kidd, you seem a bit short at SG, May i suggest shipping Diop to the bobcats for, lets say.. carroll and throw in Hollins as a backup centre.

Whoa, that's a jaw dropping Earth shattering deal.

No way would that happen in real life, so I wont do it in my season.

                Re: ASSOCIATION PROGRESS

I finished my 1st season with the Sixers, beat the Mavs in the championship in 5 games. My off-season was straight SICK! I wanted to unload some of my players that weren’t getting PT but were getting high contracts. Sam Dalembert who is my starting center doesn’t do much on the offensive side but can rebound and block but was getting paid way too much for me, Willie Green didn’t get much PT this year and was making 3.6 mil, and Reggie Evans as well was getting 4.5 mil. So I put them out there for picks and some lower salary players so I could free up some cap space and go after Carlos Boozer in FA but he signed QUICK with the Blazers who gave him more than I could afford. I let Andre Miller go in FA and then went after Mike Bibby (85 overall) who I got so as of right then my starting 5 was :ffice:office" /><O></O>
                <O> </O>
                PG- Mike Bibby<O></O>
                SG – Andre Igoudala<O></O>
                SF – Thaddeus Young<O></O>
                PF – Elton Brand<O></O>
                C – Mareese Speights<O></O>
                <O> </O>
So during FA, I got some offers for the trades for Dalembert (3rd overall pick in the entire draft!! From the Grizzlies where I picked a Potential A - Center, 77 overall), Green (1st round pick in 2010 from the Heat), and Reggie Evans…you won’t believe this and I really don’t understand it but it seems like they are trying to clear cap room to go after someone big the next season…the Thunder traded me Kevin Durant, Jeff Green, and a 2010 2nd round pick!!! I was like WTF!!! And I accepted immediately! With that my off-season was complete! I have kind of a hole at the Center position though, my starters going into the next season is:
                <O</O
                PG- Mike Bibby<O></O>
                SG – Andre Igoudala<O></O>
                SF – Kevin Durant<O></O>
                PF – Thaddeus Young<O></O>
                C – Elton Brand<O></O>
                <O</O

                My Bench:
                Lou Williams
                Jeff Green
                Mareese Speights
                Jason Smith
                Donyell Marshall
                Rookie PF
                Rookie G
                Rookie C

After a few games, I’m 4-3, but Brand is only avging 5.3 pts, 7.7 rebs so I think I might have to move him to his original position and have Thaddeus come off the bench and start Speights at the center. We’ll see, but I’m into it even more now that I have this squad! Any suggestions? I might put Jeff Green on the block...

I accidentally deleted my Blazers franchise, so I've got to start a new one. That Blazers franchise is one of the most fun out of any franchise I've done on any other game.

The teams I'm thinking about playing with are Chicago, Indiana, and Atlanta.

Mayo and Rudy Gay are definitely the heart and soul of my team, and as they go, we go. However, I really need to acquire some help on the block this offseason. I've cleared enough cap space by moving Darko and taking on some expiring contracts to really make a run in free agency for either Boozer or Al Jefferson. My lineup, as of now, is as follows...

                        PG - Mike Conley/Kyle Lowry/Marko Jaric
                        SG - O.J. Mayo/Kyle Weaver/Marko Jaric
                        SF - Rudy Gay/Marko Jaric/Antoine Walker
                        PF - Hakim Warrick/Darrell Arthur/Stromile Swift
                        C - Marc Gasol/Stromile Swift

All four of my big men play about the same amount of minutes per game, but none of them seem to be able to lock up opposing big men or grab enough rebounds. Arthur has really done well as of late, and has put up a couple of 15+ point games. I'm thinking about sending Warrick and Walker somewhere for another big in the offseason.

I'd also like more of a factor at PG. Conley has been solid, but he really doesn't bring much to the table besides his 5 APG. He botches layups frequently, and is very ineffective with his jumper. I don't exactly need a scorer at point guard, but it'd be nice to have somebody that can hit the open three and play lockdown defense. Any ideas?
Im in my 3rd year w/ Griizz. I started to play Jaric a little more. Your right about Conley, but he can get it to the big boys on the wing thou. Jaric hits open shots and can play the point. He's got good size and seems to be able to play more then capable D. Do yourself a Favor and play arthur and Warrik together in the frontcourt and w/ Gay and mayo in backcourt as much as you can, they really can run teams out of the building if you go uptempo....

My roommate and I started an association with a fantasy draft. We're about 10 games deep into it. The other day I saved over my Blazers association.

These are my Golden State Warriors:

                            PG: Lou Williams, Ramon Sessions
                            SG: Mike Miller, John Salmons
SF: Caron Butler, Donte Greene, Walter Herrmann
PF: LaMarcus Aldridge, David Lee, Darrell Arthur
C : Joel Pryzbilla, Robin Lopez

I had one of the last picks in the draft. So far we are 5-8.

Took over the Charlotte Bobcats. Currently in Year 2 with a 3-1 record.

                              My lineup looks like:

                              PG:
DJ Augustin (9.3 PPG, 8.5 APG)
Tyrese Rice (10.5 PPG, 7.8 APG)

                              SG:
                              Raja Bell (8.3 PPG)
                              Daequan Cook (11.8 PPG)

                              SF:
Gerald Wallace (24.5 PPG, 6.3 RPG)
Trevor Ariza (5.8 PPG, 3.8 RPG)

                              PF:
Boris Diaw (8.5 PPG, 4.5 RPG)
                              Hakim Warrick (2.0 PPG)

                              C:
Emeka Okafor (16.0 PPG, 6.5 RPG, 2.0 BPG)
Hasheem Thabeet (5.5 PPG, 7.5 RPG, 4.0 BPG)

As you can see, I have great scoring guards coming off the bench, and Ariza and Thabeet are great defensive players. For those who don't know, Tyrese Rice (PG from BC) and Hasheem Thabeet (C from UConn) are both rookies. I'm comfortably 9-deep (Warrick doesn't get much burn).
