    Re: NBA 2K10 PC thread

I'm needing some help here. Before I start playing My Player, what settings are best? It's not like setting up an association, so how many minutes to simmed games do? How many minutes are the other teams playing?

      ah just noticed that...

in mac os x don't you have to "turn on" the 9600 in the settings to use it? not sure if its recognized right away when booting windows.

the DDR2 667 needs to be taken out, keep the DDR2 800 and just use those OR buy two more IDENTICAL sticks.

do you guys know how the game will update/ patch/ install new rosters? i posted earlier asking about patches, but now im more asking about the rosters. cause i want to get the steam version and want to know if, like for roster updates at least, are we downloading directly from 2k or does it go through steam?

If I remember correctly, NBA 2k9 PC version did get patched.

Yes, it's called bottlenecking and that memory will definitely do that. Also, it's always smart to use all memory of one kind. Like, using G.Skill DDR2 800 and OCZ DDR2 800 is not a smart idea. Use one brand, if possible, since memory units use different voltages.

May I ask what memory brand you're using.

hmmm, i remember that vaguely too but i dont remember when... but since it is supposed to be as good as the console versions, how will we get roster updates? do we wait through steam again?

whatever minutes u use is what the sim mins will be. so if its 5min quarters then kobe will only avg around 15 pnts. so if u want real stats do 12mins. also u have to use the work around for changing mins in my player mode found here until 2k patches this issue http://forums.nba-live.com/viewtopic.php?f=118&t=69347 hope it helps ya

Hmmm...I guess I hold off purchasing until there's a definitive answer on this. I wasn't going to buy this year's NBA2K10 but I'll definitely buy if this turns out to be a good PC port.

The difference would be negligible, really. It may help in synthetic benchmark tests, but real world usage not really.

What are your other specs? Some CPUs actually run better with slower clock speed RAM. Depending on the FSB speed of your CPU.

EDIT: I just saw what CPU you had. You would be better off getting DDR3 RAM if your mobo supports it.

And um. this with DDR2 and your ATI card should be plenty to run it anyhow.

I'm gonna be upgrading my cpu to a Phenom II x3 720 and attempt to oc it to at least 3.3ghz

the mobo i got only supports ddr2

i think i'll hold off on any ram upgrades to see how it runs.. i think i'll be okay for the next little while anyway

yes it did get patched. and this years version is just as good as the consoles. possibly better depending on your interests and cpu capabilities (mods, cpu specs, etc) take it from a man that has played 1200 plus games at 12 min quarters on 2k9 and still going lol
