      Re: NBA 2K10 PC thread

For those of you with not much of a powerful video card on your laptop, below are the settings I use and everything is very fast/smooth and perfect! No jaggies and no stuttering. Also, I play with cloth physics disabled since when enabled the gameplay was very slow.

First make sure the game is not running, now go to the start menu then to "my computer". On the menu choose tools then go to folder options. Click the "view" tab now make sure there is a check next to "show hidden files and folders", Click okay. Now all you need to do is go to drive C, choose documents and settings, go to your profile(choose the name 2k10 is installed under), next to go to the folder called Application Data, now you should see 2K Sports-nba 2k10 folder. In the saves folder open the Config file. Change your settings here. To save time, just delete everything in your config file, then copy/paste my settings. When you are done make sure you save your changes then click exit.

HP is a computer company. Your graphics card is something else.

I forgot to add, if you use the settings I have in my config file, you will notice that within the video options in the game you can now change many of the settings to either low, med, or high!

Thanks, I'll try it. By the way, can you tell me what your specs are? And can you tell me how many FPS you get?

              EDIT:
Umm...resolution is 1024X600? is it looking good?

If you have at least a 350watt PSU I'd go with the ATI HD4670. That's what I have on my rig.

No. Don't go for "low end" numbered series.

                  GeForce 8800GT > 9400GT.
                  GeForce 7800GT > 7300GT.

That second number, DARK BOLD, should be 6 or higher. Anything less will NOT PLAY well. The GeForce 9400 is NOT for gaming, it's for watching movies in high clarity.

You can find an ati 4850 or geforce 9800gt for under $100 on newegg, probably a much better buy.

Can one of the guys who are running quads see if the Drive Cam or 2k are stuttery? I'd like to try this game, especially for $20.00. But I'm not really wanting to deal with the framerate stuff.....

Yea, listen to this guy above. Get a graphics card from Newegg and you'll get much more bang for your buck. A 9400GT isn't gonna run NBA 2K10 well anyway. Like the guy above said, a GeForce 9800 or Radeon 4850 would be great for you - cheap and pretty powerful.

Yeah, but both require a power dongle. HP doesn't have a lot of those to spare. I have a 9357c quad core. Problem is that it doesn't have any spare dongles and only comes with a 350watt PSU. Kinda sucks, but I was able to get around it with my Sapphire HD4670. It runs everything I've tried so far with max res and no hitches....

P.S. He might want to try Tiger Direct, too....

What model HP do you have? You can look the specs up on the HP website. You can also run your Hardware Diagnostics if you have Vista and it'll tell you everything about your system.
