Yeah, it can't be said enough. Team mate defensive AI is braindead.

2K is also going to have to tweak the ability of guards getting around big men because I played as the Lebrons against the Rockets and as Lebron I couldn't even get around Scola when he was guarding me. I know Scola has pretty good footwork, but Lebron is one of the better penetrators in the league he should be able to get around him pretty easily. Some of this may have to do with my somewhat limited knowledge of Isomotion (ugh), but I think I know enough to be able to get around defenders when they're clearly outmatched.

I am absolutely LOVING this basketball season. IMHO 2k10 is in a much better place to start off with than 2k9. If you can deal with the quirkiness you will see that 2k is now famous for controls wise there's some great hoops action to be had IMHO.

I haven't been playing for as long as most here though so I would trust their tweaks and things more than mine at this point. Guys like 24th and Pared have a really good hold on 2k10 so if you describe what your trying to fix. I am certain the true slider gurus here will be able to help you.

Just remember that we don't have any perfect games so fix what you can ignore the rest outside of patch requests and wishlists and you will have a blast this year.

I get HYPED watching the pregame in this game is amazing and the realtime intro's really keep it interesting.

Quick question: are there alternate control settings in this game?

Reason I ask is that I can't do anything Isomotion-related with the current setup on the demo.

I LOVED the controls in College Hoops 2k8 where you had everything mapped to the Y and B buttons. Made things so much easier. If there's something like that in this game, I'd be a happy camper.

The game is getting close...I vowed not to touch sliders as I am kind of sick of them, but it's not as big a job as NBA 2K9.

I love that the CPU actually passes the ball out / drives and kicks this season.

I can see this game being very good post patch.

The real NBA season hasn't even started, so get in there and practice fellas...no point starting a season now anyway.

Well, they've made this game worse. There's no argument with that is there?

When you press sprint you go slower. When you have the ball it's like you're stuck in mud. You can try and just do a simple turn and you end up taking 3 steps in a stupid animation. NBA 2k8/9 felt smoother. The AI was broke but it was a smoother game to play. This is not smooth. And I'm irritated by this. I like some things that are mentioned here...drive and kick etc by the comp etc...and they can patch stuff in but isn't the basic game kinda broke?

I'm not even going to adjust the sliders until post patch, because any settings you make will probably be rendered obsolete by the patch changes.

I'm just going to play some games, figure out what team I'm want to use for my Association and wait for the patch.

I haven't seen the player I'm controlling go slower when sprinting, and it really depends on who your sprinting with. Also you do know that the more you do it the more his energy is depleted.

There are times when I get stuck in an animation for a few seconds.

Sadly the player movement is the worst I've seen in a bball game ever. But, it can somewhat be fixed. Turn player speed up to 55.

waiting for the patch... a yearly tradition.

i am now a firm believer that my teammates dont care what coach settings I have for player matchups. I have been torched by JR smith 3-4 games now. I set it up so theres "tight" coverage but that doesnt matter. I put NEVER to double on everyone in the game, and that doesnt matter. These guys just fundamentally love to help. Dare I say, this game is fundamentally broken? Why would the mavs help out on a post move by antonio mcdice, leaving duncan wide open on the other side of the paint? Why sag off of three point shooters when I have the coach settings in place.. I even went as far as going into coach profiles and lowering help defense.. Lets play some man defense for once.. The biggest culprit is when the cpu is walking up the court. if you take a second and get off of the ball handler, youll have 1-2 teammates leaving their assignment to "pickup the ball. This game has regressed so much in the AI department.

CPU defensive AI cant keep up with what the offense is programmed to do.

with all that said though, ive found solice in the fact that I have to stop caring about alot of realistic aspects, and just sit down and enjoy what the game has to offer. It offers enough to not make this one another waste of $60 dollars, so im lucky. for real basketball im looking elsewhere. here its a great sit down and just play and not care about anything type of game. the average consumers perspective.

It's just that the sprint button seems broke to me. If I'm on a fast break with chris Paul and press turbo it feels like everyone else speeds up and all that happens to my player is that their animation changes. Off the ball it seems fine but it's when in posession that it is so annoying. Sorry to repeat myself. Have been a masive fan 2k for many years and am just disappointed this time round. Fingers crossed the patch is good!
