Re: Official NBA 2k10 Impressions Thread
Association is amazing. Straight forward genius. But I dont know about you guys, but there are some things I feel could be fixed.
1. NBA Today
I think thats what its called, at the bottom of the screen where you can flip through games for the next few days. This has no real purpose besides showing what games are to be played. What if it opened into a video, showing brief highlights and big games on slate for tomorrow. Short and sweet, but I'm into seeing big players doin work, not just words.
2. "Articles"
I havent really looked into it this year, but in last years game where it there would be a NBA.com article title that says, "Pierce clutch as Celtics win at buzzer." What if instead of opening up into a box score, there was an actual article, similar to older College Hoops game which even somewhat had video highlights.
3. In-Game Ads
A little too much overdone. I like the occasional "On Thanksgiving, the Celts and Cavs tip off in a excellent matchup," but almost every time there is a stoppage in play something comes up. Seems overdone and takes away from the excitement and hype of these games when they show 6 different future matchups. I dont mind them talking about future matchups during the game, as that would be real, but they seem to only talk about past games, and in about 2 sentences.
4. Presentation
EA College Hoops has brught forth dual presentation with ESPN [PHP]and CBS. Why cant 2k get something where important games are played on TNT, but other maybe other less important season games appear on Fox Sports. Let all playoff games and then the Thursday night and national Sunday games be TNT and the rest less important.
5. Crowd
The crowd seems stupid at times. They will applaud at some moments of importance but not at others. I feel they should always be attentive, but also get into the games more at key points, and key games, such as matchups against upper level teams, playoffs, game 7, and nba finals. This would add to intensity on the floor.

I am sure I will begin to like the game, the CPU AI is so much smarter in terms of positioning and taking real NBA type shots. But I anxiously awaited this game and feel a lot less enthused than others, which surprises me because I am usually one of the more content gamers around here.....at least I was with 2k9.
