I don't know if I can take much more of this game.

While many of the gameplay issues can be fixed with sliders, player control is horrible in this game. ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE! I feel like my guys are playing on ice, and it's making the game nearly unplayable for me.

Too many canned animations, and nearly zero user control. It's so frustrating.

I enjoy the way NBA Today affects Association mode, Like team schedules popping up mid game. And I even think seasons have an affect also, The Knicks team win and losses came up and who they've beaten and who's next and around that was like an outline, with a viney tree thing and a Jack O Lantern...In October.

This game does have plenty of bugs, glitches and random events. But I kind of like it that way. It almost adds to the excitement of playing the game.

Now I have to start to build my roster and start making some mods....which will take a month or so.

Trust me J.R when I tell you that the game freezing on me during my season...three times so far, doesn't add to the excitement

One game was deep in the 4th...I was just thinking "this is a classic game", my wife had just brought me over a scotch on the rocks...perfect...

And the game completely locked up.

After playing this game for a fair bit i've decided that this game is flat out broken. Don't believe me?

Run down the court with any team, call quick pick and roll, run your pg off the screen then pass to the cutting screener as he rolls to the hoop. It's an automatic 2 points nearly every time. i just tried it out Kings (me) vs Pistons. After one qrt Jason Thomson has 20 points and Tyreke Evans has 10 assists.

Do they even test these bloody games?

Now people will say: just don't call pick and rolls = problem fixed but c'mon the pick and roll is an integral part of basketball on nearly any level. Something this simple really shouldn't get through and i'm very dissappointed in the 2k team. Hope they patch it but it's not going to be easy because the core gameplay seems pretty broken.

Game is really fun to play, but I think they need to give us more control over the shooting animations. A great deal of the player shooting animations have been sped up to the point where I barely even press the button that long and they're already releasing the shot. I think they should take a flyer from Live next year and give us full control of the jumpers and use true LS momentum control for leaners/fades instead of the RS.

On a separate note, I noticed the Lakers' home court paint color is way too dark. I remember this was a complaint many Lakers fans had back in 2K8 and it was addressed for 2K9. Why did the art designers change the already FIXED paint color from last year and revert back to the wrong color this year? That really doesn't make much sense to me. Once again I question the talent and attention to detail of 2K's art director.

It just seems to me that whomever the art director is doesn't really have that true "artistic fetish" for the NBA. I look at the Live art director, and you can tell this man has a true, almost psychotic, fetish for getting all the true graphical intricacies into their game (500+ shoes and counting, tons of alternate AND ACCURATE jerseys and counting, fully accurate player accessories, etc.). That passion for truly replicating the art direction of the NBA really doesn't seem to be there for whomever is in charge of the department. It kind of disappoints me considering how great this game actually plays.

Jonesy...I had the same experience and posted a while back a thread about it.

However, I got some sliders off 2K share that fixed it...D strength is 100 + A few other things I forget.t does fix it now though.

The game plays really nice after sliders IMO...really nice.

I am getting game freezes now though...complete lock ups...so I think I'll wait until they patch it before playing too much.

CV, are those sliders in 360form too on 2kshare i wonder. care to share some of the numbers? maybe they are one of OS's.. im intrigued by what the sliders seem to fix.

PS3 Wally...I'll have a look later. I am not going to type them all up, but i'll put up the numbers re D.

I am pretty sure D stength + all the D ratings are maxed out.

When I P n R, the cpu traps me succesfully + follows the big in to the post a lot more often succesfully. You can still abuse it, but it's like 3/10 times now...which is fair enough...before it was as Jonesy said, pretty much 10/10 times. A $$ play.

I'll check later...I am going to give my season one more try tonigth by playing a full game. If it locks up (see the bugs thread) on me again then I am done with this game until the patch.

Hopefully it won't feeze again. Kind of annoyed that I am even having to sit here saying "I hope my game doesn't freeze"...

Re my own posts above...the game is playing well now CPU v CPU, no freezes. Seems the freezing is happening on my IN game save file (i.e. where I played a half and resumed. ) If I play a full game, no freezing

I also have noted that in the mid game saves...I can't use the replay option. It doesn't work.

Who knows how these bugs work

Back to impressions...got to say yet again I freaking LOVE the presentation. The commentors referenced specifically the game I played the other night and who did well + where the two current teams are in the division. Very cool.

I love how bigs are so different in this game...playing against a guy like Blake Griffin at PF is completely different to Anderson Vajero...Greg Oden completely different to Shaq.

It's the one thing that really draws me to this game and not the 'other' one (where bigs are incredibly generic in all aspects)

@Court_vision So setting help D to 100 both user and CPU and strenght to 60 will make the pick & roll succes go down? Can you tell me how high defensive and offensive awareness are in this slider set?

Maybe highering playing passing lanes will also help some..

the game is great. however the controls are driving me insane. ex I tried all night to do kobe's signature layup still can't do it. anyone know how to do it?

I busted that layup on someone online when I was up by 15 or 16 at the end of the 3rd and he quit, but I don't know how I did it.
