Well right now I'm not worrying myself sick over issues that apparently most of you have read will be addressed via patch. I don't understand why on earth must we all expect the game or any game for that matter to be released to our "Personal" taste and game styles. This game really plays very good and I'm more than confident that it will get better in the near future according to the the fixes 2K plan on focusing on in patches to come.

I'm really enjoying the game. And finally got around to getting into "My Player Mode" and it seems interesting since I created a player and got drafted by the Cav's Now comes working out. I know we all want our own personal versions of that pretty girl at the prom but I'm glade to be there with the girl I like the most... Ms. 2K10

There are still a number of things about this game that are ticking me off but I was playing MyPlayer mode yesterday (9 minute quarters), and I was part of the unit that turned a 7 point deficit to a 2 point lead in the fourth...

I ended up getting subbed out for the last 30 seconds and watched as Michael Redd pulled up and drained a jumper over Rip Hamilton to tie the game 102-102... After a timeout Charlie Villanueva received the ball after some passing around the perimeter and nailed a 3 at the buzzer to give us the win...

It was something to behold and would have never happened like that in 2k9. It was dare I say lifelike...

I'm hoping 2K is really focusing on the AI issues for this patch. User teammates are so oblivious sometimes you really have to hold their hands on defense. There also seem to be some issues in which sometimes the CPU will temporarily take control of your player and take you out of the play (and no, this is not a CPU defensive assist issue, I have that turned down to zero).

It is as if the CPU decides that it wants a score and removes you from your pretty good defensive positioning to get an open shot or drive to the basket. Anyone else seeing this occasionally? It doesn't happen ALL the time, but I've noticed it the few times I've played. Gosh this game has so much dang potential I'm really interested to know the fixes 2k is going to address with this next patch.

Game is really fun to play, but I think they need to give us more control over the shooting animations. A great deal of the player shooting animations have been sped up to the point where I barely even press the button that long and they're already releasing the shot. I think they should take a flyer from Live next year and give us full control of the jumpers and use true LS momentum control for leaners/fades instead of the RS.

I rented this yesterday for the PS3 to try it out...

Haven't messed with live yet, so I don't know anything about their setup, but I agree with your overall premise. Some of the jumpers almost seem glitchy they're so fast.

-Also, while I like the defensive lock better this year (not as easy to shut a guy down with) I feel like there is a kind of "stuck in the mud" transition when you let off the button and momentarily lose control. It makes sense to me when attempting steals and such (simulates momentum I suppose), but just from sliding around in step with your man seems a bit goofed IMO.

-There still seems to be a heavy AI reliance on outside shots. I haven't gotten too deep, so I'm sure adjusting tendencies will help as it did last year, but man, Lebron shooting so many 3's in a game is crazy (there's also the little fact that he almost NEVER misses...lol).

-Defensive AI is abysmal at times IMO. Guys don't get off picks well, don't pick up on help defense, etc. It feels like a 1 on 5 matchup sometimes when your teammates go brain-dead.

Bear in mind all that is from initial impression with limited time to adjust ratings, find good sliders, etc. There are plenty of things I like...

-A lot of little touches on gameplay. For as inept as your teammates feel at times on defense, I'm actually pleased with how they operate on offense. Even when you aren't setting up specific plays, they stay on the move and look to get open rather than just standing in the default end positions of the previous playcall.

-Commentary is much more fluid and dynamic thus far. Presentation as a whole looks nice. It seems there is less disconnect between the primary and secondary characters; it's all more integrated now (For example, I saw my guy trip over the floor guy and his mop after coming down from a dunk...nice touch I don't recall from prior years).

-Ratings separation and slider effectiveness seems improved. Tendencies in particular seem to work well. And with some good adjustments, should make for a damn fine representation of individual players. I also love the variety of tendencies and how specific the adjustments are.

-Create-a-Team is finally a good feature. No more generic templates; there's actually some depth now.

Initially, it's still a great game overall. Ordinarily, I probably wouldn't consider a purchase since I still own 09 on PC. BUT, I'll get it again for PC, as it's certainly at least a decent upgrade, the price is reasonable, and I want to support the platform for sports games.

I really want to start with My Player but was thinking of waiting until the patch is released so the issues are fixed. Now I'm rethinking that strategy as I really want to try it.

Are there any other issues bar the duplicate one that affect the experience?

The controls are taking some time to get down with the PC but I am finally seeing the improvements. With proper roster editing this game is going to be amazing. This is the best, most challenging CPU AI and play I have ever seen in a sports video game.

In 2k9 I tweaked the players until they started to play like they should in real life. But the problem was where they caught the ball on the court and the moves they used. In 2k10 they solved a lot of this. And they added plays, especially plays I wanted(pick n pops).

Besides messing up the stupid silhouettes 2k pretty much nailed this game. Right now I don't know of anything that I think is missing.

Well done 2k. Well done. Time to start the modding!

I am right where you are J.R...I hated NBA 2K9 and just couldn't get the AI close to right. NBA 2K10 is a massive leap forward and plays a hell of a good game. For me, I am all about me v The CPU...I rarely play online...so I am really happy with the much better CPU AI also

Apparently there is a bug that will not allow you to play your second season. Calendar for year two shows nothing, thus preventing you from playing any games.

Oh man which nerd said that scoring in the zone is too difficult? Read that on the official list that was handed to the developers.. Thats just bull****... I play MyPlayer-Mode which btw is much too easy with the wolves.

Big Al and Love are getting like every basket cause theres no defense! NONE at all! On the other side, the opponent's team big men score the same cause my team can't play D also.

It's just much too easy to score in the zone and everytime somebody takes a jumpshot on my teammates, they dont even get up or really try to defend how they should be able to.

Oh and Im a SG with 65% FG% on HOF ... The patch can't come soon enough...

wow....all my players on the court turned invisible....wtf!? the glitches in this game are outrageous man...I literally cant think of a glitchier game than this....hope the patch can fix this...might have to chill until then...

First off zones work vs Low I.Q. basketball users. Some kid who think he is going to cheese his way to the paint.

And secondly what nba teams plays zones?........NONE....Maybe a few play for a possession or two. But they just don't consistently work period. You leave yourself open to offensive rebounds. And during fast breaks if your big men don't get back. Your in even more trouble.

They are only going to work on the players spacing for the patch. Besides that...The zone works like it suppose to. Vs cheesy opponents that don't dont know any better. Yes....But vs a skilled users or knowledgeable basketball user. They will eat you alive.

You didnt really get what i said.. With Zone i meant the paint. And yeah bla bla I know that i can rule in the paint.

But I play MyPlayer-Mode and if you would have read my post accurately there i said that its too easy to score against HOF CPU. But they also do score too easy against my CPU teammates. Period.

Slider correction may be the solution for some, but it doesn't gimme that feeling I need.. Ah never mind

I think I may have read here that deleting your user profile will cure the invisible player glitch. I believe OS member DaCzar started the topic on this, if that helps searching for it.

I'm kind of using the same approach. I think this game has IMMENSE potential, but there are so many bugs/glitches/poor AI choices that if I continually play it each day I'm going to continue to get bothered by the issues I to see and eventually lose interest. I'm just going to continue playing this game sparingly with slider tweaks until I find out what the patch is going to fix. If the patch fixes most of the issues, I'm going to play the crap out of this game all NBA season.
