"Default: Kind of a hyper-realism. Shooting %’s will be slightly higher than real life, there will be fewer fouls, slightly more dunks, more and 1’s, etc. “Let ‘em play hoops” so to speak.
Casual: This is the setting you want if you like up and down play with lots of dunks and highlight moments. There won’t be a whole lot of stoppages and you’ll see higher scoring across the board. Arcade-style play is probably the best way to describe it.
Simulation: Real life stats. This is my game style of choice. With 12-min. quarters, you will easily see NBA averages across your stat lines. Don’t expect anything easy in the paint, you’ll have to work a lot harder and execute good basketball strategy to be successful in Sim."
Reading this i would put the order:

I think I stated it wrong I guess. Default means nothing in of itself. Default could be all casual or all sim. But, from what Mike said, default is set to 30% sim, 70% casual. It's slightly more sim than all casual. In other words, mostly casual. Or maybe we all have a different opinion of what arcade and casual mean...

casual is ultra casual and meant for casuals, default is more toward sim but still leans toward casual in OS's eyes although more sim than last year's default, sim is sim and designed for sim ballers who thought 2K10 was too casual for a sim. all of the GC videos you're watching are not set to casual, they're defaulted to default, which as I stated, is still pretty casual by OS standards but still plays pretty sim compared to previous titles.

Wow thanks. I always wondered what gamestyle y'all considered 2k10 to be. Very difficult question to answer there Jesus. There are some on OS who won't like ANYTHING... LOL. I believe Mike said there are going to be some SIM vids released at some point and I am certain those will tell you all you need to know.
Personally I have not enjoyed an NBA game this much since 2k7/ 2k8 days when I just couldn't put it down. Those games had issues but those issues in no way kept me from having a great time.
