Re: Your Myplayer Career (NBA 2K11)

2014 retiree/hall of fame inductee is allen iverson...

    off-season suggestions:
    -demarcus cousins
    -dirk nowitzki
    -luke babbitt
    -francisco garcia
    -hedo turkoglu

tim duncan is still on my team(after that title win duncan now has 5 rings...too bad kobe it looks like he wants his 6th before retiring)

the main players on my team are still here: kevin love, demarcus cousins(im guessing they re-signed him), omri casspi, caron butler, and christian joseph...we did lose samuel dalembert though(hopefully, trades in my 5th season dont ruin my roster)

caron butler is now a bench player with a cpu generated player(andre padgett starting at SF) and demarcus cousins got all of his playing minutes back and is now at 35 minutes while tim duncan is at 9 minutes

    my player progression:
    shot inside -1(94)
    shot close +1(96)
    shot medium -1(94)
    shot 3pt +1(97)
    free throw +1(96)
    standing dunk +1(51)
    shoot in traffic +1(86)
    ball handle -1(96)
    block -1(60)
    steal +1 (96)
defensive rebound +1(68 without shoes, 70 with shoes)
    stamina -1(98)

    summary of career accomplishments:
    -mvp 4x
    -nba champion 4x
    -finals mvp 4x
-all-star 3x(still bitter that i made the all-nba team my rookie year but didnt get an all-star selection)
    -1st team all-nba 4x
    -league leader in points 3x
    -league leader in rebounds 3x
    -league leader in assists 4x
    -league leader in steals 3x
    -defensive player 3x
    -1st team all-defense 3x
-most improved player(intentionally tried to make my average similar to last seasons so i lost the race)
    -rookie of the year
    -1st team all-rookie

    upcoming milestones:
    -10000 career points
    -5000 career assists
    -5 nba championships

that statline is just too unrealistic dude, you must handle the ball 100% of the time, i really dont understand how cheesing is fun even against cpu

To each their own. It's a video game. Some like realistic numbers some want to completely DOMINATE the nba. that's the joy of My player.

Why did you simulate your playoffs? Are you just bored of it or you wanted to see how it would unfold?

Saw the screenshot you were talking about, it's cool that 2K knows sportsmanship.

im a PG of course i handle the ball...but i play to enjoy the game...only realism i go for is to make sure my teammates get close to or above their career average and that usually means i give them the ball...tyreke evans was second in scoring after my player with 28.2ppg(way above his career average)...kevin love was second in rebounds after my player with 12.3 rpg...i can easily win a game by scoring less than 20 ppg if i put my complete effort on the boards, in assists, and steals...it's just a personal choice to choose to be league leader in those stats...

season 4 was the first time i played 12 minute quarters...every other season before that was with 9 minute quarters which meant that my style of gameplay actually came at the cost of the statlines of my other teammates(most apparent with the big three in miami when they all only averaged around 16ppg while bosh and lebron barely got any rebounds since i was eating up the boards due to such confined time limit)...so if anything, the push to move it to 12 minute quarters this season should have been a win in the eyes of you simulation players out there since my teammates are doing what they're supposed to in terms of statistical output

i just dont understand why people have to knit pick at everything...it is a video game...simple as that...if anything, restricting my player to a situation in which i have to follow some unwritten rule regarding realistic statlines wouldnt hold my interest for as long as it has been

potential 7 games series in the playoffs are way too long on top of a lengthy 82 game season...additionally, there are no milestones for the playoffs meaning there isnt really any incentives for me to play...like i said before, i could go for the nba playoff records but those are frivolous when im trying to get that 5th nba championship milestone...

dude those numbers are crazy. average a triple double it's crazy. you need to move the level from all star to superstar or hall of fame to give yourself more of a challenge.

I tried AI Free Throw for 25 games, but it is too fast for me. I either am just early or just late. I will switch back to Quick Free throw

Anyone else have trouble getting their player to move how they want on def? I've tried everything I could possibly do (hold L2 off ball, sprint when defending back door, playing passing lane) and yet I still end up out of position because my player decides he's going to run in a circle or something.

it takes getting use to, that and you have to have a sense of where your defender is going to go and being 1 step ahead of him say if you see a screen coming you should go under it if you end up too far from him at that point your team mate should switch from his man to yours if you try to run through the screen no help defense will come and the facilitator will dish to him for an open J.

you also have to cover the space between your guy and the cup at all times because they will cut and easy layup so thats pretty much the key to off ball defending just cover the space between your guy and the basket and go avoid getting hit by screens.

Hi, I'm new here. I absolutely love the My Player in NBA 2k11. You can really make a difference in your team's play unlike in other sports game player modes. I have played with a 7 foot 5 inch and 275 pound guy on a hall of fame difficulty and 12 min. In 55 games my averages so far are 39 points, 20 rebounds and of those 11.9 offensive rebounds, 3.4 assists, 0.6 steals, 11.9 blocks, 0.618% FG, 77% FT and 2.6 TO. My OVR right now is 81.

Just had a monster game in a key match up against the Lakers. Went for:

56 points, 9 rebounds, 10 assists. Also went 12-19 from 3pt land, tying Kobe's record.

Set the Blazers all time team record for points scored in a game and 3 pointers made.

Was gutted that I missed out on a triple double, but I was thinking to myself "Lebron actually did this in real life, how sick is that????"

                              Man, CPU just cheated me!!

I got asked to play in the Rookie Challenge - so I loaded up the game and my XBOX froze...so I restarted My Player....

When I loaded it back up the schedule had gone PAST the Rookie game and they had given me 1600 skill points and 1 new drill when I didnt even play in the game!!!

I had 0 points and 0 drills before it.

Hey i'm new to NBA 2k11 and have been trying to play my player for a couple days. I was pretty good at Live last year and switched over. I'm on my fifth player because i keep restarting. Right now i'm an athletic SG and keep having the same problems.

                                - The computer always take random fade away threes but when i drive and get to the rim I get a bad shot selection.

                                - It always seems to switch who i'm covering out of nowhere and then the guy scores and I lose points.

I'm playing on Pro and am still getting dominated and average a C. So can you give me advice on what to do and can help me with my attributes for making a driving SG or SF and can you help me with my driving, it's kind of hard getting past my defender?
