Re: Your Myplayer Career (NBA 2K11)

All-around SF 6'8"- drafted 20th by the Spurs at 44 overall.

Beat out Jefferson for the Starting position in about 8-10 games. 72 games into the season:

    24.1 PPG - 15.1 RPG (5.9 offensive) - 5.1 assists - 1.4 steals - 1.8 blocks - 1.8 turnovers - 61.5% field goal - 83% ft% - don't shoot 3s yet - ave offensive rating A+, defensive: A/A-

I'm the favorite for MVP (just took over Lebron), ROY, Defensive player of the year (just took over Duncan).

I think I'm doing well considering the awards races; multiple players of the month and 60% of the time I'm player of the week, always rookie of the month.

Tips: Concentrate on these rate increases first: medium shot, layup, block, steal, on-the-ball defense, vertical, quickness, consistency, stamina. Do not turn the ball over, I hold the ball for a good 2 seconds before passing after a defensive rebound. 40% the time when I get the offensive rebound I pass out for an assist, or I just don't want to be blocked/get stripped. When you pass to a low or high block crash the hoop, you either get open for an easy passback/layup or you have a good chance of getting the offensive rebound. Get out quick of nothing happens. Learn the offensive plays, getting to the spot slightly before the defense gives a lot of steal opportunities and most importantly, you man does not get the ball to score. If there is no reason to crash the boards and you can get a head start on a fast break...sprint! Get back on D too rather than crashing to boards on a long-shot o-rebound.

Cons: "allow man to score" I play top not defense and often the blue circle will be under my SF matchup (that i'm 18 inches from) and another player across the court, so frustrating. Horrible logic programmed there. My teamate will get schooled and if I play help D, my match up gets a wide open look. Damned if you do, damned if you don't. Frustrating.
"hold ball too long" Tony parker and manu throw up prayers all game long, both are shooting sub 40%. Often the bigs will toss me the pass after a defensive rebound, the guards run AWOL to the other side. If I try to pass to them, turnover, if I dribble it "hold ball too long" if I pass to a big, "bad pass." Often I'll block a shot and the my teammate catches the ball and he will get credited with a steal and I won't get the block statistic. Annoying.

i like paul pierce's jumpshot...just played 2 games with it and the release is fairly easy to get used to if you've used either michael jordan's or waves in the past...

current record 40-4(11 games away from all-star break)

i havent really been playing much :|

Argh, I haven't playing much either. About 15 games left in my first season. Going to attempt to make the playoffs by the end of the weekend.

Me either. I am the conference Finals against Heat. I didnt it start it in a few days and before the playoffs I was barely playing it. Between responsiblities, other games, losing interest, flaws of my player(no sliders, teammates, time to get player to a decent level) I havent been playing.

Has anyone been drafted by the Bulls? 17th pick?

If you have, do you stay with them? I'm pretty sure you do, but last year the Bulls actually traded Seraphin so not sure if they will still keep you.

Off to an 0-3 start with the OKC Thunder (All-Star/Default), playing as a backup PG. I'm averaging about 12 min. per game, 3.5 pts, 3.0 rebs and 3.5 assists.

The post-game press conferences is a nice touch. As you improve, do you get asked more than 1 question?

Any tips on how to build up my stats? I'm a 45 overall right now. I'm terrible at the Drills, outside of the Shooting and Contest Shot ones.

29-10 as of last night. Leading the Western Conference by 3 games. Leading ROY Candidate and Defensive POY honors (at least that's what I think the award is). 5th in MVP voting. It's been a great first half.

i think that was the exact pick i was drafted as....i just know i landed on the bulls within the first round....

i decided to not stay with them simply because it took away from derrick rose's statsheet if i was PG and he was a starting SG....ever since i moved to a different team...derrick rose has been in the top 3-5 within scoring

it's always 1 question asked during the press conference...after a few seasons of doing this it will become repetitive and trivial

being that you're a PG...you should really get your ISO-motion moves down and start practicing them in shootaround until you're comfortable enough to do the dribble course....it's an easy way to get the speed attribute...and if you decide to sell back the speed attribute for more skill points it will significantly benefit your player..

you're correct, it is the defensive player of the year award

Now when Jennigns brings the ball up, either Bogut or Randolph or old *** Corey Maggette get the ball first. I'm a complete afterthought. This is gonna be a rough season.

But one thing, has anyone noticed that their team moved better in the 2nd season? It seems like less stagnant play and more player movement....
it's probably more based on your overall attribute progression...no sure way to prove it but i really do think teammate AI is somehow linked to your player's overall attributes...sort of similar to the concept of how if you earn enough trust and become floor general then your teammate will be more likely to pass you the ball without repeated attempts of calling for bad passes....but again...just a notion...

Re: Your Myplayer Career (NBA 2K11)

In Game 4, I played 2 minutes before coming down with a severely sprained ankle. The injury put me out for 10 games. OKC didn't miss me too much, as they went 6-4 in my absence. I returned against the Mavericks and we lost ... again. Now 0-5 (although that 4th loss was when I was injured) in games I've stepped onto the floor.

Enigma, thanks for the tips. I'm terrible at Isomotion, so that could be some work for me.

BTW, what settings do you all use for MyPlayer? I feel like All-Star/Default works well as my teammates will at least make a realistic # of shots, and I can still shoot a decent percentage despite my overall ratings being low.

That's a bummer that you don't get multiple questions after a game as time goes on. Again, I really like that feature, though.

                          It felt good.

Welcome to my world. For some reason, when I'm on the floor, my team is awful and I can't win a game to save my life, unless I go crazy trying to score 60+ points. But then again, my career high in this mode was 52points and I still lost!!

damn thats harsh. on my MP PG i had to start cheesing and take off down the court when they take a jumper to get a fast break layup/dunk when my team started to lose a 20 pt lead in the 4th quarter x.x

has anyone else had their stats not show up in the league leaders column? im' 20 games into my 1st season as C.

i'm avg a triple double, 19 pts, 18 boards and 10 blocks but when i go to league leaders it doesnt list me despite being the top rebounder and blocker.

i show up under rookie report but not the league wide stats. i was hoping to make a big enough league impact to get voted as a backup to the allstar game but since i'm not recognized under league stats i'm not even considered right now
