Re: Your Myplayer Career (NBA 2K11)

I want to say something to those upset about the penalties in the team grade. Not all penalties (or rewards) are created equally. What I mean by that is if if I'm the first person up on a break and the guy dunks it, the "allow man to score" penalty is usually a sliver versus when I'm taken off the dribble and dunked on. People complain about this, but who cares? Just get it back! Similarly, my "good shot selection" reward nets me more green the more open I am and the better release I have. I know people love to complain, but no one complains when you get a nice chunk of green for a boxout (even if the other team gets the board), or for a simple screen. I like that they try to make it challenging and reward good basketball. Some penalties are harsh, but you can still get an A+ if you play smart.

    /rant.

I love this mode by the way.

Through 12 or so games i am still coming off the bench, but unlike the first few gams of the season, i am playing the end of the 4th quarter
My coach usually puts me at PG, SG, or SF throughout the game
      Avg 20.9 mins a game my stats are 12.3PPG 4.9RPG 4.0APP

I will say this, the only one that I have an issue with is the "allow your man to score" ONLY when it does this when its not my man or if it changes my man to the guy shooting as he shoots while I am out on the perimiter covering someone else.

Still a minor annoyance, I am typically at a A+ durring the second quarter anyway but those two make me shake my head. I love the mode even more this year, now if we can get them enough data on the coaches being fired every other game for us who are having that issue and get that fixed I will be a totally happy camper.

I was wondering this myself. Actually I wanted to see if there was a screen that displayed my popularity too, but I'm much more interested in the contract, especially in free agency.

Man, my Grizzlies are going through quite the rollercoaster...went from being 5-2 or so to 9-12, last in the conference. We keep losing close games in the last 30 seconds or so. Our chemistry is all the way down to 31%. Last game we played Denver and we were down 80-83, 5 seconds left and I get the ball, wide open, take the shot and it kind of bowls around and drops out...

Anyone else playing with a center and gotten to the point where it's ridiculously easy?

I'm a 7'2" all-around center, 68 overall, and even on HOF level I've gotten to where I can score and rebound at will. The games are close but putting up monster numbers is a breeze. I'm not burned out on it yet, but may be starting a new one soon with a SG or SF.

My averages the last 6 games...

                49.7 ppg, 24.8 rpg, 3.5 bpg, .613 FG%, 1.000 FT% 66/66

FT's are automatic now. Got my FT rating up to 80 and have made a total of 100 in a row.

Love what you're doing with your write ups, man. I wanted to make an arrogant showoff dunk artist who has to learn the error of his ways, but I just couldn't do it when the Thunder picked up my athletic SG, the reincarnated Lance Law(recovered from the fall of the Clone Program in 2k10.) Started on All Star/Sim, quickly pushed Thabo out of the rotation and five games in, Lance has used his athleticism and size to provide a spark on both ends of the floor. Being a versatile, legitimate 3 position player gives Coach Brooks a lot of flexibility in the lineups.

Minutes have increased every game. Moved up to 20mpg.

                  Key Stats:

                  MidRg Sht: 88 (shoe enhanced)
                  Layup: 80
                  Vert: 83
                  Ball Handle: 75

Lance has bought into Coach Brooks' system and isn't looking to take over. He knows this is Kevin and Russell's team and wants to help this team win a ring. We'll see how long the 19 year old can show such maturity playing behind James Harden while the media searches for a chink in the armor.

Im not gonna lie, I made the worst desicion playing Injured, I scored 19 points and 5 assists but my it feels so bad, your player actually starts to clutch the injured area if you dunk or something. It definately hurts you on the break when my player started bending over holding his stoumach (but had back spasms?)

Donno if it's because I haven't played in 2 days or because it is sim...but I cannot drive anymore, or hit a shot. It's more realistic though, but it can definitely be frustrating. Finally won against the Suns but ended up being injured, only missed a day though. Although I have struggled to score, I have 2 double doubles for my 6'4'' SG as I have been trying to pass it around more, it seems to be working but it can get hairy at times...

Great, from reading the posts it looks like another easy *** version of My Player mode. Im selling the game if I'm getting easy double doubles midway through the rookie season.

About midway through my first season nearly every team's chemistry dropped below 20% and every team started firing their coach after EVERY GAME (literally after every game). It was like teams were playing musical chairs. Phil Jackson and Doc Rivers jumped around the league 10 times per month. The NBA.com headlines only highlighted the coaching changes, and during my post game interviews I was constantly being asked my thoughts on management's decision to fire the coach.

Finally in my second season the madness stopped, but now every team uses the same default playbook.

play on sim allstar or superstar and I guarantee you it will not be that easy.

I blocked a shot and then knocked a cameraman over into the crowd on my way down. My player then turned around and posed for the camera for a few seconds while my team ran a fast break.
