But my friend were in a major struggle before I turned on the option. They had trouble hitting jumpshots...3 pointer were even worst....Until I turned it on.

i have always used the lakers and turning this feature on just seems unfair...i know if i have a open 3 its going to go in regardless of the timing with this on. Said this last week...for FT's tho i could see using it

I dont know if it actually works.
I turned it on straight away, but the games were clangers. I would miss wide open shots with 3pt specialists. hawkins and schrempf were stinking it up on perimeter shots until I turned it off.
when I turned it off. the shot %s got much better and more realistic.

This has also been my experience.

It gets really weird in the practice gym, too. It feels like timing is still there and this option is just reducing the shooting window. Which is kind of the opposite what the game says it's supposed to do.

Maybe someone in 2k is playing tricks on us lol.

I can't believe they added real % for jumpshots....YEAH!! Before 2k was born, my friends and I would play Live with real % instead of button release. This is SIM basketball at its best. With real% shooting, have to truly play the players in their role. hopefully there %'s will update through the season. BIG UPS to 2k for adding this.

I was gonna use real %, but after few games it seems unfair. I was using the Lakers and i could never hit a jumpshot with Kobe. Its frustrating. When i turned it back to shot stick, it was much better...

So weird. So many different experiences with Real FG%. I'm not sure what that means exactly.
"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

I used the real player % today with the pistons and didnt enjoy the experience at all. I literally shot 30% from the field. I don't know if that was due to how horrid the pistons are, or me

Re: Will You Use Real Player % Or Shot Stick Timing?

With Real Shooting % guys that don't shoot well from certain areas of the court wont shoot well from there. In my opinion, a lot of things factor into real fg %, not just a strict percentage number.

I think it takes into account how open you are, the area of the floor you are shooting from, the defender guarding you (if you are being guarded), and guys who shoot contested shots routinely will miss those shots routinely, doesn't matter who you are shooting with.

That's been my experience so far. It can be frustrating, but it also makes it so you really have to run the offense, use screens, think one pass ahead, and take open shots with the right players. I really love it.

Good and valid points. However, even open and "make-able" shots still misses. I like that 2K added this feature, but this might have been broken still...

Sorry for askinh butSo,, Kobe Bryant cannot put up 60% FG in a match if the real player% turned on ??? Kendrick Perkins will averaging 30 PPG on 60% FG shooting ? Its unrealistic

I believe the shot release timing window is also dependant on difficulty level. The harder the difficulty, the smaller the window.
