Re: Will You Use Real Player % Or Shot Stick Timing?

He's talking about jump shots and no one is saying they'll go 10-10 from the field.

But, guys are shooting at too high a percentage. Even if it's 55%, it's too good over the course of the game.

      Exactly what I'm talking about.

I shoot in the high 50-60% when I use shot stick. And can easily get a superstar extremely hot. Just because I know the players release.

My question about %'s is the context.

If a guy who is a 45% shooter from the floor...going to more or less hit that % come hell or high water?

Or does shot selection, defense, style of play, fatigue, timing still factor into the equation.

If its like NBA Live 10, Id be all for using it, but I dont know enough about how the %s are implemented to give it a shot.

All those things you mentioned, Sporty, do come into play with Real FG%.

shot stick first; get your percentage in the 80-90s.

            then real player percentage. pwnage.

its just the opposite for me...shot stick i dont make as much but with RP% the shots are automatic no matter what i do..Jumpers are EXTREMELY easy to hit using RP% cause basically you dont even have to do anything just let the CPU shooot for you ...You even said it yourself its Better for your friends who dont know how to play because they dont have to learn the player first...Id rather have to learn every single players shot timing...Theres no way im gonna get every single players jumper perfect all game long and im not talking about FT cause like i stated before i use it for FT's but using it for jumpers it just wayyy to easy

Lets play 2 games tonight. Same settings for both just one real player % on and the other off. You'll see the positives and negatives. Last night I did the samething. I played 2 games with the same teams. In the first with shot stick timing. My friend (league memeber) and I scored in the 80's in a 8 min quarter game. In the very next game with real player% with the same teams and same settings. We scored in the 60's. Even the shooting percentages were totally different. In the game with the shot stick we shot in the high 50's. And in the real player% game we shot in the low 30%. Now don't think for one minutes that we are noobs lol. We are vets we have played at least 100 plus online games since release. So don't go down that road. And we also played with teams we've played with before. In the game with the shot stick. We hit like 9-10 3's each. In the real player % game...we had 2 at half each.

If anyone would like to play to test this out. I'm up for it tonight. Same teams and same settings.

Also to add....in the shot stick game...Amare was 3-3 from the 3 point line. In the next game he was 0-2. Amare has a 49 three pointer rating.

I guarantee you wont hit 3's with Amare against me....Once again im asumming this is in Player vs player matches...HOF against the CPU with real shot timing i doubt you would go 3-3 or 9 for 10 which is the mode i am refferring to the use of this feature in

Re: Will You Use Real Player % Or Shot Stick Timing?

hey IMO ppl are taking this whole true to real life FG % way too seriously that they forget that this is a game and a game doesnt work without human interactions .....if it does then it just an interactive movie (like my friends call heavy rain and metal gear solid 4 the best game they ever watched lol)...all ur doing is simulating the game with real % on with very little skilled and strongly based on probability over possibility....so real % = lakers beats everybody in the west and heats everybody in the east.....how is that fun
can real % explain why indiana almost had a perfect 3rd quarter the other night hitting 20 of 21 shots...or can it axplain paul milsap hitting three 3 in a row.this is why we watch nba in the first place remeber cause like last years theme slogan says IT IS WHERE AMAZING HAPPENS.and amazing is hornets with a 7 and 0 start this year .rea FG% just throw all VC's hard work to try to simulate nba games with attributes, tendencie and ratings sright out the window for hardcore sim players who desire this option.....
sorry if i step on anybody's foot but that is just my opinion

If you have been talking about vs the CPU for 40 pages now. Then we have been talking about 2 totally different things lol

And also your last post I think confused what I said. In the shot stick timing game Amare was 3-3 from the three point line (because he obviously knows Amares release). But in the real player% game he was 0-2. That just shows that a guy like Rondo would be able to hit open 3's because you know his release. Which totally unrealtic.

I think you have Shot Stick timing a bit misunderstood. It isn't just dependent on a perfect release. FG% is factored. I've mastered Lebron James' shot and I still miss, and I know its mastered because I have feedback turned on and its green everytime. Sometimes open as well. The rare time you make a shot when you shoot too early or too late which is where part of the FG% comes into play.

People don't want unrealistic FG% stats, well what if you use a player and only take higher FG% shots.
