Re: Will You Use Real Player % Or Shot Stick Timing?

I'm going with real % for FTs and shot-stick timing for FGs. I want my user input to be a factor.

I'm playing right now... I played with both real and stick shooting... I think all the real fg% does is limit the shooting 100% to ratings. So basically it just removes your shooting input, that's all it does.

Re: Will You Use Real Player % Or Shot Stick Timing?

Well if you have players that you have issues with in terms of proper release (some shots are just poorly made) then it's OK to use it I guess. For example, playing with the Magic - Rashard seems to have, like in 2k10 (but to a lesser extent now) a "weird" timing on his jumpshot.

So it's an option if you feel like a player becomes useless not because of you but because of faulty shooting mechanics in the game.

^^And yes I could totally see how that could workout for a casual user^^ I might have to use this for my friends.

I love how people who completely misunderstand a feature try to explain it to others, like the guy who said that this means Kobe will automatically shoot 75% from 3-point range.

Like most reasonable people, I'll give this feature a shot. If it seems too cheesy, I'll go back to the old way. If it provides a good experience, I'll adopt it.

Re: Will You Use Real Player % Or Shot Stick Timing?

Okay I think I can explain this once and for all in a way all can understand.

For any given shot, runner in the lane, fadeaway 3, contested jumper, wide open jumper, a players rating from the location and all other factors that go into a "score" for the likely hood of the shot going in, that "score" is the same for both shot stick and RP% features.

The ONLY difference is that, after that "score" is determined, shot stick users can either increase it with a perfect release or decrease it with a poor release. RP% makes you roll with the original "score" no matter what.

                    Example:

                    Score for given shot

                    55 (shot stick perfect)
                    50 (RP%)
                    45 (poor shot release)

The only difference is that RP% you are always getting the middle option, no bonus no penalty, and with shot stick you can get a bonus and a penalty.

Other then that everything is exactly the same.

Average is 62. Anyone with a 75 is pretty good.

I had the chance to play the game today for several hours. I played with sim sliders and on pro. Of course I turned on Real Player %. But this option my friends is broken. I am not an expert on release timing but after 3 games on sim/pro @12 min qrts I was really pissed by caron butler hitting 3 of 20 open shots. kidd hittin not a single open 3 and so on.

FG % of me AND cpu were in all games <40% and neither me nor the cpu managed to get more than 75-80 pts in 48 minutes!

Frustrated I went to the practice menu and tested with butler open mid range shots. With real player % he would make 1-2 of 20 mid range jumpers (standing still). With shot stick timing on I could manage to hit 8 of 10 (same like in 2k10) from the same positions in practice mode.

I want to play SIM but this option is not sim. Its broken.

Besides of that this is the best sports game ever made.

                            Discouraging news, though..

I don't understand why the real player fg% would affect the cpu. Actually cpu is using real player fg% even if you have it on off. Or am i wrong?
