Re: Will You Use Real Player % Or Shot Stick Timing?
hmm..I'll have to see how this works...I understand the merits of each side of the argument.
I thought 'the other brand' did a really good job at incorporating situational, real life shooting %'s last year.
My biggest concern about a % based system is what determines when the % is going to kick in, from a context point of view.
Is the game going to 'make' me brick a bunch of shots when I really need them, because the %'s say that its time to clank this shoot, defense and timing be damned?
I need more info as to how the %'s are going to be implimented.Comment

Re: Will You Use Real Player % Or Shot Stick Timing?
False.
You will have no bonus or penalty based on the shot stick. All the shot stick does is give you a bonus or penalty based on your release. You can still have a bad release and the ball will go on, and you can have a perfect release and miss.
Also, I highly doubt a 75 rating means knocking down 75%. I bet it puts you in the 75th percentile of 3pt shooters, like 35%. I'm just guessing though, so I'd like a 2K dev to please elaborate a bit.
Amedog: I hear you about online. I know online is generally to have "competition" in the game by using "stick skill". I can almost guarantee you that 2K will have all this OFF by default, just like Real FT% has always been.
I hope it's off for your sake because if it's on the boards will be burned to the ground by angry online gamers.
I agree. a 75 shooting rating to me, means joe average, nba shooter.Comment

Re: Will You Use Real Player % Or Shot Stick Timing?
Ok, wide open shots aren't going to be much different.
You'll have a greater default chance of making them because you're wide open.
Using shot stick feedback you'll either get a bonus or penalty based on your release.
Days of dominating with players who you have their release down are still here. Last year I could score 25/gm with Wayne Ellington because he had an easy release and decent shooting ratings.
But yes you could average 25 with a player by using basketball fundamentals. I know a guy in my league that could get McCast 20 a game. But that's because he would get him open shots with CP3 on kick outs. And rotate the ball to the open shooters. McCast isn't going to get 25 points playing one on one and hitting difficult shoots like a Kobe will.Hands Down....Man Down - 2k9 memories

i edited it and went into more detail but you are definitely right. We can both be happy. When i post i by far am not bashing anyones choice either way they feel. Its a option and nobody's choice is going to effect the next personComment

Re: Will You Use Real Player % Or Shot Stick Timing?
I'm hoping that the % changes with defensive pressure on the shot. I can't imagine 2K would let that slide and say a contest jump shot has the same % to go in as a wide open one.SOS Madden League (PS4) | League Archives

^^ Exactly ^^
Thats where I think Clutch, Shooting in Traffic and Shooting off the Dribble play a little part as well.Hands Down....Man Down - 2k9 memories

Re: Will You Use Real Player % Or Shot Stick Timing?
Yea ok thats where i need more info on real fg%. But idk i guess im one of those thats for more control and it seems like real% is taking control away in the shooting dept but i will definitely give it a tryComment

Re: Will You Use Real Player % Or Shot Stick Timing?
If that's the case, I would have no problem using it, and would actually prefer that.
I also agree with Jeeb's point, that the other periphery ratings: clutch, spot up shot, off the dribble shot, shot in traffic, would still be a factor also.Comment

Re: Will You Use Real Player % Or Shot Stick Timing?
I think im still going to use shot stick out but to repeat myself i will try real% out. Real% will definitely be good for people who feels the cpu cheat and they cant hit shoots on hof diff.Comment
