Re: Will You Use Real Player % Or Shot Stick Timing?
but people shouldnt be relying on predetermined shot success offered by the CPU with real FG%. if i miss because i released late then so be it but if i hit even though i released horribly then i am handicappedComment

Re: Will You Use Real Player % Or Shot Stick Timing?
Personally, I don't use real FG% because I find it to be too difficult. I am consistently in the 35% area of shooting. When I bump to Shot Stick, I shoot 45%.
Not sure why this is exactly when some people shoot too well using real FG%, but perhaps it is style of game."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

I believe that is up to the gamer to decide.

And to the guys who posted before this. Maybe I was a little over the top when I said 100%. But when you get a good release. You get a rating boost. The example I keep using over and over. Rondo... will most likely hit a 3 if you leave him wide open and the user gets a good release. But with real player...you would threat him like Shaq out there.Hands Down....Man Down - 2k9 memories

Re: Will You Use Real Player % Or Shot Stick Timing?
I think you have Shot Stick timing a bit misunderstood. It isn't just dependent on a perfect release. FG% is factored. I've mastered Lebron James' shot and I still miss, and I know its mastered because I have feedback turned on and its green everytime. Sometimes open as well..SLIDERS SUCKComment

Re: Will You Use Real Player % Or Shot Stick Timing?
like Jeebs said, once u get a players release down and he has a decent rating then thats it. they can make damn near anything. anyone with thier Mid or 3PT rating in the upper 60's and above can become Ray Allen if u learn thier release. then things got down right ridiculous........
Shaq hit a 16ft jumper
Nenad Kristic became Durants sidekick avg 18-20 points per game.
Hasheem Thabeet became a mid-range threat
Zach Randolph became unstoppable
AND.......
O.J. Mayo became Kobe Bryant inside the arc and Dale Ellis behind it!
people have lives man. thats great thing about this game. the casuals can have fun and the game is deep enough for the hardcore. devs purposely make the games this way for different people to have fun. so when my friends come by we both can have a good time with the game."on hoping there is a PSN flash sale before Valentine's Day"
Man there are no flashers... now what are we going to do for vd
yea but will they take psn cards

Re: Will You Use Real Player % Or Shot Stick Timing?
What style do you play? On sim style with Real FG % on im having huge difficulities shooting over 40% no matter what team i control. Maybe i'm not good at the game but after i tested real fg% in 3 point shootout i think real fg%+sim style doesnt work well.Comment

Re: Will You Use Real Player % Or Shot Stick Timing?
When i play on SIM i can shut the CPU down wayyyyy to easily they miss everything.
Now i know people will say default is not the way to go but the CPU makes some CRAZY stuff on HOF default. Presents far more of a challenge then when its on simSLIDERS SUCKComment

I like learning and perfecting releases so I'm a shoot button/shot stick guy. I just switched my free throws over to Real Player % though and it's feeling rather foreign and uncomfortable. I figured it was for the best though because I had mastered Ben Wallace's free throw routine. I decided it was time to even things up a little with the opposition via free throws.Comment

Re: Will You Use Real Player % Or Shot Stick Timing?
Last night I turn turned it back to shot timing. And had my first CPU blowout in about a month (Also Rondo hit 2 three pointers the CPU).... My friend and I played a game. We scored 90 points in a HOF default game 5 minute game. I was pretty shocked. It was actually an NBA today game. Our game was exactly like the actually Laker - Denver game.Last edited by jeebs9; 11-12-2010, 09:37 AM.Hands Down....Man Down - 2k9 memories
