Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

Just played game two of the Western Conference Finals in my Kings Association, I'm now up 2-0 over Oklahoma City (who upset LAL in first round).

Sometimes I don't play this for a couple weeks and forget how great this game is. I just love it. Both games have been great this series. Earl Watson has come up big for me in limited minutes as a reserve. He really pushes the ball well and provides a great spark off the bench.

DeMarcus Cousins is just rap&%ng Kristic at every opportunity, it's been fun to watch. And of course, Tyreke is Tyreke.

Kevin Durant is just freakin' beastly, but not getting the help he needs. I can live with him getting 40 if Westbrook only gets 10.

Now it's on to OKC for game 3.

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

After starting the year 6-5, we (the Pistons) ran off a 16-2 stretch to end the year at 22-7 and finish with the NBA's best record (narrowly edging out the Lakers and Heat, both of whom finished at 21-8).

      Individual Accolades for My Team:
      Steve Nash: 2nd team All-NBA, 2nd team All-Defense (ha!)
      Greg Monroe: 2nd team All-Rookie
John Kuester: NBA Coach of the Year

LeBron James won the MVP and John Wall won ROY.

First round playoff series is against Milwaukee. We beat them during the year by 17 at the Bradley Center, but they didn't have Bogut for that game. I narrowly avoided a match-up with Orlando, who are now locked into an enticing 2/7 match-up with Miami.

Of my 7 losses this year, only 2 were to the East: one against Miami, and then another on the last day of the year to Atlanta in which I pretty much rested all my starters having home-court locked up (and even then, it took a Bibby buzzer beater). I like my chances in the East against anyone other than the Heat.

Should I get to the Finals and play the Lakers, it's crazy to think I'll have home-court advantage due to the fact that I beat them on a last second three-pointer. Otherwise, they'd be a game ahead of me. That's why we made the Nash trade, though...

Update to follow with all Round 1 results.

I play as the Wizards and my record is currently 7-7. I beat the Lakers and the Heat in back to back games (yes i know unrealistic but they were very close games), but yet I had 3 straight losses against the Kings, Warriors and TIMBERWOLVES? Are you joking? The Wolves are the worst in the conference and they have 1 player that is 80+, the rest aren't even in the 70's in ratings.

I just don't understand. I use the same sliders for all these games but yet these weak teams obliterated me. I'm not even talking about close wins, the Timberwolves beat me 115-90. Ridiculous.
Yup, I'm 10-7 with the Wizards. I went into Miami and beat them without John Wall, Andray Blatche, and Al Thornton; 99-93. I went into Boston and won 108-95. But I'm 0-2 against Philadelphia, lost to the Knicks without Amar'e Stoudemire. So, IDK what's up either. I'm taking a little break from my Association at the moment.

What? An above average SF for a 67 rated SF? If trade override isn't on, then something weird happened.

Totally agree with this, you could have gotten something better or kept what you had.

It's a little surprising the CPU would do it. I know a friend of mine would. His fantasy draft team in his Association runs through Korver, just screen, screen, three. Korver leads the league in PPG.

What do you guys suggest for the Hawks when I sim with them? They seem to always lose when I sim, and it usually is because the guards shoot low percentages. We lost to the Pistons and they are the worst team in my Association...

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

                  I'm doing a suns assoc.

                  Pg-john wall(trade override)
                  Sg-rookie pick
                  Sf-paul george
                  Pf-hakeem warrik
C-glenn arthur(currently leading the nba in scoring at 35 ppg and averaging 11 reb) he just put 41 on bargnani, his second 40 point game early in the season, my offense absolutely runs through him.

I have dragic, dudley, calderon, gortat on my bench

For dragic and calderon I have two very interesting offers

                  1. Dragic and calderon and 2014 1st for anthony randolph(77 overall, 5yr 67 mil. Contract) and throw away player

                  OR

                  2. Orton and throw away for the same

I'm leaning towards orton thinking I can move him for a good pick then bundle mine to move up and get this pf I have my eye on.

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

Game 6 - Western Conference Quarter Finals

Here's a quick recap before I get into Game 6:
                    Game 1: PHX - 105 LA - 98
                    Game 2: LA - 100 - PHX - 81
                    Game 3: PHX - 102 LA - 95
                    Game 4: LA - 116 PHX - 109
                    Game 5: LA 104 - PHX - 97

So the Lakers have a 3-2 lead heading into Game 6 and we're in a must win situation. They s have pretty much been outplaying us in every facet of the game. Especially, in rebounds and Points in the Paint. To counter this Coach Gentry decided to change is lineup from:

                    PG - Nash
                    SG - Pietrus
                    SF - Childress
                    PF- Hill
                    C- Gortat

                    to:

                    PG - Nash
                    SG - Pietrus
                    SF - HiLL
                    PF - Warrick
                    C - Gortat

The reason for the change was to add lenght to our starting lineup so that hopefully we could grab some more boards and keep the Points in the Paint in check.

In Game 6 the Lakers came out hot again. Lead by Kobe they took a 30-21 lead in the 1st Quarter. The 2nd was a different story, as Nash, Hill and Dragic helped put up 35 to LA's 27. Making the score 57-56, LA, at the half.

The Lakers came out on fire to start the 3rd, outscoring us 33-25. In the 4th Coach did his best to rally the troops. However, our best defensive wing, Mickael Pietrus, went down with a back injury and Kobe took over from there. In the end our depleted squad just wasn't enough and LA came away with the 114-111 win.

Kobe had a Jordanesque type playoff performance (43 pts, 16-24 from the field, 2-4 3P, 9-13 FT, 5 assists, 3 steals, 2 rebounds and 0 turnovers).
Pau Gasal notched his 5th Double-Double of the series by scoring 14 points to go along with 17 boards ans 4 blocks.
Bynum and Shannon Brown also came through with big games. Bynum had 19 points while Brown had 16 off the bench.

Nash had another monster game for Phoenix (37 points, 13-23 from the field, 6-10 3P, 5-5 FT, 13 assists, 2 rebounds and 2 TO's.
Dragic added 20 points off the bench in the loss and Grant Hill, likely played his last game of Professional Basketball also had a decent game by scoring 15 points and grabbing 6 rebounds.

The Suns Front Office will now have a lot to think about this off-season. Most Notably what to do with Vince Carter, finding a replacement for Grant Hill and whether to keep or trade Nash. The next few weeks will definitely be interes

I just simmed the rest of the playoffs and I can't figure out how to advance. I don't see anything on the Playoff Tree or the Headlines. Am I looking in the wrong places or what?

The Mavs resigned Barea after his contract expired then I traded for Ilyasova & Dooling for him.

I'm loving association this year, but I've always thought it was important to have some control over CPU rosters, so I have CPU trades off(except draft day), and initiate movements myself.

Cool write up, Big off-season for you dude. Don't forget you get 2 1st rounders after the Magic trade so hopefully you can pick up some decent talent.
If I was you I'd still try and contend, you've obviously done well to make play-offs, try and improve through the free-agency and get a good post like Randolph.

Alright, I just finished the month of February in my Jazz association. It was my worst month so far, as I went 7-5. I beat the Rockets (129-113), Nuggets (123-110), Kings (107-103), Suns (x2, 122-106 and 130-105), Mavericks (100-92) and the Pistons (107-105). I lost to the Thunder (139-138), Bulls (132-123), Warriors (134-119), Pacers (99-88), and Celtics (116-109). D-Will had 58 points in that Celtics game but nobody else could get anything going.

I made one move at the trade deadline...

                                Jazz get:
                                C Jeff Foster
                                PF Josh McRoberts
                                2011 2nd round pick

                                Pacers get:
                                SG Glen Roberts
                                C Nikola Pekovic
                                PG Sundiata Gaines

Why for the Jazz: I needed a better back up C and Jeff Foster fit the bill perfectly. I wasn't happy with Pekovic and I had Roberts, a D-league guy with good potential, signed, so I offered them up in the trade finder and this is what the Pacers offered.

Why for the Pacers: After starting off the year good, they have fallen off fast. Foster was unhappy, as was McRoberts. They clear some bigs off their crowded roster and get a young SG and a young PG to try to get back on track with.

It was the only move made at the trade deadline in the league.

I had D-Will and Al Jefferson make the All-Star game. The East won it 101-86.

Deron continues to lead the MVP race. He's currently first in PPG (28.1) and APG (13.4). Millsap is second in MIP and third in the MVP race. He's averaging 20.4 PPG and 7.5 RPG.

With only 21 games left in the season, I'm sitting atop the Western conference at 46-15. Dallas is second at 39-20, the Thunder third at 36-22, and the Lakers fourth at 36-25. Over in the East, the Heat are number one at 42-18, the Magic second at 40-21, the Celtics third at 36-22, and the Pacers and Bulls are tied for fourth at 32-26.

I got a lot of tough games in March/April. Hopefully I can play better than I did in February and continue to lead the league until the Playoffs. Until than, thanks for reading.
