    Nice. I love your updates.

But didn't Josh Childress sign a 5 year deal with your Suns? Or did you waive him?

5-2 after pre-season matches and in my final game durant posted 17 points,13 assists and 13 rebounds so was looking good i think the addition of shaq and my other bench players hav been the best thing shaq had 14 points 12 rebounds 8 blocks in my 3rd game of pre season im suprised though that im now 1st overall definsively and offensivly but second in the league wen both r added together

First 3 weeks of season and im now 6-1 durant averaging double double for points and rebounds shaq is clogging up the lane wen on defense so its helping my other guys to play more aggresively on the outside and hedo and house are now fit so they give good back ups for thier positions and my stareters now can get good rests with the depth i hav westbrook and stuckey are now sharing points and asists and my team chemistry has gone up and jeff green has an increase in points and rebounds averages and cole aldrich is improving in every area so hes gonna be an excellent centre wen shaq leaves

I traded him during the draft. From the Rate My Trade Thread:

My reasoning was I wanted to move up and take SF/SG Tyler Honeycutt from UCLA. He made Childress expendable. Also for Denver, Carmelo left so they needed a SF.
In retrospect, maybe I should have given them a little more but, Childress is rated 77 and is still relatively young so at the time it seemed fair by the games standards.

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

They drafted a new blue chip franchise player, they have a new owner, and they traded the Hibachi. However, one more change was to be needed in order to get a new era in the organization. So, feeling that Ernie Grunfeld doesn't need another chance at building another era of mediocrity, I'm taking over the Washington Wizards.

            Wall / Hinrich / Hudson
            Young /
            Lewis / Howard / Thornton / Martin

            Blatche / Yi / Booker
            McGee / Armstrong / N'Diaye

            D-League - Seraphin

So far we are off to a 1-4 start and we just won our first game against Cleveland. Through 5 games, Wall has a line of 18.0 /4.2 /9.4, Blatche is at 16.2/6.0/0.4, and then it's a whole bunch of suckage. Hinrich has been all kinds of terrible for me as my 6. Went 0-12 one game. Yi has been very reliable for me when I actually play, but when I sim he doesn't deliver. Not expecting to win more than 25 games and will be doing my due diligence and hopefully blowing it up even more (with the exception of Wall and possibly Yi). Have been exploring options to land Cousins out of Sacramento to reunite him with Wall, but they want either Wall straight up or Blacthe/McGee/another player and a 1st. I'll explore else where for now. I'll write up an update once I hit the halfway point.

*NOTE I usually play games in this pattern:
            - Play 1 full game
            - Sim 1 full game
            - Sim half/play other half of a game
            - Sim 1 full game
            - Play 1 full game
            - Sim 1 full game
            - and so on and so on

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

Rolling with the Cavs this year and boy am i having a great time! I love having no legit superstar on the team and i would have to build my team back into contention, and so far i am surprising myself.

I am doing a 29 game season because I dont like simming games cause I feel like the computer messes things up.

My team is 9-11 heading into the final month of the season and I am in really good position to make the playoffs. Im currently in the 10th spot but I have a reaaaaally favorable schedule (6 of teams are below .500) so i can actually make the playoffs this year and im pretty excited about that. My team has been off and on the whole season but I have found the right players so far. I traded Jamison early in the season to the Knicks for Eddie Curry and Kelenna Azibuike. Mo Williams went down for 6-8 weeks so I had to make a move for a solid player so I traded Joey Graham and Christian Eyenga for Chris Duhon. At the trade deadline I traded Ramon Sessions for Luke Walton

Duhon has been playing amazing I learned his shot and he has been money. Two players that have formed into the stars of my team are Daniel Gibson and JJ Hickson. I originally was going to trade Hickson but he is so good I am going to keep him. Gibson is money from 3 and Hickson is great posting up I have decided to build around them in the future.
              My lineup:
              Williams/Duhon
              Gibson/Azibuike
              Parker/Walton/Moon
              Hickson/Powe
              Varejao/Hollins/Curry

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

im not really a big player of this mode per se but since 2k11 is such a great game i wanted to at least enjoy other aspects and features it offers...more importantly, i know a lot of OS users love it so i want to see what's going on

starting an association with the trailblazers

PG: kirk hinrich / jose calderon
SG: brandon roy / rudy fernandez
SF: nicolas batum / matt barnes
PF: lamarcus aldridge / tyrus thomas / dante cunningham
C: greg oden / robin lopez / joel przybilla

i had to bump up oden's durability prior to the starting association because yeah...we know where this usually ends up...did some trades also to get perennial future role players and lots of big bodies to create a strong defensive team...

yes, not really fair in the sense that i did the trade unrealistically from the main menu but i wont actually be playing the games in this mode...more than likely i'll just simulate the seasons and manage the game from the front office/managerial position to see what may happen...maybe it's not fun in the sense that most of the people who use this mode are accustomed to but i enjoy it nonetheless...

random fact: average age of this team roster is 24 O_O

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

Both of you guys really going into franchises to build!

@DrPhibes: I don't know why, but I strongly dislike Andray Blatche. He seems like a tool, and I think he plays soft. I also don't buy McGee as a C because he's such a twig, but then again, I adore Hinrich's game (and in my Associaton, he was leading the league in Total Shooting % for the Wizards, go figure). The Cousins trade sounds insane, but the computer seems to always ask for a lot when I see them trade. I know the AI loves Cousins though, and values him highly. Maybe look at Terrance Williams, he always seems to be unhappy in Jersey, and Q-Rich will get griping in Orlando I bet.

@Tebow: Hickson is dangerous, man. He's a talent and the game makes him a pretty fierce up and comer. 6-8 weeks for Mo is harsh in a 29 game season, but seems like you managed the situation pretty well. Why the Jamison trade? He's one of your best offensive options and both the guys you got are on the bench (Curry way down in the rotation).

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

Finally Im on + in my Jazz chise 9-8 and 8-2 in my last 10 games Deron is still playin like Hall of Famer. I traded Raja Bell, Earl Watson and one more player (dont remember who) to Trail Blazers for Wesley Matthews, A. Johnson and a bench warmer. Johnson is my second PG, get just 8-10 minutes behind D-Will. I decided to trade for Matthews, cause hes such a great defender (like Raja), has a decent shooting, and I really regret that Jazz didnt match the Blazers offer. I planning to transform him into great defender, within 2-3 years. I know that his contract is really big, time will show if that be a good decision. In his debut he scores 21, 5reb, 5asst

                    My team:

                    D-Will/Johnson
                    Matthews/Miles/Price
                    Kirilenko/Miles/Evans
                    Griffin/Okur
                    Jefferson/Okur/Elson/Fesenko

I usually play in 9 men rotation, send Evans to D-League.

I like what you are doing with my Cavs! Guys how would you rate my Cavs reubuild in terms of being relistic and being good for me? Here is what I did. I simmed the first season:

Here is my rotation for the start of the 2010 campaign

                      Williams / Sessions
                      Gibson / Parker
                      Alonzo Gee / Moon
                      Jamison / Hickson / Powe
                      Varejo / Hollins

                      Move 1)

Traded Mo and Jamario Moon to the Kings for the 1st rounder and Darnell Jackson - strictcly a salary dump for me. Kings need a PG who can score and I get a pick

                      Move 2)

Traded Ramon Session and Varejo to the Knicks for Eddy Curry and Toney Douglas and their 2011 1st rounder. Good trade for both sides. Both were rumored to be talking to each other in real life. Knicks get a defensive minded C and I get cap relief

So this is my rotation after the firesale:

                      Douglas / Gibson
                      Parker / Eyenga
                      Gee / Graham
                      Jamison / Hickson / Powe
                      Hollins / Curry / Samuels

Pretty successfull firesale if you ask me. I landed 2 first round picks, got rid of Mo and Varejo's bloading contracts and picked up a 10 million expiring in Eddy Curry from NY.

Ended up with the 5th worst record in the league. Got the 2nd , 5th and 20th pick in the draft. I had a great draft. Took Barnes at 2 (76 overall A pot) and Sullinger at 5 (74 overall a pot).

In free agency I picked up Shannon Brown, Tashawn Prince, Chauny Billups (1 year deal) and Sameul Dalembert. I traded Jamison and my 2012 second rounder to the Clippers for Chris Kaman. I needed a center.

Here is my 2011 Cavs rotation. I'm happy with it.

Chauncy Billups / Tony Douglas / Demetri Mccamey
Shannon Brown / Dan Gibson / Manny Harris / Eyenga
Tayshawn Prince / Harrison Barnes / Joey Graham
JJ Hickson / Jared Sullinger / Leon Powe
                      Chris Kaman / Sameul Dalembert

Don't know if I like the make up of this team. There is a lot of youth entangled with the veterans Billups and Prince. I am banking on Barnes and Sullinger becoming my go to scorers. The only one I see on the roster right now is Brown. Here's to hoping that Barnes will give me a spark off the bench and take over the job from prince. They are the only 2 over 30. I am very week at the center position since I delt Varejo.

I'll play every game in my 29 game season and see how I do.

So how did I do in rebuilding the Cavs? Was it pretty realistic? I think it was.

                      Thanks for the feedback!

Started a Clippers Association with Rashidi's rosters just started my 3rd season. Long story short, I had two pretty good offseasons that helped me completely rebuild my entire team, with the exception of Gordon, Aminu, and Griffin.

                        Here is my lineup now:

PG - Kyrie Irving / Jordan Farmar / Peyton Siva
SG - Eric Gordon / Chris Douglas-Roberts / Anthony Morrow
                        SF - Al-Farouq Aminu / Jeffery Taylor
PF - Blake Griffin / Donatas Motiejunas
C - Al Horford / DeAndre Jordan / Hamady Ndiaye

My only weakness with that lineup seems to be low-post defense. It will definitely be interesting to see how well I can use this team.

Thats a nice starting lineup there, but no depth in your bench, you can develop on these young players, nice team

starting an association with the trailblazers

Doing the GM stuff in Association is more than half the fun for me. I find it hard to keep an 82 game season going because I always think of another team to build or some different moves I couldve made to make the team better. I started my first association with the Bulls recently and I never ended up playing a game. Ive started over 3x now using the Clippers because I always think of a better way to build the team in the offseason or Ill play one or two games and find I dont like the team as is and start over. Ive found doing an 82 game season a little overwhelming as I really dont like simming any games. I think Im going to start over yet again with a 29 game season so I can actually play the games and do the management stuff in reasonable time.

I started a raptors chise yesterday after findin uniforms and a court Incan play on over and over again. However I probably will start another one because:

Planned on building around deroezen and bargy. Also wanted to clear some cap to go after a worthwhile group of vets. So I plugged in calderon to the trade finder, and the caves offered an '11 first round pick and booby Gibson,so I jumped at it. Simmed the season, ended up with a 17-51 record. The spurs beat the pacers 4-2 in the finals, and the pacers went through the hawks, heat, and celtics, all in 7 games (thought that was suprising)

Then came the offseason, let everyone go whose contract was up go except sonny weems. After the lottery I ended up with the 1 and 3rd picks. Ended up picking kyrie Irving first, Harrison barnes went second, so with the third pick I chose terrance jones out of Kentucky, who my scout compared to lebron. Then kebab walker went fifth and I had a radical idea. I put bargy on the block, since I realized that his $50 mil contract had to go. Warriors offerred me the fifth pick and udon for bargy and my first round pick in '12. So I one swoop, I got a defensive big man in udon, and amare 2.0 in perry jones.

After free agency, my lineup looks like this, also ended up trading derozen and a 2 for Courtney lee of the rockets:

PG: Kyrie Irving/ JJ Barea/Boobie Gibson
SG: Courtney Lee/ JJ Redick/Sonny Weems
SF: Terrance Jones/ Ryan Gomes/Julian Wright
                              PF: Perry Jones/Epke Udoh/Ilyasova
                              C: Deandre Jordan/Kasta Koufos

Looks great but I'm pissed at myself for basically creating a young future new York Knicks, and if I want to keep them I'll have to clear cap space like crazy

But I'm probably going to start another one and be a little more gradual in my reconstruction

Thats a very young team you got there. Alot of potential but your probably better off having some veterans mixed in there. I definitely wouldnt have gotten rid of Derozan for Lee especially adding a 2nd rounder to the deal. He is already a better player than Lee and has alot more potential. IRL he's had two of the best games of his career in his last two games. A 37 pt game against Courtney Lee and the Rockets and 27 against Boston.
