Next year ill start bayless when he gets more developed this year.
You should share the minutes of Bayless and Ridnour equally, as they don't need MVP like stats, youre just developing them so yeah

The Mavs entered the series firing on all cylinders, coming of a series win in 6-games against the Thunder in the Qtr-Finals.

San Antonio faced off with the Lakers who they defeated in 7 games, and by 1 point in a 91-90 game7 victory in San Antonio. The series cost them though as they entered hobbled by a few nagging injuries. Antonio McD was almost useless w/ an overall rtg that had dropped to 50 due to injury, and Richard Jefferson was playing at 50% with his injuries.

A healthy and rested Mavs team completed a sweep of the Spurs, and await an NBA Finals bout w/ the winner of the ECF. Currently, the Orlando Magic hold a 3-1 lead over the Atlanta Hawks.
Season1 [as] Mavs (All-30 Teams) Association:

The Dallas Mavericks have won the NBA Championship!

After going to 7 games in the opening round -vs- the Utah Jazz, and then going to 6 games in the Qtr Final w/ the OKC Thunder. The Mavericks, en route to their franchise's first NBA Championship, swept the San Antonio Spurs and Orlando Magic, as to-be NBA Legends Dirk Nowitzki and Jason Kidd won their 1st NBA Championships as well.

Dirk Nowitzki was named Finals MVP, and his playoff averages were:

      Mpg: 34.8
      Pts: 29.6
      Rebs: 8.5
      Bpg: 1.1
      Spg: 1.0
      Apg: 1.7
      FG%: 52%
      FT%: 87%
      3pt%: 27%

      Results for the NBA Finals:
      Game1: ORL 74 - DAL 89
      Game2: ORL 99 - DAL 102
      Game3: DAL 113 - ORL 94
      Game4: DAL 101 - ORL 89

So it's onto the offseason. Should be interesting to see what happens. Already a large amount of players have declared for free agency, and most notable was Carmelo Anthony who declined his player option.

In my second season I want to focus more time and energy on developing the 76ers while still trying to defend the Mavs title.

I'm going to try and get another couple title runs out of this Mavs team, and for their offseason plan I want to bring in another star to play alongside Dirk and eventually take over the reigns?

Someone I have in mind as a nice compliment would be sending Andre Igoudala to Dallas, but he's not really the star-type player I want to pair w/ Dirk. Will have to see what my options are, and go from there. Could Melo be headed to the Mavs? ....who knows....

As for now, here are the players (+ 1 coach) who have retired:
      Juwan Howard
      Erick Dampier
      Theo Ratliff
      Mark Madsen
      Joe Smith
      Chucky Atkins
      Grant Hill
      Marcus Camby
      George Karl

      HOF Inductees:

Traded pitmann, howard, j jones, joel anthony, magloire and carlos arroyo away and my 1st and 2nd round picks for this year and my 2nd round for next year.

I traded with warriors, suns and grizzlies and this is what i ended up with

Pg - Rafer alston, Mario chalmers, Jeremy lin.
Sg - Dwayne Wade, Mike miller
Sf - Lebrone james, Dorrel wright, jared dudley
Pf - Chris bosh, Udonis Haslem and Louis amundson
C - Hasheem Thabeet, Zydranus illagauskus

Pg - My reason for starting rafer over mario chalmers is because i like his playmaking skills and with his vet experience hed fit in well with the starting line up. While mario chalmers can run with the 2nd unit and just in case someone gets injured i got jeremy lin whos a scorer mentality pg.

Sg - Wade ofcourse starting. I left it as is even though i dont like mike miller. I figure even if i trade him i wouldnt get much back, i got offered ronnie brewer by the bulls but i said no because i dont need another high flyer, id rather have a shooter.

Sf - I dont like the idea of lebrone playing 40 mins i figured id drop him down to 33 mins and have back ups for him. Dorrel wright was a heat previously and he is a premiere shooter as well. I figure with a back court of mario chalmers, mike miller and dorrel wright, udonis haslem and z i have a sharp shooter bench. Jared dudley i got him because i like his drive and his intensity, plus i can develop him to be good.

pf - Chris bosh is starting ofcourse, even though hes on a downhill id prefer to keep the heat 3 stars together, Haslem i kept him because hes a good mid range shooter and would fit in very well with my bench. Louis amundson he was just a thrown in to make the warriors trade match, but i picked him as the throw in becuase he plays nice defense. Something he learned from the suns effectively.

c- Now this is the shocker, Why i chose to start hasheem thabeet over z. I believe thabeet will be great as long as he get splaying time and development during season and off season. With the heat starting lineup the way it is, they dont need an offensive big man, they need a defensive.

I also figured if z was on the bench hed fit in with them and would keep him much fresher when play off time comes.

Its not completely an uber crazy team but i feel i can atleast make 2nd round play offs with this and hope to make a splash in fa with another mid level acquisition.
Why not play Lebron 40 minutes a night? He's your best player and having him on the floor for less minutes would ultimately hurt your team.

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

So I'm looking to get into Association mode this weekend. I think I'm going to run with the Wizards since I don't really have a connection with any team being from the Kansas City area.

My question is what do you all suggest to keep things as realistic as possible? I have read that 30 Team Control is the way to go but what all goes into that? Will the teams that I'm not technically "controlling" still try to make trades or do I have to do that?

What are some good house rules that you all like to run with to make the Association more enjoyable? Anything you all can tell me would be much appreciated.

I think you have to do all the trades with a 30 team controlled franchise. My advice is just to turn player roles off.

Did a fantasy draft a few days ago and it went well, doing great so far. Anyway, LeBron (who averaged 36 PPG the 1st two) was way off in the 3rd game (8-21 shooting), but J-Rich came up HUGE. I had probably the single best scoring game I've ever had, going 12-13 from the field (5-5 from three) for 32 points and 3-4 from the line with him. The one shot he missed? A lay-up. Go figure. Anyway, I shot 92% with him. That's ridiculous. I didn't adjust any of the sliders or anything prior, either.

My first season with Cleveland is 100% awful. I am now 0-13 (29 game season) and cannot find a way to win a game.

I cannot wait to blow this team to pieces...

I guess that is pretty close to reality, right?

I'm doing a Cleveland association as well. What do you guys think of that Trade Finder system?

I used it and now my lineup looks like this:

                  PG: Mo Williams
                  SG: S. Vujacic
                  SF: J.Williams
                  PF: Elton Brand
                  C: A. Varejao

Not sure if it's realistic or not. I have the scout scouting Galinari from the Knicks for the SF position, and also scouting M.Gasol from the Grizzlies for the Center position. Not necessarily looking for stars. But I want this team to be strong.

controlling all 30 teams is the way to go, you make the trades for the every team, I turn off players roles that is the key to.

currently in year 1 of my phoenix suns association and we are in 2nd place about a week before the trade dead line. Last game we had both frye and gortat go down with injuries and both are gone for a couple months.

                            current line up looks like

                            nash 17.5 ppg 11 apg
                            carter 19.5ppg
                            hill 14ppg 7rbg
                            warrick 10ppg 12rbg
                            lopez 12 ppg 11 rbg
                            6th man dudley

we are 3rd in the league in scoring but once again lack alot of defense. having both frye and gortat out i may end up moving a sf since the sun's are pretty deep with hill, dudley, childress, petrus . The first part of the season started off horrible and saw a 10-20 record to begin the year, then things started to go right for the suns. we went on a 10 game streak to hit .500 and followed that up with another 8 gm run to finally be in the playoff hunt. Being a suns fan since the kj days i was hoping to make a deep run for nash . i think the one piece that may be missing is a decent pf to give the suns a presence on defense and help on the boards. decisions decisions lol

I disagree, i have a young roster, max id like to see bron play is 36 max.

If the other players have more time to play then they gel better and make my team much smoother.

Yeah i have 2 top 5 players, but this isnt a 2 on 2 game its a 5 on 5. I want to keep everyone happy with some playing time and some development time.

If i can with without bron or wade then im happy to do so. First season lebrone was out and we still made playoffs.

                                PG: Brandon Knight/Eric Maynor
                                SG: Manu Ginobli/Ben Gordon/Decent rookie
SF: Rudy Gay/70 ovr draft pick
PF: Josh Smith/70 ovr draft pick
                                C: Dwight Howard/Hasheem Thabeet.

                                surely, championship calibre team.

haha yeh its kind of unrecognisable now but i started with the grizzlies. i actually really like players like OJ, Xav Henry and Marc Gasol it was just necesary to shed them for this team as it is. btw, this is start of year 4 of association so its taken a while to build this team. i guess in a way its unrealistic seeing dwight leave the magic but i think the other trades/signings i made were fair enough, like the Spurs rebuilding and not resigning manu.
