Okay guys. After my Wizards Association got blown out of proportion (we were 23-10), I decided to restart. One problem: who shall I play with??

Also, give me a reason why to play with said team. Thanks.

I don't really see how that's out of porportion. The Wizards team in 2k11 is pretty good. Wall's a beast and you have a lot of good 3 point shooters. Young and Lewis are pretty damn good at knocking down 3's. You also have a solid 6th man in Hinrich. McGee is a good defensive shooter and Howard gives you nice scoring off the bench. The only real problem with the Wizard's is that there PF is really crappy. They may not be that great in real life, but there good in 2k11 because they have some quality players. The reason they struggle so much in real life is because they make a lot of mental mistakes, but given this is a video game you won't experience the mistakes

Yeah. He's a good mid-range shooter with decent low-post skills. He averaged 16 PPG and 8 RPG for me. Other stats of note:
John Wall- 20 PPG, 10 ASP, 4 RPG
          Nick Young- 20 PPG
JaVale McGee: 8 PPG, 10 RPG, 3 BPG

I think I'm going to roll with the Grizzlies. Just beat Atlanta in the opener, 101-85. Mayo dropped 31 (7-10 3PT).

9-7 with the Nets. Devin Harris dropped 51 points on the Lakers last night with 5 minute quarters while the rest of my team scored 9 points.

Had a game for the ages. Game 2 of the my first NBA Finals.

              Heat 100
              Spurs 98

              Just a battle royal.

I will give some stats....exhausted! LOL.

Wade (player of the game) 40 minutes 39 points 5 boards 3 dimes 2 steals
              James 44 minutes 25 points 7 boards 3 dimes 2 steals
              Miller 19 minutes 24 points 2 boards
              Chalmers 40 minutes 3 points (1-9) 3 boards 13 dimes 2 steals
Juwan Howard 15 minutes 9 points 6 boards
              Bosh 26 minutes 0 points 7 boards 2 steals

Bosh was owned by Duncan.....finally I found Howard and Anthony slowed him down. He ate up Haslem in 8 uneventful minutes for Udonis 3 boards...and 4 fouls.

Ginobili (I hate this guy) 39 minutes 33 points 5 boards 2 dimes 1 steal
              Duncan 36 minutes 20 points 15 boards 2 dimes 1 steal
              Parker 38 minutes 14 points 7 boards 14 dimes

Best game I have ever played on 2K.

              25-19 Spurs after one
              49-44 Spures at the half
              71-68 after 3

The Spurs led by as many as 13 at 2 points in this game. at the 10 minute mark of the 2nd quarter before the Heat went on a 14-4 run. And 9 minute mark of the 3rd quarter.

Dwayne Wade was a sharp shooter as well as a slasher. He mixed it up.

              Series is tied at 1-1.

Golden State. Cool court/unis and two stud guards (Curry, Ellis) and a decent PF in David Lee. You'll score a lot of points, but the defense is suspect and playing in the West is tough.

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

I enjoy reading this thread. Cool stuff. Reading how succesful some guys are doing with their teams (31-1 or 23-10), I chuckle to myself because I am hovering at a 19-35 record with the Knicks. Granted, I have had tons of injuries on my team (Stoudamire out for 3 months, Anthony Randolph gone for weeks too, and even my newly acquired SG Jason Richardson went down).
I can't recall which sliders I am using, but I really enjoy them. I may not win all the time, but I have so much fun playing the games. I have played every game, and most are close. I do have the occasional blow-out put upon me, but overall, it is so fun that I dont mind losing.
That is the sign of a good game. Thanks 2K!

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

So, I started a new Association about a week ago with my Houston Rockets (first time in a long time I've done that, it seems like). I'm now in the my fourth season using Rashidi's rosters.

Basically, I started the rebuilding process. I kept the team pretty much the same, but I traded away players for more expiring contracts (I brought in Jason Richardson by trading away Luis Scola + Shane Battier). That moved Patrick Patterson into my starting PF spot, and he's never looked back.

I ended up making the playoffs in my first year, but thanks to a trade I was able to pull off, I ended up with the 2nd pick in the draft (I gave up Aaron Brooks in the process). That landed me Harrison Barnes and Lucas Nogueira (Yao's replacement). And thanks to the expiring contracts, I had about $32 million in cap space. I knew in the second offseason that I wanted to make a move for Chris Paul, though, so I kept a lot of space open.

My record turned out to be terrible in the second season, and Chris Paul re-signed with the Hornets, so I ended up picking up Raymond Felton and was able to grab Jordan Hamilton in the draft.

After the 3rd season (another subpar record), Kevin Martin's contract expired, and with my cap space, I was able to pick up James Harden (85 ovr) and Brandon Jennings (89 ovr). Now, in my 4th year, my roster looks like this:

                    PG - Brandon Jennings (89) - Avery Bradley (72)
                    SG - James Harden (85) - Marcus Thornton (77)
                    SF - Harrison Barnes (82) - Jordan Hamilton (76) - Daniel Green (67)
                    PF - Patrick Patterson (82) - Tristan Thompson (77) - Trey Thompkins (72)
                    C - Lucas Nogueira (79) - Hasheem Thabeet (72) - Nenad Krstic (68)

My team is a 97 ovr.

Chris Bosh has a major turnaround in game 3 vs the Spurs.

Chris Bosh coming off a game 2 shut out in where is did not score a point, had something to prove to his hometown fans. In game 3 of the NBA final Bosh led a solid performance by the Heat pacing them with with 30 points and 21 boards in 41 big minutes. He also added 1 dime, 2 steals and 2 blocks. Bosh was getting a ton of flack for his game 2 performance where the Heat stole home court advantage away from the Spurs. Tim Duncan still had a big night with 26 points and 17 boards.

The HEat won game 3 99-90 and now have a 2- lead heading into the decisive 4th game. A win in game 4 will give the Heat a big 3-1 lead.

I'm going with two associations w/ my favorite teams:
Chicago Bulls & Los Angeles Lakers

                        Association Settings:
                        -82 Game Season
                        -Superstar Difficulty
-No CPU Allowed Trades; I'll make trades as they happen IRL. I get big sports gamer guilt.
                        -Quarter Length: 10 Mins
                        Sim Quarter Length: 12 Mins

For other Laker users out there, D'Antoni has a huge man crush on Bynum
Bynum can get you Amare. You just have to work the salaries out. (Bynum + Blake for Amare + Rautins). My guilt just never let me go through with it. lol

I made a major overhaul in the 2nd off-season with MIL.

At first draft's and trades lead me to the team listed above. To put in bluntly i hated playing with them, they wrent going anywhere and there wsa no flow in the games...so... I did something all teams wish they could do... I re-did the off-season

                          • I let Hickson re-sign with the CAV's,
                          • I kept my picks and Q-Rich while Elliot Willams stayed with Portland,
                          • I aquired Patrick Mills along with Hamilton in my Detroit deal,
                          • Signed Kirilenko instead of Thornton,
                          • Also signed Brandon Rush,
                          • Traded Valanciunas(took too much time to develop) for Jan Vesely
                          • and waived Jon Brockman

                          So heading into 2012-13 Season

Finally checked back into this thread just now.

Where are Jeremy and JBH at? I loved their updates.

As for my Association, I haven't played 2K11 in about 2 months (crazy, I know). But I think I'm going to get back into it within the next few days. I'll probably continue my Cavs franchise since I got so deep into it, but at the same time I think I want to start fresh with Rashidi's rosters and controlling all 30 teams to keep things a little less hectic in terms of player movement.
