Yeah, I actually drafted Ibaka to be my center, but I just stuck with that lineup for now.

My defense could probably use some work. Ibaka is really the only one who consistently defends well, even though it says my defense is 3rd in the league.

Also, I just checked my player's salaries. Why did Love and Durant get skyrocketed deals? They both are on 1 year contracts for 12 million. That wasnt their salary when they were drafted, so what happened?

The Miami Heat traveled to Boston looking to right the ship. After an opening night in NY that they wanted to forget the Heat bounced back at New Jersey and took care of the Nets (who resigned Vince Carter in the off-season). Then they came home and were handled by Dwight Howard, Steve Nash and a Jason Richardson led Magic. So the Heat were reeling a little bit early in the season. So Halloween night at the Garden was looking like a game that was already a must win early in their championship defense. Well the Heat may have drank a wicked witches brew as the moon and stars were aligned. The Heat jumped out to a fast start hitting their 6 of their first 8 shots. The Big three looked like men possesed and on a mission. By the end of the first quarter the Heat led 35-14. The Heats signature defense had returned and stifiled the Celtics. Boston made a small splash this offseason in signing Keynon Martin and Allen Iverson, but both were held in check all night. Kendrick Perkins now mans the middle as the 39 year old Shaq comes off the bench. Garnett and Pierce were off all night with Bosh and Lebron in their face. The Heat led by as many as 25 in this game and the Celtics never got closer than 11 points. The Heat won this game going coast to coast and never were behind for a second. It was maybe one of the most complete team thrashings in the last 2 years. Dwayne Wade ended 7/9 from the field including 2 three pointers and played only 24 minutes. The reserves got a lot of PT on this halloween night and responded. Mike Miller dropped in 18 points in 21 minutes. James Jones racked up 15 points. Eddie House dished out 8 dimes, Mario Chalmers continues to rise with 9 points and 10 assists. Rookie 7'6' center Mo Timmerman looks like an early rookie of the year canidate as he pulled down 8 boards and dropped in 7 points. Chris Bosh dropped in 20, Lebron had 26. even Juwan Howard got into the mix with 4 boards and 4 points. Joel Anthony (still the Heats starter for now) hauled in 7 boards.

Lebron owned Paul Pierce off the dribble most of the night driving for 4 dunks. Pierce showed his age and looked a step slow as Lebron seemed to drive by the All Star at will. Wade mostly scored from the outside as Ray Allen played him very tight in the paint whenever he tried to drive.

As a team the Heat had 30 assists. They led the league in this category last season (along with rebounds believe it or not). The final score was The Heat 116 Boston 93.

A big big win to get the Heat even at 2-2 heading into a big home stand in the month of February.

In other Heat news the team signed SF Michael Pietrus to a portion of the mid-level exception on a 1 year contract. Michael brings some more length and some outside shooting and gives the Heat even more versatilaty and depth and the ability to play matchups against longer front lines when Lebron plays point and Miller is at the 2 while Wade rests. Michael's debut was against his former team 2 days ago (the Magic) and he actually scored 12 points in his Heat debut. Last night against the Celtics he did not enter the game till midway through the 4th quarter and did not score.

So since that awesome thrashing of the aging Celtics the Heat have gone 3-3 and sit at 5-5. It seems very similar to my start in the my first season (10-8) before they really started firing on all cylinders. I have lost 3 in a row to Oklahoma City, New York (again damm it) and last night we dropped a game to the Sixers. All these losses were at home!

All three losses were tight games and all three losses we ended up losing by 8 points. Amazing.

I am just in a bad funk here and one common theme in all three of these losses is I am getting my *** handed to me on the boards. We are struggling in the middle as Timmerman is showing just how raw he is, Anthony is hot and cold and Howard is just really old. Tyson Chandler has finally returned from a foot injury suffered in the pre-season and got his first playing time in the loss to Philly.

The Heat are looking to right the ship and get things rolling again in their defense of the NBA title. We are only 10 games into the season and I have been through some stretches like this before.

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

57-1 now in season two with my Miami Heat, and again I'm playing all of the games and have now played 175 games in total, which includes All-Star Weekend, regular season, and playoff games. It has taken a lot of time, lol.

Anyways, I almost lost the last 6 games, but I ended up pulling out wins in each of them as my late-game execution is fantastic. Entering All-Star weekend now and hoping to close out the season well and push for another NBA championship.

In other news in my association, I facilitated a trade which sent Chris Paul to the New York Knicks as the Hornets had the very worst record in the league and with Chris Paul's expiring deal at the end of the season, and him saying in his contract status he was going to test the free-agent market, I thought it would be best for both teams. I ended up having to do separate trades as not enough players and/or picks could fit into one trade, but here's the trades summed up.

            Knicks get:

            Chris Paul
Emeka Okafor (3 year, $42 million deal, saves Hornets boatloads of money)
Alonzo Gee (5 year, $45 million deal, again they save a lot of money)
Eric Bledsoe (in exchange for an unhappy Toney Douglas

            Hornets get:

Raymond Felton (young-ish, upper-tier point guard)
Danillo Gallinari (good young prospect with tons of trade value)
Anthony Randolph (good young prospect with tons of trade value as well)
            Antonio McDyess (expiring deal)
2012 first-round pick (via San Antonio, who is under .500 and out of the playoff race in the West for now)
2013 first-round pick (via San Antonio)

            Spurs get:

Trevor Ariza (they needed a small forward after they trade Richard Jefferson, saved New Orleans a lot of money too)
Bill Walker (young, decent shooting guard, they needed another shooting guard)

            Wizards get:

            Toney Douglas
Leslie McCormick (18th pick in the 2011 NBA Draft)

It's about the fairest deal I could come up with for all teams involved. I'm not going to move Carmelo to the Knicks because the Nuggets have the best record in the Western Conference and the second-best record in the entire league, next to my team, the Miami Heat. Should be interesting to see how the Knicks do with this team, they were at the sixth seed before I did this trade for them. I think I could see a rivalry forming between the Knicks and my Heat soon, especially if they're able to add Dwight Howard this off-season.

Will update when All-Star weekend is over, which will probably be tomorrow.

Also, I just checked my player's salaries. Why did Love and Durant get skyrocketed deals? They both are on 1 year contracts for 12 million. That wasnt their salary when they were drafted, so what happened?
Whenever you do a fantasy draft everyone's salary changes. This is something that 2K should fix next year. I've seen guys with a 1yr deal IRL have a 6 year deal after fantasy draft.

Just getting going with the second season of my Magic Dynasty and in the first two games I've had three guys go down with lower back injuries! Redick, Nelson, and Singler all out.

One unexpected thing I've found out is how easy DeRozan is to use in the game. He draws tons of fouls and has a really easy shooting motion plus his high dunking ability and speed has created a lot of dunks in transition. He can't knock down the three yet but I'm going to spend some 'reward points' on that in the off-season.

It wasn't intentional but I have a very dunk happy lineup with Derozan, Ibaka and Howard. Now if I could just get my three point shooters healthy, all would be good.

HAve been away from 2k11 for a while, but I'm planning to start up an association, fantasy-draft style, with all the classic teams thrown in for the worse/unpopular teams. Not sure what team I'm gonna take yet, but will post roster later.

Hey all, want to see what you guys think of the Big Three I built for my Knicks.
Didn't want to make anything overpowered, and tried pretty hard to maintain the balance in the league pre-trades, but also wanted something that could really contend.
                      Anyway, here it is:

                      PG: Tony Douglas (72) / George Hill (71) / Jason Williams (67)
                      SG: *Gabriel Yu-Law (95) / Xavier Henry (63)
                      SF: Carmelo Anthony (87) / Kelenna Azubuike (70) [6th man @ SG&SF] / James Jones (64)
                      PF: Amar'e Stoudemire (87) / Anthony Randolf (71) [6th man @ PF&C] / *Sean Williams (64)
                      C: Marcin Gortat (74) / Cole Aldrich (64) / Timofey Mozgov (63)

*Gabriel is a CAP I inserted, a 95 rated SG that plays like MJ/KB.
*Williams, if you're not familiar, is a FA PF that has a B rating in post defense and rebounds. He's been a fantastic pick-up for me.

To give some perspective, my Knicks are 62-20, second to the Boston Celtics who have 65-17, after simming some and playing some during the season. My offense runs through my "Big Three," with Douglas and Hill as role players in the PG to play tenacious defense and shooting the long ball, and Gortat and Randolf to bang down low on defense and for rebounds. I also have Aldrich, Mozgov, and Williams as reserves in case of injuries or foul trouble to serve the same role as tough big-men.

My team's defense admittedly isn't the best in the world, and I can't hire a replacement assistant coach because the Knicks are above budget for the season... So I have to get by on an unstoppable offense, and it's done the job so far.

[edit] NB: I use one of Rashidi's more recent rosters and Purist's sliders.

I just started a Clippers chise a few days ago. Am currently 5-8 (played every game), but have won 3 out 4 and the team is looking better. I have not made any moves yet and have kept the team the way it is. Maybe will make some moves closer to the deadline.

I am not near by 360 right now but here is the roster with a rough estimate of their stats

                        Starters:
                        B. Davis 10 ppg 6 apg (shooting like 30%) Might look to move him and his big contract
                        E. Gordon 18 ppg
                        R. Gomes 13.9 ppg
                        B. Griffin 17 ppg 10 rpg
                        C. Kaman 14 ppg 6 rpg

                        Bench
                        Aminu 5 ppg
                        Foye 8 ppg
                        Bledsoe 6 pp
                        Jordan 5 ppg
                        Smith 2 ppg

*Note- All teams have the exact amount of minutes for each players in real life. The players who started off injured at the begining of the year are on the reserve list. They will be intergrated back in rotation after they are fully recorved (the date they returned in real life).

Started my association today. I wanted a challege, so I decided to roll with the Indiana Pacers and rebuild them. I just couldn't get in a rythem with the team, so went ahead and some moves. My goal was to get cap room felxablilty and recieve young players with potential, as well as future draft assets. I wanted to stay competetive while in the rebuilding process, which seems easy seeing I'm in the east. I also wanted to open up minutes for Paul George... love the dudes skill set.

                          First move:

                          Nets Recieve-
                          Danny Granger
                          Dahntay Jones
                          Solomon Jones

                          Pacers Recieve-
Nets 2011 1st round draft pick
                          Travis Outlaw
                          Sasha Vujacic

                          Second Move:

                          Knicks Recieve-
                          Roy Hibbert
                          T.J. Ford
                          James Posey

                          Pacers Recieve-
Knicks 2011 1st round draft pick
                          Toney Douglas
                          Roney Turiaf
                          Eddy Curry

                          Third Move:

                          Warriors Recieve-
                          Tyler Hansborough
                          Mike Dunleavy
                          A.J. Price

                          Pacers Recieve-
Warriors 2011 2nd round draft pick
                          Reggie Williams
                          Brandan Wright
                          Dan Gadzuric

Ahhhhhhhh... so after all that my Pacers rotation looks like this:

                          PG- D. Collison/T. Douglas
                          SG- B. Rush/R. Williams
                          SF- T. Outlaw/P. George (6th Man)
                          PF- J. McRoberts/B. Wright
                          C- R. Turaif

Bench Warmers- S. Vujacic, D. Gadzuric
                          Prospect(s)- L. Stephenson

                          I.R.- J. Foster, E. Curry

Probably going to struggle, but hey, we will get better. Overall I like the team. Have multiple 1st round draft picks, can run a good fast break, young (2 players over 30), good PG defensive combo, have 7 expiring contracts (potentially 8), and a high potential player in Paul George.

                          Wish me luck!

I played my first game in days and my goodness I love icon passing. I get so many easy dunks now, it's great.

I played in Miami and beat the Heat but 7 points. Yao had another great game; 25+ pts, 15 boards, 3 blocks. He's been incredible.

I am now 7-10. I decided Houston winning in Miami is a bit unlikely, so I upped the difficulty to All Star Simulation. No matter how difficult it gets, I went to get through my last 12 games on it.
