Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

End year as the pacers after just making the 8th seed the last day of the season and getting swept by the celtics
Some how from the 11 spot I get the #2 pick in the draft

Drafted H.barnes but trade I'm to pistons for J.sillinger

Building my team on Defence and big men
So far in the End season I'm 16-7
And my role players are playing great!
My highest rated player is at 80

    D.collison PG 80
    B***sh. SG 69
    M.Barnes. SF 69
    J.SUllingerPF 76
    R.Hibbert. C. 78
    M.Pietrus 6TH man SG,SF 66
    C.Anderson(bridman) C 63
G.Dragic PG 69 great scorer of bench
K.Adams PF 61(best pick up ever!)
    T.Leslie SG 56
J.Posey SF 66 (currently injured..looks to be out until march)

K.Adams is the best pick up I had for this team after hibber when down in season one
I picked adams up from the D league and wow he is a scoring machine! Even with 12-15 mins a game he can score 15 or so points I haven't seen a PF/C with shooting like him
Great at 3's and mid range he can play the 3,4,5. EXplosive offence if I picked him up ealier maybe he would of been rook of the year
N the last 16 games of season 1 he had a avg of 17.6 ppg and 7.8 RPG amazing player go pick him up!

This whole process has freed up $17m in cap space next year.

Can anyone tell me how rookies count against the salary cap?

its obvious my defense is garbage but for whatever reason i cant score unless I drive and hope someone fouls me i want to trade for a good offensive center but i know I dont have the pieces unless I want to say goodbye to Curry

        my lineup

        PG Stephen Curry
        SG Jason Richardson
        SF Thad Young
PF Josh Smith(got hurt game 1 out for 3 weeks) traded for Brandon Bass for Dunleavy and Niocioni

        Key Bench Guys

        SG Morrow
        SG Weems
        PG TJ Ford
        C Jordan
after starting 0-16 I had to clean house and so far im 2-0 with the lineup of

        PG Steph Curry
        SG Nick Young
        SF Gerald Wallace
        PF Carlos Boozer
        C Tyson Chandler

Wiz traded me Boozer straight up for Josh Smith

No matter what ur payroll looks like, you can add a draft pick's salary. There's a rookie pay scale that goes like this:
#1 pick aprox $5.5 mil, #2-14 seem to get between $2-4.5 mil and then the rest of the 1st round picks are just over $1 mil I believe (lotery get 2yr gurntee + 2yr team option, I think 14-30 get wyr gurntee + 2yr

I was playing the raptors. Had a 17 point lead entering the 4th quater so I start of restong my star players in collison sullingr and hibber. So my team can't seem to score. So I put my startes back in I I still can't score. My D allow over 30 points that quater ended up losing by 2 points 90-88 :l that 4th quater I got outscore 39-20

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

Started up with the Knicks. Simmed the first year. Ended up getting 3 draft picks I traded away Ramon Felton, Galinari and Walker. Somehow ended up getting 3 1st round picks. I drafted Irving at 8 (72 overall), Marcus Morris (70 overall) and Fabricio Melo (66 overall). In free agency I got Melo. Signed him to a 5 year max deal. Signed Vince Carter to a 1 year deal at 5 mil, and resigned Zubuike. Here is my lineup to start the 2011 campaign:

              Douglas / Irving
              Fields / Carter
              Melo / Azubuike
              Randolph / Morris
              Stat / Turiaf / Mozgov / Melo

This team should be a fun team to play with. I'm 9th overall. 1st in offense, 19th in defense.

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

So I started my association with my Cavs. Im in year 1 and havent made any trades or free agent signing. First game of season against the Celtics we spread the ball around. everyone that played in the game for the cavs scored and mo, Jamison, and parker all scored 20+ points in a 109-91 win for the cavs. The game was alot closer then the score makes it seem.

Then i beat the raptors, kings and hawks to start out 4-0. After that 4-0 start we went 1-3 against the 76ers, wizards, and nets. Losing to the nets twice. During that 1-3 stretch we lost Gibson and my 6th man JJ Hickson to injuries. JJ dislocated his should and will be back in 2-3 weeks but Gibson broke his hand and will be out 4-6 weeks.

Since gibson injury i had to move sessions to my 6th man. we are 3-0 since session became my 6th man. So now i am 8-3 and have to go up against the spurs next. I did have an easy schedual to start the season out. only two games so far were against teams with a winning record last year.

                Next 7 games
                @SA (6-5)
                @Ind (4-6)
                Mil (8-4)
                @Orl (12-0)
                Mem (6-7)
                Bos (8-4)
Mia (9-3) Game i am waiting for

All the records on my next opponents is there current record

Just started my first Association Mode since 2K5. Rolling with the 76ers. Opened the season with a 21 point win over the Heat. I think I may need to do some slider tweaks but it was one heck of a fun game.

I made Evan Turner the 'Star' of the team before the season. I think I will be trying to trade Iguodala just because I would like to have a better center than Hawes and Iggy just isn't going to get the touches he deserves.

I did the exact same thing. I'm in year 2 of my Cavs Association and loving it. Got knocked out the Playoffs in the first round last season by the Celtics, which is ok as I didn't want to go to far considering the quality of my team. My boy T-Mac (traded for him early in Season 1), despite being "Ecstatic" with my organisation decided to test free agency and I lost him to the Nets (which is a shame, I've always been a fan of him). I made some big moves in the off-season. Managed to trade Jamison for the 8th pick in the draft to get Sullinger and I also traded some pieces and future picks to get Turner from Philly. My plans of a Buckeye/Cavs team is coming together nicely. Turner is a beast, he does everything well for me on this game. So happy I managed to get him.

Perhaps the best thing I did during the off-season was picking up Kendrick Perkins. He was pissed off with Boston and decided to test the market. My 3 year offer was too good for him and he's now my new centre. Varejao is back to bringing energy off the bench, which I prefer (like the good old days...).

                      [43-39 TOR year 1/All-Star/82gm/10min]

Well the 10-11 season is a wrap! couldn't get that #6 seed so i finished 1 game back of NYK at #7, faced Boston and lost 4-2 [the 4 losses weren't even close]. BOS went on to win the title against DEN 4-0.

I have decisions to make with my team. Bargs pissed me off with 6 injuries this year and terrible D. Need a defensive minded backup C, PF, and SF. Derozan needs to move to SG and that means Barbosa will have to go, Odom [as much as i love Lamar] and W.Bynum [don't like Bynum] are likely on the move as well. Thinkin' about trading these guys to get a #7-15 pick b/c i have my eye on a defensive minded center i've scouted all season and is slated to go mid-1st [auto-generated draft class]. I plan on handling the offseason today so stay tuned...

                      PG Bayless | ____
                      SG Derozan | Weems | ____

I would try to get a C in free agency or via trade and move Bargnani to PF. If you kept Odom you could run a big lineup with Lamar at the 3. I like Randolph off the bench. If you got enough Training Camp points I would send Randolph to Combo Guard(make him more like Odom), Bargnani to Big Man Defense and Derozan to Perimeter Shooting or Combo Guard. Those training camps help alot when developing players.
Maybe you could package Amir and Barbosa for a solid C like Kaman or Gortat.

I have about $10mil of cap room and hoping to free up $7-10 more after trading Barbosa. I've got enough reward points to send 2-3 guys to training camp. Thanks for the suggestions! I'm exploring everything.

doing really great in my second year of my franchise, I am playing with the raptors and my leading scorer is O.J. Mayo. We are 17-10 so far. My line up is

                            PG: J. Calderon/ K. Walker
                            SG: O.J Mayo/ G. Temple/ W. Buford SF: W. Chandler (Been injured for 4-5 weeks now)/ C. Singleton

                            C: A. Bargnani/ K. Perkins/ D. Jordan (He sucks so far)

So far we dont do that good against the elite teams n i cant seem to figure out why. You guys have any suggestions about my team or any questions? Would love to hear some

I'm guessing you gave up Bayless and Derozan for Mayo? Bayless shot up to a 72 rating after year 1 and Derozan up to 71 and their outside shooting improved about 5 points. Calderon doesn't really progress anymore, just saying. Hey you got a defensive center to take over when Bargs is getting pounded lol. Jordan's inconsistent right now but has great potential.

Just started my second season with the Cavs. Completely rebuilt the team with trades and free agents during and after the season. Finished year 32-50.

                                PG: Eric Bledsoe/Louis Williams/Jimmer Fredette/D-Leaguer
                                SG: Aaron Afflalo/J.J Redick/Daniel Gibson/Manny Harris

                                C: Marcus Camby/DeAndre Jordan

Beat the Knicks 109-78 with everyone other than Redick getting 6 points.
