Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

Simmed the final 10 games and got to the Playoffs last night. Finished 2nd seed in the West with a 49-33 record. LA was the only team in the West to finish over 50 wins.

    Top 6 Teams

    Miami 56-26
    Atlanta 52-30
    LA Lakers 50-32
    Chicago 50-32
    Minnesota 49-33
    San Antonio 49-33
    --------
    #2 Minnesota Timberwolves (49-33)

    Ricky Rubio/Jonny Flynn
    Wesley Johnson/Shannon Brown/Wayne Ellington
    Grant Hill/Martell Webster
    Kevin Love/Anthony Randolph/Boris Diaw
    Anthony Toliver/Darko Milicic

    vs

    #7 Dallas Mavericks (44-38)

    Steve Nash/Jason Kidd/JJ Barea
    Roddy Buckets/LeAndro Barbosa
    Tayshaun Prince/Corey Brewer
    Dirk Nowitzki/Chris Wilcox
    Tyson Chandler/Brendan Haywood/Ian Mahinmi

    Series at 2-1 Dallas

    Game 1: 68-82 Dallas (simmed)
    Game 2: 94-73 Minnesota
    Game 3: 84-123 Dallas (simmed)

Decided in any series that I'm the higher seed, I'll choose 4 out of the 7 to play. If I'm the lower seed, I'll only play 3. About to start Game 4 @ Dallas. Then will likely sim Game 5 in Minny and play Game 6 in Dallas.

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

I'm now in the 5th year of my Pacers association, and my plans are finally coming together and my team is blossoming into a powerhouse. The Pacers were an excellent franchise to start an association with, they have great young building blocks in Collison, Paul George, and Hibbert. Hansborough too, I guess, if you don't think he's a gigantic feminine cleaning product like I do.

That being said, the first thing I did, before the first season even started was trade Hansborough away. I moved a couple picks around with him and ended up with JJ Hickson. My starting 5 the first year were Collison, George, Granger, Hickson, and Hibbert. Too young to make the playoffs. Ended up with the 4th pick in the draft, added Brandon Knight to the squad. 2nd year did a little better, barely made the playoffs and got destroyed by the Bulls in the first round. Didn't move around much in the draft, got a 7'1 center to rotate with Hibbert and Hickson. Third year my team finally started to do well, ended up with the 3rd seed, lost to the Heat in the conference finals. I traded up in the draft, dealt Hickson away, picked up an extremely athletic 6'11 PF, Derrick Snow. Fourth year the team really evolved into a top-tier squad. Got the #1 seed, lost in the champ game to the Thunder.

Now, it's the 5th year. I dealt Collison, Granger and some picks to move up to #2 overall and took a 6'9 shooting SF to replace him. This kid is going to be a stud. (His potential is A+).

      My lineup is now;
Brandon Knight 86 ovr A+ pot
      Paul George 93 ovr
Jamal Tate (rook) 79 ovr A+ pot
Derrick Snow (second year) 82 ovr A pot
      Roy Hibbert 87 ovr.

I'm really excited about this year, I really feel like this team is ready to come into their own. Granger was a rock solid anchor, but he was limited. Collison was nasty (91) when I dealt him, but he was tiny and I honestly think Knight is going to end up being better. Hickson was just a bookmark, holding a place until I drafted his replacement. Now, unexpectedly, Paul George has developed into an all-star player. One more year and this team is going to be unstoppable, and if I can keep these 5 (which I doubt, bc it's going to get really expensive really fast) for 3 more years, it seems likely that I'll have a 5 man starting roster ALL in the 90s. Ridiculous.

Despite the size of my big men, I play speedball with this team, calling quick roll screens, or just slash and pop it back out until someone comes open. Knight, George, and Tate can all hit shots from anywhere on the court, and Hibbert is a decent shooter <=17 feet, so I can slash and pop all day long, and score 125 ppg on 12 min q. It's a LOT of fun, I'm extremely enjoying this association.
A gentleman is a man who knows how to play the accordion, but doesn't.

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

And my season has come to an end.

I played/lost Game 4 to Dallas 105-100. Down 3-1 in the series and my rule of playing a maximum of 4 games/series, I decided to sim Game 5 in Minnesota. I figured I'd have a better chance of simming and winning that game, then I could attempt to close out in Games 6 and 7. But Dirk/Roddy B ended any hopes of that. #2 Minnesota goes down 4-1 and out in the 1st Round.

in the WC semi-finals, LA squeaked by NO in 7 games, while San Antonio swept Dallas. In the East, Miami beat Boston in 7, while Chicago KO'd New York 4-1.

Here's where things get interesting. The Lakers and Spurs get to game 7. Bynum tears his meniscus 7 minutes into the game, but the Lakers pull out a 103-95 win to advance. Miami/Chicago also go to Game 7, which the Heat win 110-106 behind LeBron's 32pts/8rebs/6asts/3stls/2blks.

Miami finally gets it's shot at Los Angeles in the playoffs. LA is going for the 4 peat with Bynum out of the picture. The series goes to Game 7 in Miami, which the Heat take 116-112 to win LeBron his first championship/Finals MVP.

Onto the off-season....Grant Hill retired. Other notables retirees: Jason Kidd, Jason Terry, Derek Fisher, Big Z, Ben Wallace

Need some advice for my ever so loved Heat team. I'm in my second year and didn't do so great in the playoffs. So I made a few trades and what not and this is what I have came up with. Btw I use HOF Redlogic sliders and KG's roster, and play very realistically.

                Starting Lineup-
                PG: Jacob Pullen(64)
                SG: Dwayne Wade(97)
                SF: LeBron James(97)
                PF: Al-Farouq Aminu(75)
                C: Zach Randolph(82)

                Backups:
                PG: Sundiata Gaines(66) / Raja Bell(68) / Dwayne Wade(if needed)
                SG: Raja Bell(68) / Eddie House(65) / James Jones (60)
                SF: Kyle Singler(66) / James Jones(60) / Al-Farouq Aminu(if needed)
                PF: Udonis Haslem(69)
                C: Joel Anthony(65)

I once had Conley, Mcgee, and Ibaka but that combination just wasn't working out. The defense was great but it was hard to get a lot of scoring, especially in the paint. So i acquired Aminu and Randolph.

Any comments/ratings on this roster. Any suggestions?
Thanks. Message me if necessary.. there are a lot of posts on here.

Um how the hell did you manage to get enough assets to convince the Heat to trade LeBron back to the Cavs?

I'm not knocking it as it's your game and you play it how you want but that's gotta be trade override doesn't it?

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

just had a great game using Nogsters super league roster set in my season. it was me (09 Cavs) vs the Jordan led 03 Wizards

had a classic game vs the 03 Wizards and Jordan was better than what I expected to be. They had him starting at SF and Stackhouse at SG. I ended up winning by 72-69. It was a crazy finish. I was up 70-69 with lessthan 10 ticks left. They iso'd MJ on the left block and he missed the fadaway. Jamison got the rebound with like 2 seconds, I chucked it and was fouled and they counted it as a shooting foul. So I'm up 70-69. I make the 1st 2 to go up 72-69 and missed the first one. They get it with 1.8 left at half court. They run a perfect play for MJ and get him open in the corner and thank god he missed it and I ended up with the win

It was awesome. James and Jordan were going at it the entire game. James was basically my offense. I think he had like 28 points. Shaq had 10. Jordan and Stackhouse each had like 25 for them. Jordan had some sick plays as did James. I remember one play Jordan was iso'd on Delonte West at the foul line, did a couple hesitation moves and made West look silly for a easy layup. Stackhouse just abused Parker all game he had like 28 points. Fun fun game.

I'm in the Eastern Conference Finals against Boston (they're the 1 and I'm the 2 [actually should be 4th, but whatev]) after beating the 7)Indiana Pacers in a one-sided series

ROUND 1 [7] INDIANA PACERS @ [2] NEW YORK KNICKS - Melo and his broken hand (broke a few weeks before the playoffs) played more of a facilitator role, moving the ball around and not taking too many shots. Toney Douglas started shooting lights out in the 3rd game at the Conseco Fieldhouse and ever since then has been my leading scorer. I've been nailing so many 3's with this guy, it blows my mind. I trained Amare's defense and rebounding all season so he's become a very dominant interior defensive presence and really demonstrated that during this Indiana series. Chauncey Billups was up and down. Some nights I was getting 18 and 9 with him and then others getting 8 and 5. SERIES ENDS 4-0 NYK

Round 2 [6] MILWAUKEE BUCKS @ [2] NEW YORK KNICKS - Amare, Melo, and Toney Douglas go ham in this series against the Bucks. Bogut and Mbah a Moute were wrecking us in the paint in the defensive end, but we were shooting great from the perimeter, which is pretty hilarious since we lost our first game at home by 3. Toney Douglas averaged 22 pts and was killing the Bucks from the 3 pt line and we beat them by an average of 15 pts. SERIES ENDS 4-1 NYK

EASTERN CONFERENCE FINALS [2] NEW YORK KNICKS @ [1] BOSTON CELTICS - Just played Game 1, and if it's any indication, this series is going to be a doozy. I lost the first game 93-96. I was down by as much as 15 and somehow brought the game back to a two point game early in the 4th, but we couldn't tie the game. Ray Allen destroyed us from everywhere and Rondo was hitting jumpers like there was no tomorrow. Amare had a so so game, since Garnett basically plays some of the best defense in the league. Billups was pretty useless, Douglas had a bad shooting night despite having 21 pts, Fields was pretty good since he hit like 3 three's at the end, and Melo was amazing in the second half after a bad first half. He ended with 27 pts and 8 assists.
                          SERIES 1-0 BOS

My 16 game (home game vs. the Timberwolves) I finally got an MVP other than Curry! Ray Allen won MVP honors scoring 40 to help with a 4th quarter comback against Minny. I thought this game would be a breeze but they kept scoring right with me and then when I hit the 3rd quarter slump they blew right past me! Finally got it going in the 4th to pull out yet another win!

Still looking for Durant's first MVP honors. Going to make an effort for this in my up coming games.

about to start year 2 of my hawks chise. heres my lineup...

                              PG-Jeff Teague 78 / Kirk Hinrich 71
                              SG-Joe Johnson 90 / Jamal Crawford 75
                              SF-Josh Smith 88/ Marvin Williams 70 / Damian Wilkins 60
                              PF-Al Horford 85 / Kenyon Martin 74
                              C-DeAndre Jordan 65 / Zaza Pachulia 68 / Josh Harrellson 60

got Harrellson in the 2nd round. was debating trading a true center like Bogut instead of signing Jordan. If Jordan and Zaza both struggle the 1st half of the season, i'll trade for Bogut.

I simmed the first season of my Grizzlies association.

                                My line:

                                PG: Conley(75) / J.J. Barea(70) / Vasques(65)
                                SG: Mayo(72) / Allen(71)
                                SF: Gay(83) / Battier(76) / Young(70)
                                PF: Randolph(81) / Arthur(71) / Thompkins(68)
                                C: Baby Gasol(76) / Haddadi(68)

I have Conley, Gay, Randolph, and Gasol as starters, and Mayo and Battier as "6th man". Allen plays about 15 mins a game when I need someone for defense. Besides that, everyone other non-start plays around 10-6 mins a game.
Conley went down for 9 games, so I signed Barea for a one-year deal from FA.

So far, I'm 13-7. Just beat the Spurs, who are #1 in the conference, by one point at home.
