Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

In year 2 of my franchise (control all 30), played as the Hawks first season and finished as the 6th seed and ended up losing in 7 to the Knicks. The Knicks managed to get all the way to the finals and took the Lakers to a game 7 but ended up losing badly in the title decider which ensured a three-peat for Phil Jackson and Kobe.

In the draft, the Hornets acquired the #1 pick after suffering a horrid season (21-61). They picked Derrick Williams and traded David West to the Nuggets to make way for the incoming rookie.

In year 2 I will be taking over the Portland Trail Blazers and here is the current depth chart

    PG - Miller/Mills/McCamey(R)
    SG - Roy/Matthews/Azubuike
    SF - Wallace/Batum/Babbitt
    PF - Aldridge/Saunders(R)
    C - McGee/Camby/Foster/Curry

Got some major injuries at the moment. Batum suffered a torn MCL (10-12 months) and I have McGee and Camby currently injured so my depth at the C position is being tested. Also as you may have noticed I have Javale McGee in the side and no Oden, I can't remember the specifics of the trade but here is the Wizards team

    PG - Wall/Telfair/Shakur
    SG - Young/ShannonBrown/Crawford
    SF - Igoudala/Artest
    PF - Brand/Booker/Seraphin
    C - Oden/N'Diaye

I can see a playoff appearance for that side this season if the core of Iggy/Oden/Wall can stay healthy.

Sorry for the vague overview, I'm not at my xbox at the moment but I wanted share my game!

I am 5 games into my first season as the Nuggets. I am playing on Pro, with stock settings and sliders. I am 5-0, so I might switch to All-Star because I am winning all my games by at least 20 points. Here is my roster, feel free to help me improve or make any suggestions:

PG: T. Lawson / Jrue Holiday
      SG: G. Arenas /A. Afflalo / C. Bell
      SF: W. Chandler /G. Forbes /James Jones
PF: Josh Smith / U. Haslem
      C: Nene / C. Andersen / K. Koufos

Since you're going into your 3rd year then yeah make a move to better your chances. Definitely trade Teague for a decent 2 guard

Haha the Melo/Amare combo was too much for my Hawks in the first round! They did make a move, can't remember the exact trade (it did involve Fields going to PHX for Dudley) but I will try remember the current line-up

          PG - Billups/Douglas/Selby(R)
          SG - Dudley/Walker
          SF - Melo/Dudley/Balkman
          PF - STAT/ShawneWill
          C - Turiaf/SheldenWill/Hunter

C still is a problem for you guys, I was looking at Anderson Varejao and see how I could move him to NY, might have to make that happen next time on!

We gave up Fields for Dudley -_- Dudley isn't bad but Fields is my boy. But I did give Fields up in a trade involving CP3 tho, I'm being a hypocrite as we speak haha.

Haha, it did involve a couple of nice picks going your way if I remember. Played my opening game with the Blazers aswell earlier winning 111-88 at home vs Suns. Managed to get Roy and Wallace going early and they both finished on 24 points each. Aldridge finished with 17-11 double-double too. Nice start!

My Kings finally broke .500, going 4-4 after a big win against the Rockets (after losing by 19 last game, I beat them by 19 this game. Yao unfortunately got injured, however that put me in a position to win.)

I don't think I'll be trading anymore, not for a while. Here's my official starting roster.

                PG: Jameer Nelson
                SG: James Harden
                SF: Tyreke Evans
                PF: Jason Thompson
                C: DeMarcus Cousins

                  10-11 Champion, Houston Rockets!

Swept the Heat 4-0....Yao won Finals MVP. I even played We Are The Champions after winning, lol...

Now, I'm in the off-season. Yao got a 4 year deal, re-upped with Thabeet. Also brought back Adelman as coach. Now I'm heading toward the draft and want to trade Scola, but not sure who to go after.

I got about 4-5 guys who might get traded/released before the season starts.

Any clue on any good backup PFs? I thought about Anthony Randolph from Minny...

I always dread playing against you guys (Sacramento Kings). DeMarcus Cousins is by far not tall enough to guard Yao, and he always snags a lot of points on me. Plus he shuts down my inside scoring, so I go to medium shooting (which is my specialty anyway) and three pointers. I lost bad to them in my first game, then after Yao's injury smacked them back in the second game we played.

But yes, get rid of Scola. Maybe you know how to play as him, but he flopped both games against my Kings.

                    From my Association

Just lost a hard game against the Lakers. Kings actually out-played them, holding Kobe to a terrible field goal percentage. Yet they still won. Drama from Tyreke Evans after the game in my Association's Dynasty on my profile.

Re: 2011 NBA Playoffs (L.A. Clippers)

At the All Star Break my Kings are 23-30. I made my first trade a few games before the ASB. Lamar Odom was tired of coming off the bench and was very unhappy in LA. I went after him because I have been wanting to upgrade at SF and PF and he just happens to fit in both.

                      Kings Recieve:
                      Lamar Odom (71 w/LA) (78 w/Sac)
                      Trey Johnson (58)
                      2011 1st rd pick

                      Lakers Recieve:
                      Marcus Thornton
                      Jason Thompson

I think this trade makes sense for both teams. Thornton was saying all year he would be leaving for FA after the season and Evans is the SG of the future anyway. Thompson is a great player but just not quite good enough to be a starter. For the Lakers, Thornton is a great backup to come in and score right away off the bench, giving Kobe more rest so he will be fresh for the playoffs. He also has the potential to take over the starting spot when Kobe retires if he decides to stay in LA. They also get a good PF in Thompson who would be more willing to come off the bench for Pau.

                      My old rotation:

                      Evans/Udrih
                      Thornton/Evans/Greene
                      Garcia/Casspi/Greene
                      Thompson/Cousins
                      Cousins/Dalembert

                      My new rotation:

                      Udrih/Evans
                      Evans/Greene
                      Garcia/Casspi/Greene
                      Odom/Cousins
                      Cousins/Dalembert

My offseason plan as of now is to draft the best point guard available with my 1st pick, take the best player available with the lakers 1st pick, and sign a starting small foward in free agency.

Just finished up my first regular season. Quick rap up, Lamarcus Aldridge dominated in the All-Star game coming off the bench with 16 points and 12 boards. I was the East I lost by 12 points. Amare didn't make it because he got injured like 2 weeks before the game, but he was healthy enough to play when the time came and they didn't let him play. They didn't let CP3 play i nthe game either. Paul only has played 62 games for me due to injury, he definitely should of made over John Wall who numbers was lower then CP3. Wall made the All-Star game as a rookie also, that's slight unrealistic.

Heat ended up with the number 1 record. LeBron won MVP. 2K seriously needs to something about this he wins it literally every year it's annoying. STAT and Melo were 3rd and 4th in MVP standings tho Spolestra won Coach of the year. Arenas won 6th man of the year, Tyrus Thomas won defensive player of the year. Derrick Williams won ROY. Most improved was Ty Lawson and 6th man of the year was Lou Williams.

Shaq is still bitching about playing time and says he's outta NY after the season. Dude seriously wants me to play him 30+ minutes, I have to Centers to develop in Mozgov and Jeremy Tyler(R). Oh yeah I lost my previous data. Long story short, I had my regular association saved and a backup file saved a few games behind incase anything. So I resigned to the Nets to edit their minutes and forgot to switch back to the Knicks before I turned off the game, so it would freeze everytime I would try to resign back to the Knicks. So I had to countinue off the backup file that was a few games behind, so basically the Iverson trade never happened.

So now fast forward to the Playoffs, when I went to go check who my 1st round opponent was gonna be, I seen it was the Bucks and litterally started laughing out loud. Then I checked the team stats and seen they have the lowest scoring offense in the league, so it should be easy. But here's the catch we have the worst defense in the league giving up the most points to opponents. This series is gonna come down to Brandon Jennings and which team rebounds better. Young Money leads Milwaukee in basically everything so if I shut him down the series is over. They also have Wesley Mathews I believe, I checked his defense ratings he's a lockdown defender so Melo will have his hands full. So if we could stop BJ and win the rebounding matchup this series is ours. Only thing is where also the worst rebounding team in the league, this a personal problem with me tho I'm terrible at securing rebounds.

I'm excited this is my first Playoff series since I purchased the game and I plan on playing every single matchup. I'm off fellas

Currently I am in the playoffs with the Bucks. I recently switched to custom Superstar sliders and had yet to win a game on them. Here is a quick recap of the season:

22-18 in games I played, 18-22 in simmed games.

2nd in the division, 7th seed in the playoffs.

Game 1 against the Celtics (2 seed) I lose Bogut, and have both JR Smith and Gerald Wallace hurt significantly.

Game 2 I finally win on the new sliders with the best ball distribution I have ever had.

                            Ronnie Brewer - 30 pts
                            Ersan Ilyasova - 21 pts
                            Larry Sanders - 20 pts
                            Drew Gooden - 14 pts
                            Brandon Jennings - 13 pts (28 assists)
Luc Richard Mbah a Moute - 11 pts
                            Gerald Wallace - 11 pts
                            JR Smith - 6 pts

Swept the Heat 4-0....Yao won Finals MVP. I even played We Are The Champions after winning, lol...

Now, I'm in the off-season. Yao got a 4 year deal, re-upped with Thabeet. Also brought back Adelman as coach. Now I'm heading toward the draft and want to trade Scola, but not sure who to go after.

I got about 4-5 guys who might get traded/released before the season starts.

Any clue on any good backup PFs? I thought about Anthony Randolph from Minny...
Dang, Yao+Thabeet= TAALLL frontcourt. I bet you're getting a LOT of rebounds

For a good backup PF, I would recommend Darrell Arthur (Memphis) or Jason Thompson (Sacramento). Both have pretty good mid-range shooting abilities. Jason Thompson has incredible potential. I got him up to an 85 overall in one year. If you nurture Thompson, he will become a VERY dominant PF with a crazy mid-range stroke.

22-18 in games I played, 18-22 in simmed games.

2nd in the division, 7th seed in the playoffs.

Game 1 against the Celtics (2 seed) I lose Bogut, and have both JR Smith and Gerald Wallace hurt significantly.

Game 2 I finally win on the new sliders with the best ball distribution I have ever had.

                                Ronnie Brewer - 30 pts
                                Ersan Ilyasova - 21 pts
                                Larry Sanders - 20 pts
                                Drew Gooden - 14 pts
                                Brandon Jennings - 13 pts (28 assists)
Luc Richard Mbah a Moute - 11 pts
                                Gerald Wallace - 11 pts
                                JR Smith - 6 pts

I just switched to Superstar sliders also.

But I just lost the first game of the series to the Bucks. I was up the whole first half. 3rd half they locked down on defense and made a run. I gave them the benefit of the doubt of winning. The game went down to the wire, I made a stupid move to put a double team on Brandon Jennings for like the last minute or so. Sure as hell the double team came leaving Irsalvao(sp) open down low for a dunk. So I was down by 1, then BJ got a and 1 and made me down by 4. I made a quick shot with CP3, CP3 had 41 points 9 assist dude was hella clutch that game. So it comes to where I have to play the foul game and the damn game won't let me foul AT ALL! I swear to god it was the most ridiculous thing Ive ever seen. Brandon Jennings was just sittin there milking the clock not moving at all, I'm pressing select hard as hell nothing, so I try a reach in still no cigar SMFH. Cheated definitely.
