Los Angeles Lakers (9-5) @ Sacramento Kings (9-8)
    - 86
    - 88

Closest game this season by far. We were winning by 13 I believe at one point. They brought it within 5, tied it with 20 seconds left, and Jameer pump faked Blake to get an open 2 to win the game. Heart-racing after losing the first encounter with the Lakers 80-78.

Read about it in my blog. Interviews with Coach Alex Best, Omri Casspi, and Jason Thompson.

Guys, lay off of the other posters for how they constructed their team. If it's how he wants to play the game, then it's for his enjoyment. You each paid money for the game, play it as you see fit.

Keep up the Associations guys. Good reads.

Continued my Nuggets Association I've reached the All-Star Weekend. Ty Lawson and Nene were named to the All-Star team. Nene averaged 16ppg, 11rpg and 2.2bpg while Lawson averaged 19ppg and 10apg. We are currently 12-8 3rd in the West.

Latest dynasty updates there... I include weekly recap videos, screen caps and sometimes write ups and the odd statistical take.

Anyway here's the most recent recap...

                Wolves top Celtics...

January 3rd, 2011. The Minnesota Timberwolves travelled to Boston to take on the top seed in the East, the Celtics. Going into the night the Wolves sat 25 and 9 while the Celtics were 25 and 6, each leading their respective conferences. Only one team would come out victorious in what some called a potential NBA Finals preview (although I'm sure the Bulls, Heat and Spurs would have something to say about that).

The game started much like a finals contest with both teams amping up the defensive pressure. The Celtics would create 9 steals on the night while adding 7 blocks, the Timberwolves only managed 3 steals, but the return of Deandre Jordan strengthened the inside with the Wolves amassing 11 blocks. Jordan only had the one block himself, but his presence made it easier for Wesley Johnson to come flying out of nowhere on several occasions on his way to a game high three blocks in the contest.

The Wolves turned the ball over 10 times on the evening, to the Celtics four occasions, but many of the Wolves blocks created a change of possession. The defensive pressure led to a low scoring opening term, which saw the visitors in front 19 to 14.

For the Celtics, Ray Allen struggle greatly in the first half only hitting on 1 of 7 field goal attempts. While Rider's production was also limited, as the Wolves looked to Anthony Randolph to carry them on his back. Unfortunately for the Wolves Randolph struggled with foul trouble and had to sit a lot in the first half, but was effective for the time he was on the court.

Fortunately for the Wolves the absence of Love and Jordan in previous weeks had allowed the Wolves to give solid court time to Nikola Pekovic who had seized his opportunities and shown much promise. While Pekovic only scored two points on the night in 16 minutes, he did grab 7 rebounds including two on the offensive glass. Jordan grabbed 9 rebounds on his return and 8 points, but let himself down with poor free throw shooting.

The Wolves broke the game open in the second on the back of contributions from everybody with a 32 to 24 point quarter. From that point the Wolves pretty much cruised until the last four minutes when the Celtics mounted a come back and pulled within four points, but forced to go to the foul line the Timberwolves held their nerve and drilled their free throws. The final score 98 to 91, Timberwolves victorious.

Rider finished with 15 points and 5 assists, while Eric Bledsoe scored 14 points in 18 minutes while also sharing 5 dimes. Randolph had 20 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal, 2 blocks and no turnovers in an excellent all round performance. With Kevin Love due back within the next two to three weeks the Wolves have a plethora of talented young big men at their disposal.

Ray Allen overcame his first half shooting woes to pace the Celtics with 18 while Garnett toiled workmanlike for his 17 and 7 rebounds. Rondo fell one point shy of a double-double with 9 points and 11 assists, but only shot 30% from the field.

The Wolves return home to face the Bobcats on Wednesday, 5th of January.

                Season Record: 26-9.

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

Started with the Bulls. I put the youngest Michael on the team so he can develop with Rose. I started by trading away Boozer and a draft pick, and I was able to pick up Elton Brand and Evan Turner.

Currently 3-1. The loss came against the Wizards when Michael Jordan suffered a seperated shoulder which puts him out 1-2 weeks. He has a possibility of missing 5 games with this injury....(by the way I'm using the 29 game schedule). The Wizards absolutely crushed us (Josh Howard was beasting it).

Another trade I made was I traded away Kurt Thomas and Kyle Korver to the Rockets. I waas able to pick up Hasheem Thabeet and a scrub player. Loving this game, my Bulls are currently holding their own against the Spurs. Hopefully Jordan only misses the 3 games this week and not the 2 next week.

Also, the Salmons on the Buck got injured with a broken arm that puts him out 6-8 weeks. I think I will be playing them while he's still recovering and Jordan will be healthy.

I have not encountered that problem.

So my Bulls team fought hard and defeated the Spurs in OT. Final score: 126-123. Luol Deng really stepped up and helped in this game with 32 points, 8 rebounds, and 6 assists. Derrick Rose had 32 points, 4 rebounds, and 12 assists. They didn't play too bad without Jordan in my opinion. The Spurs scored 65 points in the 2nd half. Ginobili was crazy in that 2nd half and finished the game with 34 points.

I decided to send Evan Turner down to the D-League. I also traded away Hasheem Thabeet in favor of picking up Deandre Jordan.

Lucky for my team, we have 2 easy games coming up: Cleveland and Minnesota. after tahat, we travel to Memphis and head back home to invite Indiana into the United Center.

Here is my starting line up without Michael Jordan:

                        PG: Derrick Rose
                        SG: C.J. Watson
                        SF: Luol Deng
                        PF: Elton Brand
                        C: Joakim Noah
James Naismith visited an Indiana basketball state finals game along with 15,000 screaming fans and later wrote, that while it was invented in Massachusetts, "basketball really had its origin in Indiana, which remains the center of the sport."

The pacers always seem to make some big trades in my associations and become a beast team. They seem to do better trades than other CPU teams, at least from what I have seen.

I've got a few trades that I'm thinking about making... As you can see by my roster, I have some good young talent, but, not many reliable veterans... My SG, and C positions are a bit weak... So check out some trades that I've been mulling over...

                              Trade 1:
                              Cavs trade
                              PG - Jared Bayliss (67)
                              SG - Reggie Bullock (74)
                              C - Anderson Verejao (70)
                              PF - Antwan Jamison (71)
                              1st round pick

                              Hornets trade
                              PG - Chauncey Billups (79)
                              SF - Trevor Ariza (77)
                              C - Emeka Okafor (76)

This deal would give me a great veteran off the bench in Billups. Ariza would probably start at the SG for me. Also, this would improve my C position dramatically. Billups is 36yr old, but, still has a few solid years left as a 6th man imo.

                              Trade 2:
                              Cavs trade
                              SG - Reggie Bullock (74)

                              Bobcats trade
                              SG - Stephen Jackson (77)

This deal would give me a solid scorer and defender at the SG position. Jackson is much older than Bullock, so, Bullock will progress beyond what Jackson is rated right now.

                              Trade 3
                              Cavs trade
                              C - Anders Varejao (70)
                              PF - Antwan Jamison (71)
                              1st round pick

                              Blazers trade
                              C - Greg Oden (72-3)

I think I might be short changing myself with this one. Oden is upset with his role in Portland, I'm not really sure why, but, he is lol. This would improve my C position, but wouldn't give me any backcourt help.

Trade 4 - Might be a little far fetched
                              Cavs trade
                              PF - JJ Hickson (82)
                              C - Anderson Varejao (70)
                              1st round pick

                              Mavs trade
                              PF - Dirk Nowitzki (83)
                              C - Tyson Chandler (72)

This deal may seem unfair at first glace because of Dirk's recent run in the real life Playoffs. However, in my association, 3yrs down the road, I honestly don't think it looks that bad... JJ Hickson has just signed a new deal for 6yr $101m, and is only 24yr old with B pot. I think (in my association) this deal could be a good one for both teams...

Right now, I'm leaning towards Trade 1

So, thats my update... Thanks for reading, sorry if it was too long haha...

Going to load up one with the Orlando Magic. I want to try and make a trade for Chris Paul, however I know he is only going to be acquired via trade override which I am happy to do if I send over enough to make it close to a realistic trade.

So I wanted to ask you guys who would be best to trade and what I should send over.
