Just reached the All Star break here in the 3rd year of my Cavaliers rebuild...

    Cavs current roster

    PG - Kyrie Irving (88) / Jared Bayliss (67) / Jeff Teague (65)
    SG - Reggie Bullock (R)(74) / Brandon Rush (70)
SF - Harrison Barnes (88) / Jon "Threebler" Diebler (65)
    PF - JJ Hickson (82) / Antwan Jamison (71) / Brandon Wright (62)
    C - Anderson Verajao (70) / Hasheem Thabeet (65)

    Cavs player stats

    Harrison Barnes
    - 22.7ppg, 7.1rpg, 3.0apg

    Kyrie Irving
    - 18.3ppg, 3.2rpg, 9.4apg

    JJ Hickson
    - 16ppg, 8.9rpg, 1.1apg

    Reggie Bullock
    - 10.6ppg, 3.0rpg, 1.3apg

I've got a few trades that I'm thinking about making... As you can see by my roster, I have some good young talent, but, not many reliable veterans... My SG, and C positions are a bit weak... So check out some trades that I've been mulling over...

    Trade 1:
    Cavs trade
    PG - Jared Bayliss (67)
    SG - Reggie Bullock (74)
    C - Anderson Verejao (70)
    PF - Antwan Jamison (71)
    1st round pick

    Hornets trade
    PG - Chauncey Billups (79)
    SF - Trevor Ariza (77)
    C - Emeka Okafor (76)

This deal would give me a great veteran off the bench in Billups. Ariza would probably start at the SG for me. Also, this would improve my C position dramatically. Billups is 36yr old, but, still has a few solid years left as a 6th man imo.

    Trade 2:
    Cavs trade
    SG - Reggie Bullock (74)

    Bobcats trade
    SG - Stephen Jackson (77)

This deal would give me a solid scorer and defender at the SG position. Jackson is much older than Bullock, so, Bullock will progress beyond what Jackson is rated right now.

    Trade 3
    Cavs trade
    C - Anders Varejao (70)
    PF - Antwan Jamison (71)
    1st round pick

    Blazers trade
    C - Greg Oden (72-3)

I think I might be short changing myself with this one. Oden is upset with his role in Portland, I'm not really sure why, but, he is lol. This would improve my C position, but wouldn't give me any backcourt help.

Trade 4 - Might be a little far fetched
    Cavs trade
    PF - JJ Hickson (82)
    C - Anderson Varejao (70)
    1st round pick

    Mavs trade
    PF - Dirk Nowitzki (83)
    C - Tyson Chandler (72)

This deal may seem unfair at first glace because of Dirk's recent run in the real life Playoffs. However, in my association, 3yrs down the road, I honestly don't think it looks that bad... JJ Hickson has just signed a new deal for 6yr $101m, and is only 24yr old with B pot. I think (in my association) this deal could be a good one for both teams...

Right now, I'm leaning towards Trade 1

So, thats my update... Thanks for reading, sorry if it was too long haha...
Not sure any of those trades are all too appealing, especially considering you already have a locked in spot in your playoffs more or less, and lead your division.

I Wouldn't do Jax for Bullock for the reasons you outlined.

The last trade, the big one with Dirk, seems good but again don't think I'd do it considering Hickson is doing very well with you and has a lot of youth to factor in. Chandler would be a great pickup at C, and obviously Dirk is Dirk, but I think keeping a hold on Hickson, at this point, is your best bet.

That first trade I suppose gives you some help, but nothing too crazy that seems to put you over the top. At the rate youre going, perhaps Free Agency is the way to upgrade your team to get that last piece. What's your cap situation looking like?

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

Next season, I will have $23.19m of cap room... I don't think that factors in any team or player options...

As of right now, I will need to resign...

      Harrison Barnes - $4.75 (2nd yr team)
      Kyrie - $5.31m (2nd yr team)
      Jon Diebler - $568k (2nd yr team)

Only FA is PF Brandon Wright...

So if I sign those top 3 guys, (which I will for obvious reasons)

      I will have...
      $23.19
      -4.75
      -5.31
      -.568
      _____

$12.56m to spend this coming offseason...

I like trade 1 the most of all of the trades you listed. You really aren't giving up a ton and if you're in a "win it all right now" mode right now then it makes sense. You would end up with some solid depth and the veteran leadership you need to make good run.

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

Just a quick update on my cavs assoc. I've only played 5/11 of the games, I simmed some games to see how my team does without me controlling them. I'm hoping my team doesn't do all that great this year so I can rebuild through the draft one more time as well. My current record is 5-6, currently 3rd in the central conference (Pacers are first, bulls are second). I haven't made any trades yet this season, but I plan on unloading JJ Hickson at some point for either a SG or draft pick. My plan is to stock up on picks so I can move to get Harrison Barnes and Jarred Sullinger in the draft. My current starting line up is..

          PG Kyrie Irving
          SG Manny Harris
          SF Christian Eyenga
          PF Antawn Jamison
          C Enes Kanter

I'm leaning towards Simulating the rest of the season so I can start playing with some good scorers in the SF and SG slot.

So far the Pistons are 2-3. I invite you all to take a look at my association that is linked in my sig.

I basically had a fire sale with the team. Traded for picks or expirings and now there isn't much talent. The only guys I have above 70 overall are Antawn Jamison (78), Rodney Stuckey (77), Greg Monroe (73) and Jonas Valanciunas (72).
            Chicago Bears
            Oregon State Beavers
            Portland Trail Blazers
            San Francisco Giants
            Chicago Blackhawks
            MLS: Portland Timbers
            EPL: Liverpool FC

I look forward to reading this. I'm a huge Pistons fan (will be doing an association for them similar to the one in my signature when 2k12 comes out). Hope you can turn the team around. GO RICHARD HAMILTON if you haven't traded him...lol

Just a warning, whenever I decided to sim an entire season in association it ruins it for me. You may be different though.

                  Update

I'm playing with the Bulls in the 1st season.

Derrick Rose, Ronnie Brewer, and Kurt Thomas are all injured.

As a result I haven't been playing well and I just got destroyed by the Suns.

I haven't made any trades yet, and likely won't for the rest of the season. Depending on how things play out though in the off season I may trade Luol Deng in an attempt to get Kevin Martin, then in Free Agency try to sign: Grant Hill, Tayshaun Prince, Shane Battier, or Andrei Kirilenko.

Great game from Casspi again. To get my bench going, I only played them in the fourth. It was really fun, but Thompson got hurt at the end of the game.

Even if you like to play solo wouldn't it be great to access it online from a website?
I know online is obviously more fun, but have you tried using custom sliders?
For me they enhance the offline game quite a bit. I use these.

                          Chicago Bears
                          Wisconsin Badgers

Great game from Casspi again. To get my bench going, I only played them in the fourth. It was really fun, but Thompson got hurt at the end of the game.

Blog has been updated! I'd appreciate the feedback

Just started season 2 of my rebuilding the Cavs project.

                                Current starting line-up is
                                PG Ramon Sessions
                                SG Terrence Williams
SF Quinn Redd (first draft pick in this past draft)
                                PF J.J. Hickson
                                C Samuel Dalembert

off the bench I've got Andre Miller, Daniel Gibson, Manny Harris, Matt Barnes, Stuart Price (another first rounder - PF), Brad Miller, and Kenny Adams (from the D-League Mad Ants)

More details in the link in my sig
