Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
Update 1
Hey everyone, I have started a new association with Detroit Pistons. The first thing I did was hire two new prospect scout who are:
Doug Lewis
Level: A
Potential: F
Contract: 1yr/$1.00M
Jamie Keefe
Level: A
Potential: B
Contract: 5yr/$1.00M
I have also fired the existing prospect scout and have hired:
Erik Goodrich
Level: A
Potential: C
Contract: 2yr/$1.00M
I then traded Richard Hamilton and Terrico white for Louis Williams and Jason Kapono to free up some cap room, I then traded Jason Kapono and 1st round 2011 (I thought it said 2012) for the Clipper's Craig Smith and their 1st round pick 2011 and I also traded Jonas Jerebko and Chris Wilcox for the bull's first round pick and the last player trade I made was Craig Smith for The Warrior's 2nd Round pick and Louis Amundson and then the last trade I made was for both my 2nd round picks for the Cav's 1st round pick. So at the moment my draft picks are
1st round pick (Clippers)
1st round pick (Bulls)
1st round pick (Cavs)Comment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
So my 76ers finished the 2010-11 season at 31-51.
Allen Iverson refused to sign so he left
Antonio Daniels wanted to test free agency so I didn't want to pay him market value.
I tendered both Spencer Hawes and Derrick Brown as they were RFA's. Spencer signed a big deal with Denver that i refused to match, and Derrick remains with his tendor.
I didnt go after any big names in the first wave of free agency.
In the draft I took 4 players
Pick 6: C Fabricio Melo
Pick 14: PG Maalik Wayns
Pick 16: PF Willie Reed
Pick 17: SF CJ Leslie
To acquire the 17th pick i traded Maurice Speights to Milwaukee for that pick snd their first next season.
Before the season I signed SG Gerald Green, and resigned C Nazr Mohhammed. Mohammed played well for me as a backup last year, and I love Green's potential If I can work on his jump shot.
I sent both Reed and Leslie down to the D League at the beginning of the season to keep them playing as they wouldn't be a big part of my rotation to start. I will probably call them up at some point before the trade deadline to see what I have in them. As I will probably move either Thad Young or Elton Brand this season.
So far this season the 76ers are 3-0. I played a fantastic home game against the defending champion Miami Heat on opening day, winning 104-99. Lebron had 40 points and Wade/Bosh had 30 between them, but the lack of players around them doomed the Heat. Rookie Melo had 24 points, completely tore up the weak front court of Miami, while Evan Turner added 23.
I simmed the next 2 games, an easy win at home vs the Wizards, and a hard fought road win at Detroit. Next up is a huge matchup in Orlando which I will be playing.Comment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
I had today off and spent about 7 hours simming through season1, making ALL the real life trades as they occurred on the schedule, and worked my way through the first offseason.
It's a labor of love...and is definitely a tedious one when controlling all-30 teams.
The conf Finals featured the Lakers/Mavs, and Heat/Celtics.
The Lakers beat the Mavs in 6, and the Heat beat the Celtics in 7.
In the NBA Finals the Lakers got down 2-0, but came back to win the next 4 games and complete the 3-peat. Judging from the boxscores it was the depth of the Lakers that prevailed. The Lakers had more players in double figures, and spread their scoring more. There were a couple of 40pt games in the series. Lebron dropped 47 in a game 2 win, and Kobe dropped 40 and 42 in games 3 and 5. Seemed though that Lebron was spent after his outstanding 47 pt effort, as the rest of his scoring production was very inefficient.
So I'm ready to start season 2 of a brand new association.
Probably gonna run w/ the Wizards. They happened to land the #1 overall pick again, and now have a very dominant backcourt between John Wall (83 overall) and SG rookie Ronnie House (81 overall); he's a 6'7" stud.Originally posted by Edmund BurkeAll that is needed for the triumph of evil, is for good men to do nothing.Comment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
Josh Boone is a decent rebounder. Maybe you should consider making a trade though. Azubuike, Brewer, Walker might not be bad to put on the trade block to see if you can get a solid center. It would still leave you with Fields, Mason, and Rautins at the position.Comment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
I started 3 new association's today as the recent trade flurry has got me excited about a few teams. Started an association with the Thunder, Nets, and Knicks, and plan on starting one with the Nuggets as I love their new balanced team. No trades whatsoever so far, but I might make a move eventually with the Nets as they don't have a whole lot of offensive weapons outside of Williams, Morrow, and Lopez.
I won the first game with both the Thunder and Nets today, and have only played a single quarter with the Knicks so far, but I plan on finishing that game tomorrow. I seem to be doing pretty well with all 3 of these teams.
I'm best with the Thunder as I love Perkins' addition to this team. He creates balance between the scorers so it's not just Westbrook and Durant. With him getting shots in the post and drawing men inside, I'm able to score with most everybody.
An underrated acquisition for this team is Nate Robinson, he is ridiculously quick and athletic and can get his own shot, as well as hold his own on the defensive end of the floor. They needed another shot-maker and that's exactly what Robinson gives them.
Will update as I get farther along in these association's.Comment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
Im 2-1 in my Nets association. My team is playing really good defense.I got Derozan for outlaw and Farmar. My only loss is to Portland, where Deron Williams had an extremely awful game.He shot 3/17 and had 10 turnovers.Next game we won Dallas 79-73.We had a very good foruth quarter and Williasm was clutch in the closing mintues, htting a hard 3 and next possesion a 2+1.Comment

[1-0 SAC year 1/All-Star/82gm/10min]
Well i decided to start a new association with the Kings, i think it's just b/c i want to play with Tyreke. Anyways, first win was a blowout of MIN. I never knew how deadly Garcia was.
I was really looking forward to having Landry but that's a pipe dream now.. The only problem i foresee might be Dalembert and Udrih requesting to be a starters. Well he's out of luck b/c i'm determined to win ROY with Cousins and Tyreke's the future, so.....I'm not gonna be stupid this time and trade away a 1st round pick b/c there's a strong chance i have a terrible record this year.
PG T.Evans | Udrih
SG M.Thornton | F.Garcia | J.Taylor
SF Casspi | D.Greene
PF J.Thompson | D.Jackson
C Cousins | Dalembert | WhitesideLakers | Michigan | DodgersComment

IMO after seeing how wild the offseason was this past year and how the trade deadline trades have gone... anything is possible. So realism(if your going for that) is in the eyes of the beholder!Comment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
Durant won MVP
D12 DPotY
Wall RotY
Augstin MIP
Scott Brooks CotY
Don't remember 6th man but I think it was Odom or someone the Mavs traded for.
Playoff match-ups:
Josh Smith got injured during the last game of the regular season.Guess it was good I couldn't find anything for Green.
