Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

Started a 29 game Assoc. with my Clippers.

    Made 2 pre-season trades.

    Trade 1
Clips send Baron Davis, Brian Cook and DeAndre Jordan to Washington for Kirk Hinrich, Josh Howard and Cartier Martin

    Trade 2
Clips send Ryan Gomes and '11 2nd round pick to Sacramento for their 2012 2nd round pick.

During the season Cartier Martin was not happy with his play time and I needed some frontline depth. So:

Clips send Cartier Martin to Chicago for Kurt Thomas.

This puts us $9.44 Million under the cap.

Next season Kurt Thomas, Josh Howard, Ike Diogu, Jarron Butler and Rasual Butler all come off the books. I am looking at about $22 million in cap room next year and $54 million in hard cap space.

Although I may attempt to extend Josh Howard.

So far this season I am 3-6..

    Starting Lineup:
    PG- K.Hinrich (10.3 PPG, 6.1 APG, 4.8 RPG)
    SG-Eric Gordin (23.3 PPG, 1.2 APG, 4.2 RPG)
SF- Josh Howard (9.9 PPG, 1.0 APG, 4.3 RPG)
PF- Blake Griffin (21.2 PPG, 2.3 APG, 10.0 RPG)
    C- Chris Kaman (9.6 PPG, 1.1 APG, 7.8 RPG)

    Bench:
Eric Bledsoe (7.4 PPG, 4.3 APG, 2.3 RPG)
Craig Smith (6.3 PPG, 0.3 APG, 5.0 RPG)
Al Farouq Aminu (5.9 PPG, 4.1 RPG)
Kurt Thomas (2.1 PPG, 4.5 RPG)
    Randy Foye (1.8 PPG)
    Rasaul Butler (1.3 PPG)
    Ike Diogu

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

Once the trade deadline had passed I decided to finally do a complete season with the Orlando Magic. Think I've found a slider set that I can enjoy playing with too.

First thing I wanted to do was clear a lot more cap space, shake up the team to how I'd like to play and play to the Magic's strengths.

Yes some of the trades to you may have been robbing for either side or completely unrealistic but it got accepted by the AI so in my eyes it's fair and realistic to the game.

        So the trades;

Magic trade: Daniel Orton, Malik Allen, '11 1st round pick.
Wizards trade: '11 1st round pick, Trevor Booker.

Magic trade: Brandon Bass, Chris Duhon, J.J Redick.
Nets trade: '11 2nd round pick, Stephen Graham, Ben Uzoh, Kris Humphries.

Magic trade: Quentin Richardson (CLE), Kris Humphries (NJ), '11 2nd round pick (CLE).
Cavaliers trade: Daniel Gibson (ORL), Semih Erden (ORL).
        Nets trade: Jordan Farmar (CLE).

        Magic trade: Gilbert Arenas.
Kings trade: Omri Casspi, Luther Head.

Magic trade: Daniel Gibson, Omri Casspi.
Nets trade: Damion Jones, Anthony Morrow.

Magic trade: Trevor Booker, '12 1st round pick.
        Knicks trade: Toney Douglas.

Magic trade: Damion James, Luther Head, Earl Clark.
        Bulls trade: Kyle Korver.

There was a couple of people I may have shipped out straight after acquiring them but I didn't really want a bench player except one ( Douglas ) who was rated 70+.

        I then signed Troy Murphy from free agency to be my PF. So my side looks like;

Orlando Magic 2-0. ( Beat the Wizards 97-92 and the Heat 113-106 )

        PG - Nelson (13.0PPG, 4.0APG, 1.5SPG)/Douglas (17.5PPG)/Uzoh (6.5PPG),
        SG - Richardson (20.5PPG, 7.5RPG, 1.5SPG, 1.0BPG)/Morrow (7.0PPG),
        SF - Turkoglu (7.0PPG, 4.5RPG, 3.0APG)/Korver (9.0PPG)/Graham,
        PF - Murphy (13.0PPG, 10.5RPG, 1.5BPG)/Anderson (4.0RPG),
        C - Howard (16.5PPG, 14RPG, 4.5APG, 2.0SPG, 2.0BPG)/Erden.

I tend to feed it into Howard and Murphy until the double teams start and kick it out to the perimeter three point scorers. Nelson and Richardson can also attack the rim which brings the fouls too. I'm not sure if the team will be able to compete with the big teams but based on the way I play and the Magic playbook it seems to suit perfectly with the personnel. I've also managed to knock the cap room down to -$7.64m with it going to $12.35m in the off-season and then $44.73m in the big free agency class. ( half of which will go to Howard no doubt, so two superstars could be attained ). I also have the Wizards #1 pick in the 2011 draft which should be a lottery pick hopefully.
        Football: Manchester United
        MLB: Cleveland Indians
        NBA: Miami Heat
        NFL: Cleveland Browns

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

          Year 2

The Miami Heat got off to a rough start in defense of their second NBA title. Sitting at 5-6 things were looking uneven. However the Heat have now reeled off 5 straight wins after dropping 4 straight. The latest victory was a thorough thrashing of the Orlando Magic at the Amway Arena. Dwayne Wade paced the Heat with 33 points and Lebron James dropped in 29 as well as pulled down 9 boards and had 5 assists. Chris Bosh added 15 points and 11 boards. Dwight Howard was a beast as usual pouring in 27 points and hauling in 18 boards. But the rest of the Magic just could not hit the side of a barn. Steve Nash added just 11 points, Rashard Lewis only added 10 and Turkgalo was 1-8 from 3 pt land and the MAgic as a team were a dreadful 1-18 from 3pt land.

The Heat then got by the Nets at home 104-102. Amazing how flat they were to start this game falling behind by 14 in the first half. However a second half run that began with 5 minutes left in the 3rd brought the Heat to within 2. The decisive 4th quarter saw 8 lead changes as it was tooth and nail. with the score at 102-102 and 14 seconds remaining the Heat called time out to set up their final shot. Bosh inbounded to Wade who then handed it off to Lebron. A pick was set by Rookie Mo Timmerman and Lebron drove around it and went to the hole to be met by 2 Nets...he kicked it out to a wide open Mario Chalmers who then calmly sank a 18 footer with 2.3 seconds remaining.

          Game over.

The Heat travel to New Orleans tonight to se if they can extend their winning streak to 6.

In Season 3 with the and im finally starting to get some wins. Im 6-4 right now. I got siick and tired of losing from season 1 & 2 and decided to trade most of the "original players" (Jamison,Gibson,Williams,Harris,Varejo, etc.) that i had in the last 2 seasons. Just had a nail bitting win against Houston 103-100.
My Roster now looks like this:
            PG- Ramon Sessions, CJ Watson
            SG-Aaron Afflalo, T-Mac
            SF-Luol Deng, AK47, Babbit
            PF-J.J. Hickson,Jared Sullinger
            C-Greg Oden(free agency pick up)
This roster is the first time time that i feel like i have a legit chance to win and not feel like im gonna get curb stommped

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

just started a new association with the Thunder with the new deadline rosters

simmed a season and using the draft class (something mock draft) haha

                First year at the deadline

Wizards offered me John Wall, Nick Young and their first for Westbrook, Haden and Aldrich
                I accepted

Then traded Nate Robinson for Grieves Vazquez and a first rounder

I now have picks 17,18,19 in round 1 and pick 19 in round 2

                Drafted

                17 - Marcus Morris
                18 - Kyle Singler
                19 - Nolan Smith

                then round 2

                19 - John Diebler

                Year 2 line up

                PG - John Wall
                SG - Nick Young
                SF - Kevin Durant
                PF - Kendrick Perkins
                C - Serge Ibaka

                bench of

                PG - Eric Maynor
                SG - Nolan Smith
SF - Matt Barnes, Kyle Singler, Jon Diebler
PF - Ryan Anderson, Marcus Morris
                C - Brad Miller

Which raises my question. What should I do with my starting PF/C? I can play Perkins at PF and Ibaka at C and have no true back up C. Or I could go with the rookie Morris or Ryan Anderson and make either Perkins or Ibaka come off the bench. What do you guys think I should do?

edit - I have Thabo Sefalosha who is irritated and traded him to the rockets for C Brad Miller. The Rockets had 4 centers and Miller was Heated so i did the swap and change of scenery deal.

Also, waived Vasquez and signed Matt Barnes.

New lineup with the two acquisitions has been updated

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

First time posting an update so bear with me. I like seeing everyone's progress so I figured I share mine too.

I started an Association with the Knicks. Superstar/Sim/11 min quarters. Simmed the entire regular season and got the 3rd seed. Didn't make any trades. I plan on playing all the playoff games. Playoff format is 3-5-5-7. This game is crazy!

1st round I went against the Celtics.

Game 1 - I was up by like 18 at halftime then they made a huge run in the 3rd to keep it close. Ray Allen hit a clutch 3 at the buzzer to send the game to OT! Then in OT I had a 2 point lead, Paul Pierce hits another 3 at the buzzer to steal Game 1!!! I was so pissed LOL. Melo had 42 and Amare had 30.

Game 2 - I won by 8 points in a balanced scoring effort. Billups, Melo, Amare and Fields all got 20+ points.

Game 3 - Once again I jumped to a 15 point lead in the 3rd quarter. They grinded it out in the 4th to keep it close and finally tied it with 15 seconds remaining. Final play I let Melo handle the ball and drove inside, saw Amare open at the top of the key then passed it to him for the final shot. Ball hit the front of the rim then bounced in. Crazy!!!

Round 2 was against the Magic

Game 1 - Melo got injured while shooting a jumpshot! Strained lower back IIRC, out 1-2 weeks. Amare took over, coach keeps calling plays for him and he was unstoppable. Ended up with 60 points in a 7 point victory.

Gonna resume tomorrow. Hope Melo heals before I get eliminated. Having no depth is a problem. Turiaf is my only center. Amare is feeling a little bit sluggish too being forced to log huge minutes.

Oh and LeBron won MVP, but the Heat got upset by the 8th seed Pacers LOL. I love this game!

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

Now that the post trade deadline rosters are out I started an association with the 76ers. I decided to have young as my sixth man and start iggy at SF. Then I started JODIE MEEKS at SG and have turner coming off the bench also. Cuz I would like him to devolpe a jump shot before he gets major min so I put his role as prospect.

So my lineup looks like this
                    Pg- holiday/williams
                    Sg- Meeks/kapono/turner
                    Sf- iggy/young
Pf- brand/young (young plays both forwards)
                    C- speights/hawes
I have nocioni/brackins/battie/songaila but they aren't part of my rotation and get maybe one min per game if we are up by a decent amount.

So first game of the season against the heat we end up winning 123-122 in a crazy game that ended with Meeks hitting a 3 at the buzzer. Meeks finished the game with 47 points. He just was money that game.

I'm now 9-4. Iggy is averaging 18.5ppg 6.2rpg and 6.2 apg. But my shocker is meeks who is averaging 18.2 ppg. If meeks is given a chance he is a very solid player. He goes from 4.7ppg as a rookie to 18.2 ppg in his second year.

After trying a few teams out after the updates I decided to go with the Clippers. They are the exact type of team I want to build up of course it starts with keeping Blake in LA and I also wanna see if I can get one more star player with him eventually.

I just moved an angered Jamal Crawford because he wasn't playing enough (apparently starting for an injured Marvin Williams doesn't cut it?) along with Mike Bibby and Jordan Crawford to the Nets for Devin Harris, Sasha Vujacic, and Damion James. My starting 5 now looks like:

                          C: Al Horford - 85
                          PF: Josh Smith - 87
                          SF: Damion James - 70
                          SG: Joe Johnson - 86
                          PG: Devin Harris - 80

6th man is Vujacic and now since I got James, it makes Marvin Williams or Maurice Evans expendable. I'm looking to move either of them for a better PF to back-up Josh Smith. My Hawks are currently 14-1 at Turkey Day, and just demolished the Wizards in the first trade after the game.

Simmed 3,played that game 4. Suprisingly close. Had unusually terrible 3 point shooting 2/19 and of course with JSmoove out there were more rebounding problems than usual as well.
