A few weeks later I was offered Carmelo for Cousins straight up! I think it is funner to limit yourself to trades that you could see each team doing in real life.

Anyway, I just played the 1st game of my 2nd season on the road against the T'Wolves. Jimmer struggled shooting 1-6 but had 6 assists. Tyreke led us with 28. We trailed most the game, but went on a 15-2 run late in the 4th and ended up pulling out a 7 point win. Omiri Casspi was huge for us. He had 19 points shooting 7-8 from the field and 5-6 from 3. Rookie Travis Leslie had a nice first game also. He had 7 points and played great defense. In case you missed the post earlier, here is our lineup one more time.

    Jimmer/Udrih
    Evans/Travis Leslie
    Thaddeus Young/Garcia/Casspi/James Jones
    Odom/Two 62 rated rookies
    Cousins/DeAndre Jordan

Our offense is looking nice but it looks like defense will be our problem this year. I have decided to put Francisco Garcia on the trading block early in the season. Between him and Casspi only one of them can be the backup small foward, and I prefer Casspi. The only thing Garcia does better than Casspi is play defense, but Casspi will usually be playing on the court with Travis Leslie and DeAndre Jordan so he will have help on D. I am going to pursue a trade that would give us Joey Dorsey (64) from the Raptors. My plan was to just let Thaddeus Young and Cousins play the PF when Odom is on the bench but Cousins is too slow for athletic fowards off the bench and we got killed on the boards when Young was playing PF. I want a true PF to come in and just play defense and rebound.

Joey Dorsey is exactly the kind of player I need. He rebounds on both ends and plays great post defense. We have enough options on offense that we don't need another scorer. I will probably offer Garcia for him within the next few games and I might try to get a 2nd round pick as well since Garcia is 5 points better than Dorsey.
That's what I like to hear bro, just because the CPU offers it to you doesn't mean it's a fair trade or realistic. You have to limit yourself. The only reason why I could slightly see people making a big trade involving superstars if their unhappy with their respective teams. Do that trade Joey Seems to be exactly what you need. Also what type of offense you run? Is your team a running team, or a halfcourt?

I'll be doing a HUGE update on my blog to end the month. It'll be a recap of November, showing league leaders, standings, and a break down of my King's roster so far. So please check it out and leave some comments on it.

Also Tiger3, way to use Casspi well! I can't seem to ever get him going. I managed to acquire Jameer Nelson, who is picking up my three point shooting along with my improved Tyreke Evans. Cousins is my beast down low, and I got James Harden off a trade to come off the bench strong. I also manage to use the rookie, Eugene Jeter, very well.
Quick question why would you trade James Harden away from OKC? Comeon man Harden isn't leaving OKC anytime soon make it realistic.

Yea I scored about 6 points a game with him last year but coming into this year I decided to change his plays for the 1st time. I think all 4 of his plays now have him coming off screens to the wing or top of the key. He was automatic from those spots in my 1st game. Looking foward to your blog update. It's fun to follow someone using the same team to see how they are doing things.

I like to do a little of both but I do think the team seems to do well when we speed the tempo up. Guys like Tyreke and Odom can get rebounds and bring the ball up themselves and even go coast to coast. I don't want to be a Phoenix Suns run and gun team though because Cousins would get tired quick and he wouldn't get the post up touches he needs. I plan on pushing the ball up the court a lot when DeAndre Jordan is in the game for Cousins. Guys like Evans, Young, Odom, Jordan, and Leslie are all so athletic they can really do well in fastbreak situations.

Seems like a solid plan. I'm type jealous you're probably having mad fun with this team haha.

But I'm deleting my Knicks association, because I use KG's outdated roster to start them. KG has updated his rosters and they seem incredible and I have new sliders I should be set. I'm thinking of controlling all 30 teams, because I'm sick and tired of the stupid AI decisions but I my main team will be the Cavs. The idea of rebuilding this team with Irving seems intriguing.

So Imma start it a little bit later and sim the first season.

Yea man I just played my second game and this team is a lot of fun. Our starting lineup is just so balanced, any one of them can go off for 20 on any night. Just played on the road against the 76ers in my 2nd game. Thaddeus Young showed that he still loves playing in Philly. He scored 25 points on 10-12 shooting along with 7 rebounds and 3 steals. We ended up controlling the whole game and winning by 10.

Also just checked the leading scorers after a couple games. Derrick Rose started the season with a 48 point game, and if that wasn't enough, he scored 55 in their 2nd game!

Good luck with the Cavs. It will be tough to rebuild them but I bet it will be a lot of fun.

I'm in the second year with My Association with the Heat, and my second year with my 3pt PG on the Celtics, just felt like adding about My Player because in my signature is my website that has My Player and Association and will update for MLB, NFL, and NHL soon enough.

My November update is about to come to my blog within the hour. It's a pretty big update with a lot of information about my entire league, the Sacramento Kings, and what's next. Here's a small preview:

                Tyreke Evans - SG (11 GP and GS, 202 Points, 31 Rebounds, 25 Assists, 10 Steals, 8 Blocks, 54% FG, 52% 3PT, 83% FT)
"Nobody in this entire league signed up for the NBA because it's easy. No one promised any of us it would be easy. You see the good and ugly about each team, and you have to be ready for anything. It's as simple as that.
COACH ALEX BEST: "He's got a mouth on him, that's for sure. He is a little restless for how young he is. But he knows how to score, and he knows how to lead this team. He needed a few players with him to make him better, and I think we got him that. I see an all-star in him."

EDIt: I just posted it. Should be a fun read to anyone willing to read about someone else's game. Lots of cool stuff (link in my signature)

(Also, I obtained James Harden by trading away Marcus Thornton, the King's old 6th man. I felt it was a fair trade.)

Interesting. I am starting year three. I did all my off-season work and had my draft. But on why I quoted you. Tyreke Evans is starting for the Charlotte Bobcats who were the pre-season power ranked #1 team!

In in good order my Heat opened at home vs. the Bobcats. It was a great game with 4 different big runs. Long story short we beat them 108-101. Lebron James had a triple double to start the year.

I will give a full detailed post on the 2 time NBA Champion Miami Heat and what their team looks like for their 2012/2013 charge for a three-peat as well as the big mover and shakers with roster moves.

As a primer I moved up from pick 31 to the 10th overall to grab a very bright and up and coming PG. details on him later. In fact the Heat took 2 rookie PG's. Mario Chalmers though now has an overall of 73 and he really has developed a great outside shot. And my year two 7'4 Center Mo Timmerman from New Mexico has a post game now!

Once again, no question. This is the greatest sports game ever. I said to myself I would put it down after year 2 (I played 82 regular season games in year one 62 in year 2 as well as all my teams post season games) yet here I am firing up another season in my Association. This and the Show are staples in my PS3 till NCAA 12 and Madden 12 come out.

So year three will go on and I am sure it will take me till the end of the year to even fathom finishing it at the earliest. But wow man I have not even touched My PLayer, Jordan Challenges or my classic roster sets I DL from 2K share.

Just a masterpiece of a video game. It really is a love letter to us from 2K.

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

So I already got bored with my Association. I downloaded Rashidi's rosters, and started playing on default. The game feels very realistic now, I actually shot under 50% in a game, plus the rosters feel a little more realistic as well.

I restarted my Lakers association with player roles turned off, and was forced to be REALLY realistic as far as trading went because no one wanted my garbage (barring Gasol, Bynum and Odom.).

I traded my 2011 1st and 2nd rounder (23rd pick) and my 2012 1st rounder to Charlotte and got myself in the 15th pick of the 2011 draft and picked up PG, Kemba Walker (overall 68). No clue how he slipped so far but I took him, I'm guessing it was maybe his "C" in defense.

So here's my 2011-2012 lineup now:

                      Walker(68) - 28
                      Bryant(92) - 34
                      Barnes(73) - 28
                      Gasol(84) - 33
                      Bynum(82) - 36
                      ________________________
                      PF: Odom(77) - 28
                      SF: Artest(72) - 15
SG: M. Shakur(69) - 10 [converted him from PG to SG and his rating went up from 65]
                      PG: Blake(65) - 20
                      C: Przybilla(63) - 8

Ordered 2k11 from Amazon brand new for $29 w/ free shipping! But I have to wait till the 3rd to recieve it or at least that is what the estimated shipping date is! Anyways, I will be playing as the Bulls w/ updated rosters and the draft classes included also downloaded in my association, can't wait! As the Bulls stuggle to find a solid 2 guard, I will make a strong push for O.J Mayo, and at the same time look to trade boozer + noah + all my first rounders for D.Howard and maybe even absorb a turk/agent 0 contract to make it even more realistic. Also quick question should I control all thirty teams so there are no "stupid" and or unrealistic trades. I will update once I get the game into my PS3!

I would love it if some people read it and told me what they think. I was trying to cater it to readers who don't need to be really interested in my association in order to enjoy. I wanted something that would grab any nba-fan's eye.

I loved the whole blog, I wished you wrote it more, it's a great read, I look forward to reading more, keep up the great work.

Thanks man! I'm glad you enjoy reading them. I wanted to write more, but the picture limit of 20 kept me. I did all the players on my roster, but I had to remove all the side ones.
Can the Kings turn it around? Come watch my NBA 2K11 Association!
