I love that team, Kemba and Williams on the same team. I used to have Kemba on my team with the Kings. I would put him in whenever I needed help on offense from the bench. What I would do is start Kemba, put Evans back at 2 guard, Williams at backup 2 guard and see if you can get a decent point for Marcus Thornton. That's what I would do only because to me it makes your offense stronger and you can find a defensive point for Thornton.

Hey guys, first of all, I've read quite a few pages and I must say I love the internet. When I was younger I was pretty sure I was the only person on the face of the earth that loved playing the role of GM and creating a championship team. So it's always a blast for me to read these.
Your team makes a lot of sense, your bench is more consolidated with guys who plays a couple positions each, which is good. Depth across the board is always good though, and youlll notice it when the injury bugs hit (I think it's inevitable to lose guys for a few weeks with little dinky injuries).
With that said, even if this team made the playoffs, I dont think the Maloofs would care either way in regards to keeping em in Sac. And I'd even venture to say they wouldnt let their cap get as high as it got as they are trying to pinch pennies with their investments not doing so hot for them.Follow me on Twitter@DrewGarrisonSBNComment

I personally love playing the game, so I'd go with playing with sliders and play 10 min - 12 min quarters. All depends on philosophy. That's what's so great about this game. I could have one association where I play every game every minute, another where I sim a few weeks at a time and then comb over my teams progression, stats, needs, etc and work it as a GM.Follow me on Twitter@DrewGarrisonSBNComment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
Year 2 with my Bulls and I'm in a very strong battle with #4 seeded NY in the 2nd round. I'm the #1 seed BTW. Right now going into game 5 tied at 2-2. I started my association way before the Carmelo trade so this is a Carmelo-less Knicks as he ended up signing with NJ in the summer. This is the Knicks lineup:
Raymond Felton
Kelenna Azubuike
Danilo Gallinari
Amare Stoudemire
Jonas Valaciunas
Toney Douglas
Alonzo Gee
Lacedarious Dunn
Matt Barnes
Boris Diaw
Tyler Hansbrough
Ronny Turiaf
Timofey Mozgov
Valaciunas is a beast for NY -
Game 1 - 13 PTS / 13 REB / 3 AST / 3 STL / 5 BLK (WIN)
Game 2 - 22 PTS / 10 REB
Game 3 - 18 PTS / 13 REB / 4 BLK (WIN)
Game 4 - 12 PTS / 13 REB
He's giving me a lot of issues and Gallinari has lit me up twice this series as well. Once for 31 and once for 26. Game 5 should be good!Comment

Re: bentons Portland Trail Blazer Association
It depends on your preferences. Some people like simming to keep the random factor in, and detach themselves from the game and make it even more important to have the right personel since there's no control over a sim.

One other steal I forgot to mention was J. Voscausllufleuleulas (you can guess who I"m talking about, and also guess that I can't spell his name, I think his first name is Jonas, maybe?) I have no idea how, but when I saw him still available 9 picks into the 2nd round. I traded with a team for the 10th pick and shipped them a future 2nd rounder straight up. He's apparently a 5 star player, based solely on his potential obviously, as he's only rated a 50-something. I sent him to the D-league to get some experience. But it's definitely an option to trade him for a better perimeter defender or 2 way point guard. Thank you for your suggestion.
Read through your post, Sac-Town is looking much better than it was prior, that's for sure. Kemba and D. Will were huge pickups in a city needing to prove itself. Don't get it wrong - Sac Town loves their Kings and that's definitely one of the reasons they got a 1 yr stay, to sort through some garbage before jumping the gun.

It's cool that you noticed one of the things I was going for. Which is players that can play multiple positions. In hockey I'm a huge fan of 2 way players, as well as the gritty/grinder type players that do the dirty work and get things done. How it translates to the NBA are guys like Kevin Love or Glen Davis that don't have a ton of athletic ability, but make up for it with a motor that never stops going. I think with this team I have the best of both worlds. I have 2 small forwards that can rebound at a great rate for their position, and my bigs can crash the offensive glass and get a lot of second chance points. Being able to put Reke, Thornton, R. Williams, D. Williams, Young, Hickson, and Hawes at multiple positions is huge for me and helps me create favorable mismatches throughout the course of a game.Last edited by tcrews; 06-02-2011, 05:27 PM.Comment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
I appreciate your response. I completely agree with you on trading Thornton. I love him and he's now a "4 star" in the trading circuit. I'm also attached to him because of that double 6 man thing I have going on with him and Young. Plus, I've always tried to trade for him or sign him since I watched a Hornets game last year. I'm not sure I'd be able to part with him. But I absolutely need a better perimeter defender and/or someone that can bottle up the elite point guards, because I'm getting killed by the "good" point guards. I just don't know who I would trade.

It's funny you mention that. I couldn't agree more. The Maloofs absolutely wouldn't care either way in real life. For the sake of a good storyline, I'm just trying to win enough games to change their collective mind and keep the team in Sac-Town. But I do know what you're saying. We went into the off-season with about $32 million in cap space. So I'm sure if they had it their way we'd fill the roster with 480k minimum salary players and call it good. Fortunately though, as GM, I overruled them, haha.

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
Is anyone doing a Detroit Pistons one? I didn't do it because I know how to be good using their players (Stuckey, Prince, Hamilton, and Wallace. I can beat teams online with just those four), but I might consider doing them when 2k12 comes out (assuming I do Kings for the remainder of 2k11).
I don't like doing teams other people are doing. Call me stupid, but I like uniqueness. Although I'm glad Tigers is doing a Kings one so I can gauge how I'm doing.

Fun game, it's a shame I injured their two PGs, Collison and Ford. But I still managed to get a win regardless. I mean, I shot 32 times from beyond the arc, and scored 16 of them. Wow. Great game. Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
Just came back from down 3-1 in the NBA Finals to beat the Kings to win my first ring in my "New Jordan" Association. Brad Potter (Jordan clone 3 years in) led us to the title, but we wouldn't have won it without Tyrus Thomas, Michael Gilchrist, Amir Williams, and even Delonte West.
Lots of things to take care of... Potter, Gilchrist, Williams, DeShaun Thomas, and my backup PG Korey Brown are all still under their rookie deals and I picked all of them up immediately. Most likely letting Thomas go in Free Agency. Larry Sanders refuses to sign with me, West is a free agent as well as many others, including Paul Pierce.
Got some things to take care of this off-season.Ohio State Buckeyes | Carolina Panthers | Charlotte Hornets | Cincinnati RedsComment

Bentons NBA 2k11 Portland Trail Blazers Association
Ok 3 games to recap as the week comes to a end. I will update other things like League standings at the end of every Calender month on the game, and league leaders and all star votes will be shown the week prior to the all star game"
The Trail Blazers took on there division rivals the Oklahoma City Thunder, The Blazers were without there all star Brandon Roy who is still sidelines with back spasms, Portland jumped out to a 14 point first quarter lead at the Rose Garden in Portland. But Portland couldnt hold down the Thunder. Durant and Westbrook took charge in the 2nd and the Thunder outscored Portland 32-13 in in the 2nd, At the break it was 58-45 OKC. And the Thunder came out in the 2nd half and didnt slow down, they took a 23 point lead into the 4th and the Garden was a quiet place, Despite a 37 point 4th quarter by Portland, It was not enough as the Thunder extend there lead in the Northwest Division by beat the Blazers 121-103. Russell Westbrook had 28 points and 11 assist. and Kevin Durant had 27 points and 8 rebounds.

After the game GM/Coach Benton was frustrated they couldnt put the Thunder away. But when they shoot over 50% and Durant and Westbrook both go for over 27 it can be a tough task, But there is plenty of games to bounce back, its a long season.. Up next The Blazers take on The Detriot Pistons at the Rose Garden.
================================================== ========
Blazers take down Pistons. Lead by double doubles from Aldridge and Wallace
Portland Or, The Blazers bounced back from a loss to the Thunder by handling the struggling Pistons (7-17). On a good note for the Pistons, this was Richard Hamilton 3rd game of the season, after missing the first month and half of the season due to a pre season injury. But Portlands defense was to much for the Pistons. Leading Scorer for the Pistons Rodney Stuckey was shut down in the first hald 0 points and 5 turnovers. But busted out with 21 points in the 2nd half. Blazers LaMarcus Aldridge had 22 points and 12 rebounds and Gerald Wallace put in 14 points and 11 rebounds. Brandon Roy play limited minutes coming back from a back injury playing 5 minutes.
*I actually didnt want Roy to play but for some reason one of my bench guys went to the Dleague but i dont remember sending him there. So that took away the reserve spot that Roy was on, so that he wouldnt end up playing when i simmed. it did that for this game and the next one. I forgot to check that*

The Blazer now have won 2 games in a row and should keep that going, up next is the Kings and then the helpless Suns this season who up to this point have a season worse 3-20 record. But both games are on the road for the Blazers. The Kings right now are 7-16 but have gone 5-5 in the last 10 games, they were 2-11 before that.

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
So after owning the game bit over a week, and a bit of testing with Hornets and the Bulls, I decided on the Magic.
Decided on a complete clear out and re-build around Howard. Took me a while to get the team I wanted, had to trade players and trade players again. But I did well and have a young team with plenty of potential.
3 games in now so can't remember exact trades but ended up with this team.
PG - Iverson / Wall
SG - Mayo / Von Wafer / Created Player
SF - Gay / Beasley / Hill (Was a free agent - purely for experience)
PF - Love / Griffin
C - Howard / M Gasol
First game at home against the Wizards - Got my first win since owning the game! To be fair, I put difficulty down to rookie as being a newbie I just couldn't get the hang of things on Pro.
Final score was 84 - 56. The game was actually really close up until the third quarter when I hit 20 compared to their 8. Gay finished top scorer with 18 odd. Can't get exact stats from the game for some reason.
Next up went to Miami to play the Heat who were without LBJ thanks to a broken back. Kept difficulty on Rookie and ended up winning surprisingly 86 - 67. Again was very close till the 3rd quarter when I blew em of the court 20 - 9. Wade top scored for them with twenty but was 3 - 23 with FG's! Points came from the free throw line. Bosh had 14 and was off target with 4 - 15 FG's. Chalmers hit 1 - 17! Funny thing is House and Bibby were not used!
Howard was the man for me with 14 points and 14 rebounds. Iverson chipped in 14 and Griffin followed with 11 points and 14 rebounds. Happy with result but obviously difficulty on Rookie so not getting ahead of myself.
Went to NY next to take on the Knicks. First and last quarter were close but made my run in the second scoring 24 - 11 and went on the third scoring 25 to 17. Ended up winning 90 - 62. Billups sucked in the first half and couldn't hit the target wide open. Was set alight in the second and too scored with 18. Carmelo was really active in the first and seemed like he couldn't miss, went quiet in the second half and ended up with 15.
Howard came up big for me again scoring 14 and 8 rebounds. Wall is starting to come along and ended up with 13 and 4 assists. Mayo (who hasn't scored a point thus far) surprised me with 13 points, 6 - 9 FG's and 1 - 1 3pt's.
Top of my division and at home to the Timberwolves next who are 1 - 3. Definitely upping the difficulty from now, but glad I'm getting the hang of it finally. Scouting Irving, Kanter and Singleton too.Comment
