I will be running with the Orlando Magic, in which i have a big decision to make: Do I

1) Try to deal Vince Carter and Rashard Lewis to dump cap and build around Dwight Howard and Jameer Nelson for the future, or

2) Make a move or two in an attempt to win a ring in the next year or so. It is a good team, with depth right now, however I would probably try to upgrade at SF. The problem with this is that I am looking at potentially having to go through the Celtics, Heat, then Lakers in the playoffs and regardless of the moves I make, I don't know if without a few lucky injuries that can happen.

I think I have Carter nad Lewis for a few more years with BIG contracts. I also have a few bad contracts on the team (Gortat comes to mind) so I am really at a crossroad. Does anyone have any thoughts or suggestions?

Edit: The ages of the current starters are Carter -33, Lewis - 31, Nelson - 28, Howard - 24, Pietrus -28 , plus Reddick is 26,

I want to make an association with a custom team that has some classic players. 85-86 Jordan, a younger Bird, younger Magic, and some of the other classic players included with the game.

I would keep what you have, and try to find that missing piece for Orlando, because you can win with that roster in the game. Any realistic trade that you can draw up will not make your team better then what it is.

In my opinion, Carter is done with his career, don't know why, but he just doesn't seem like he used to. Lewis is a great shooter and a tall presence at the SF position. Building a team around Howard and NELSON is odd. Nelson is not the kinda guy you'd build a team around. I'd trade Carter and Nelson for a pass first point guard and a solid overall shooting guard.

Steve Nash (Experienced and has gotten better with age, good complimentary player to Dwight.)

Tony Parker (Not exactly pass first, but he is a scorer the Magic need.)

Andre Miller (Not the big player you want to build around, maybe through in a young prospect and a pick.)

Im playing with the Knicks right now.
I signed Allen Iverson and traded Carmelo Anthony for Azubuike, Felton and Eddy Curry. Im 3rd in the East right now with 28-13 behind the Bulls and the Heat.

I signed Allen Iverson and traded Carmelo Anthony for Azubuike, Felton and Eddy Curry. Im 3rd in the East right now with 28-13 behind the Bulls and the Heat.

Does that mean the game knows Melo is likely to leave? Because if I would of done that trade in 2k10, Denver would laugh in my face and walk away.

Do you guys have up to date rosters or you guys are starting your associations with the current roster?

I will be doing a couple of Associations:

* Orlando Magic - Real-NBA; will keep up with every trade/signing/release made in the NBA as I try to bring a Championship to Orlando.

* Oklahoma City Thunder - Dynasty/Fantasy; will make owner decisions and let the CPU makes all of their transactions. This one will be a multi-year Association where I will try to develop the OKC Thunder and Durant (my second favorite player in the NBA) into an MVP and a Hall of Famer.

Right now I am just waiting for 2K to release their most up to date rosters so I can kick off my Thunder Association as for the Magic one I will wait until Opening Night so I can start on par with the NBA and get all the up to date transactions, etc...

I can't wait to get it started Fellas!

I vote for win-now (2). I say keep Vince. Game is different than IRL. Not going to argue ratings but in the game he is an 81 OVR with a team option next year. That's very good SG and gives you flexibility for the short term.
Lewis' contract is atrocious so that is going to be very very tough to move. An OVR 76 with diminishing potential at 31, making 20+ million a year for the next 3 years? Come on. Who's going to take that...

Probably end up creating my own version of "March To Brooklyn" with the Nets and attempt to make the Melo trade that should've went down.

Where's JBH at because I'm definitely interested in following his association storylines.

Iv'e made up my mind and i'm going to be running with the Wizards for my association.

I have a feeling i'm going to trade Gilbert Arenas for some young players and hopefully some good draft picks. I'm also going to try and get Big Baby Davis from the Celtics to give us another body down low. My starting lineup should look like this...

PG - John Wall
SG - ????
SF - Josh Howard
PF - Glen Davis
C - Javelle McGee

Possibly looking to get J.R. Smith from the Nuggets, anyone have any suggestions on who I can get for Arenas?

Thanks to everyone who offered input. And yea, I think this is what I am going to have to go with. I wouldnt mind upgrading Pietrus, but I do kind of need him for perimeter defense. I guess Ill just try to get favorable matchups and yet again live and die by the 3.

O I know, he's a bit of a wide load though, and iv'e always liked his game.

He can hit the mid range J when he wants, and he's all hustle.
